This is definitely a game that has the potential to retain interest for years. Any superhero fan will appreciate. Now there are some glitches that need to be fixed but I’m sure patches will be released that will fix them shortly. The game content is set up like games like Destiny so you’ll never be bored even after completing the launch campaign.

The game is very interesting story wise . The gameplay has improved since they revealed the gameplay for marvels avengers. The only thing I don’t like about the game is the loot system. It’s very Grindy for a story mode game that’s not open world.

This is weekend rent game.
The issues :
anticlimax moments
Boring personality
Meh story plot
Few glitches
So in short, the story isn't what you are use to when dealing with avengers instead it focus on the loot aspect of the game to get you hooked. Like the bad guy is just so meh, there is no Thanos or loki. Matter fact there are just a handful of marvel license characters featured.
Each character look decent I guess but they don't have that personality you use to. I don't know if I missed it but there wasn't a cheesey "avengers aslimble!" line like in Endgame despite a trophy pop-up saying it.
Sometime audio would be out of sync or no sound at all, background will be blank sometimes and slow framrate when screen gets heavy on enemies.
Overall: I would say rent. I completed this in about 2 days. After the ending I was like that's it? So anticlimax. I get that they prob. Are milking the story for DLC or just hoping people fall in love with the game from the looting aspect but I don't think that would holdup, I never even used some of the labs to build your characters stronger or try to unlock poopy custumes because it was just tideous. You can complete the game easy with random loot boxes you run across from playing.

It was for my 8 years old kid who has more than 40 physical games. We never had a game that keeps installing even after the initial install. After playing for about 30-40 minutes, it is stuck at 87% and nothing works. It keeps saying “Content is currently installing. Please wait until the game is fully installed. It doesn’t go past the point where Captain America dies. It’s been more than 1 week that it’s like this. I don’t know what to do. My kid is angry!

This is a difficult game to review as it is a live service game which means at any point my nitpicks or likes could be removed. First off, this game looks just meh. The graphics are alright but you’re really hard pressed to see any small details when a large fight is going on. There are so many little particles flying around the screen that you’ll be hard pressed to really see anything other than a mass of lightning and explosions. Second, the campaign is good. It’s very cookie cutter, but that’s just Marvel. Even with a cookie cutter story, the missions are just difficult enough (hard and brutal difficulty) to keep you playing. That being said, there are multiple reskins of the same mission/area which is very repetitive and can get super boring. Also, whoever decided that we should have to defend a circle that is smaller than the range of a light attack should be fired because that’s atrocious. Next is the post-game, which is honestly minimal. It’s just a grind fest for levels and power. There’s no real incentive other than to be prepared for the next hero launch. Finally, the two crushing factors for this game are the bugs and skins. Starting with bugs, there are so many game crashing, level stopping, or visual bugs that you are quickly reminded you’re playing a game and not actually watching/being an avenger which really defeats the purpose of a game. Lastly, the skins in this game are WEAK. The invisible loot narrows customization and coupled with the fact that the skins are minor tweaks to the character (some even just color changes) and you have a game that has characters who’ve been around for years that are limited to 10 costumes. Hulks are by far the worst, unless you like a slightly less green hulk, a hulk with tribal paint, or a hulk in a pinstripe suit. The worst part about the skins is that if you want a really impressive (legendary) skin, you get to shell out real money towards the full price game. I’m not sure why the chose the anthem method, but boy howdy is it bad. Overall this game is good but very rough at the same time. With a couple hotfixes, and hopefully some cosmetic drops, this game could survive until the next dlc. Avoid until then.

As a lifelong fan of Marvel comics and movies, I eagerly dove into the world of Marvel's Avengers on the PS4, and I must say, it's an exhilarating experience that truly makes you feel like a superhero.
Let's start with the storyline. Marvel's Avengers takes place in a rich and immersive universe where Earth's mightiest heroes have disbanded after a catastrophic event known as A-Day. Assemble your team of iconic characters including Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, and Black Widow as they come together once again to save the world from a new threat. The narrative is gripping, filled with twists, turns, and emotional moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
But what truly sets Marvel's Avengers apart is its gameplay. Whether you're soaring through the skies as Iron Man, smashing enemies as the Hulk, or wielding Mjolnir as Thor, each hero feels distinct and powerful, with their own unique abilities and playstyles. The combat is fast-paced and fluid, with satisfying combos and special moves that make you feel like a true superhero. And with a variety of missions, side quests, and challenges to tackle both solo and with friends in co-op multiplayer, there's always something new and exciting to do in the world of Marvel's Avengers.
Visually, the game is stunning. From the bustling streets of New York City to the lush jungles of Wakanda, each location is beautifully crafted with attention to detail that brings the Marvel universe to life like never before. The character models are incredibly detailed, and the special effects are nothing short of spectacular, especially during intense battles and set-piece moments.
Of course, no review of Marvel's Avengers would be complete without mentioning the customization options. From costumes and gear to skill trees and abilities, you have the freedom to tailor each hero to your preferred playstyle and aesthetic. Whether you want to deck out Iron Man in his classic red and gold armor or give Hulk a stylish new haircut, the possibilities are endless, allowing you to truly make each hero your own.
In terms of longevity, Marvel's Avengers has plenty to offer. With a robust post-launch roadmap that includes new heroes, missions, and events, the game is constantly evolving with fresh content to keep you coming back for more. And with free updates and no loot boxes or pay-to-win mechanics, you can rest assured that your investment in the game will continue to pay off for years to come.
In conclusion, Marvel's Avengers is a must-play experience for fans of the Marvel universe and superhero enthusiasts alike. With its gripping storyline, exhilarating gameplay, stunning visuals, and endless customization options, it's a game that truly lets you unleash your inner superhero on the PS4. So suit up, assemble your team, and get ready to save the world in the adventure of a lifetime. Excelsior!

It is fun playing all the characters move sets especially since there hasn’t been a decent Marvel game in ages. This reminds me of a modern take on X-men Legends ps2. The combat is fun with decent graphics. The performance dips at times and the enemy variety and gameplay loop is repetitive which is why the live service aspect worries me. I can’t help but feel Anthem deja vu. Fighting robots and transporting soldiers will get stale pretty quick. Square Enix has made the gameplay loop about clearing hordes of the same enemy varieties with rather bland objectives. It’ still fun for an hour or two session. I really enjoyed the campaign and hero story missions even though there were only 3 villain bosses rest were robot variant bosses. So many villains in Marvel and they chose robots. Kind of lame but i am banking on the story missions in future free dlc to carry this game. It really deserves 3 and half stars but i round up to 4. The future of this game is going to come down to variety. I hope they support it with fresh and new missions and not count on just new heroes and their abilities in the same repetitive gameplay loop. This game can be something great with time if they make good decisions. Time will tell. I am a skeptic caus so many publishers take the quick and cheap route when content is advertised as free in the live service model. This will be my last live service game i buy if it is not successful but I hope Square Enix proves me wrong.

Obviously any game bearing the Marvel logo is going to get a lot of attention. Going in this game obviously tries to tie represent itself as a more realistic Marvel Cinematic Universe gaming experience, but immediately is missing the character likenesses of the actors who play the characters in the films. Many fans have called the characters B-movie replacement standins for their actual film counterparts. In the first hour of gameplay Iron Man comically makes a comment about the villians as such, haha. The game itself plays great on PS4 and gives you two options for visuals with either a performance mode or a cinematic mode. The later letting you scale up to 4K but maintains up to 30fps. The game presentation is good, comparable to other great titles in the Square Enix library. And the game will support advanced features on the next gen consoles, with the PS4 version apparently getting Spider-Man as well. The gameplay and story line are great with a fairly good single player story that has unique hub missions where you can team up with friends or strangers for online multiplayer missions. So far, roughly six hours in I've had a great time with the game, though I don't know how many total hours I will get from it. A lot of the game mechanics push the player into replaying levels to fight villians and get better loot, similar to Destiny. So if you enjoy the Avengers and like Destiny you'll probably enjoy this game.

The audio and visuals are top notch. The campaign, though brief, is a fun experience, despite the protagonist being obnoxious. The combat is unique and fun with each character. Endgame is repetitive. There are some quality of life bugs that need to get ironed out ASAP.

Marvel's Avengers is a great game with a fun premise. Without giving away anything, let's just say that you can play as the other Avengers, but this game focuses mainly on Kamala Khan's origins, and how she grows into her role within the Avengers. The gameplay is pretty solid, but can be pretty repetitive after a while. You do the same attacks, and press the same buttons, and even when you get all of the upgrades they are pretty similiar.
The graphics are some of the best I've seen this gen, and the colors really pop on the characters especially Incredible Hulk.
All that really matters, and that you really need to know is that the game is fun, and although can be repetitive, it does have really good graphics, and is a good use of the Avengers license because of all of this.

The overall graphics are amazing. The main story line is perfect for marvel fans. However most missions are a lot of the same battles over and over and can become boring.
