We got so tired of researching washing machines. We thought we had a winner in Samsung 6 yrs ago, it turned out to be a lemon - and a costly regret. We thought we'd do a better job this time around, but honestly - there was nothing that stood out from the crowd (other than Speed Queen but that's out of our budget). So - we waltzed in to Best Buy, looked for one Made in the USA, compared a few, then said "This one" all in about 10 minutes and hoped for the best. It's not like you can take it for a test drive. We THINK we have a winner this time. Pros: Sturdy, takes up less space than our Samsung, agitator is a must (learned our lesson on that), allows you to select extra water (something we really missed with our samsung), the angled detergent dispensing cups will prevent fluid from settling which causes mold/mildew, simple design (don't need a 1000 options for washing clothes), user friendly (really don't need the manual - it's that easy), surprise touch-pad panel is nice, GETS CLOTHES CLEAN (at last!). Cons: Loud (I wish it was quieter, but I'd rather have clean clothes & dependability), touch-pad is just one more thing to break (didn't realize it was a touch pad, thought it was buttons - wanted simple - no more fancy digital machines that play music), and the one thing I don't like - if you accidentally TOUCH the on/off button during a running cycle - it immediately starts shutting down, draining the water out - and you cannot stop it. Once you touch that - game over. I accidentally brushed it while reaching for something - and bam - washing stopped, water started draining - and NOTHING was going to change it. :( Had to start the wash cycle over again. Ugh. All in all - it's simple to operate, has all the options you realistically need, it's a little on the loud side, and doesn't play Beethoven, do your child's homework, or play fetch with the dog - it's a washer - it does the job you've paid way-too-much for it to do (why are washers so expensive now?), and my clothes are SO so clean. We are very satisfied with it so far. We would recommend this washer!

Needed a large washer and it had to be with an agitator. This washer is probably the best I’ve ever owned. Quiet, easy to use and cleans extremely well. Number 1 is that it’s made in the USA employing American workers with a TEN year warranty. That tells me it was built well!

Bought this washer to replace an old Whirlpool, which had its agitator go out. Really wanted an agitator washer, but had read lots of reviews that said modern washers never fill with enough water, and that modern agitators don't really do what you expect them to, sometimes shredding clothes that never get fully wet, or don't have enough water to move around in freely. I saw a few favorable reviews on this one, as well as from third-party sites that reviewed appliances, and this one seemed to rank high. The thing that eventually sold me on it was the deep fill settings. It can be a little confusing, as certain wash cycles don't allow max water fill, but the deep fill definitely allows enough water for the clothes to move freely. It's not completely to the top of the tub, but it's plenty for clothes to float around in (provided you don't overstuff the tub). I feel the extra movement and water volume allows for a better clean, and helps prevent damage to clothes if they can't really swish around. The agitator also seems to work fairly well. While clothes don't get turned over rapidly, it does eventually turn them over after a few minutes. The clothes on the bottom will get drawn to the top, and the clothes on top will be drawn under. Perhaps not the most efficient agitator, but it does what it's intended to do over the course of the wash cycle. (Certainly better than not having an agitator at all!) There's an impeller at the bottom, too, so combined with the agitator, there's a lot of movement. The downside to the impeller is it can sometimes twist clothes, but it hasn't caused any real issues in the month I've been using this washer. One downside is there is no built-in faucet, so to pre-dissolve oxy powders and the like, or pretreat stains, you need to go to a separate sink. The glass lid is a bit of a moot feature as, even on cool temperature setting, the glass tends to get a bit foggy, so you can't quite see the contents of the tub anyway. It still gives it a modern and sleek appearance, though. On the positive side, the lid also has two "up" positions, one fully open, and one about 3/4 open. This allows free access to overhead cabinets, room to open the doors, while keeping the lid up. As far as the "Extra Power" button goes, I'm not entirely certain what it actually does. When I push it, I do notice that it adds a few minutes to the wash duration. Maybe it makes the agitator spin faster, or more rotations per minute? I'm not a scientist. Regardless of the exact technology, I'm sure the few extra minutes of agitating does help to some degree. One thing I've noticed, which is slightly concerning, is when the washer is sensing the load, and doing its pre-wash, pre-rinse "test" spins, the inner tub can sometimes hit the walls/shell of the washer, which is fully visible and audible as the metal gets pushed out. So far it's not a severe problem, no dents or damage or anything of that nature. The sensor seems to do a good job at making adjustments to balance it before it gets out of control. If the auto-balance sensor and mechanism ever do go out, though, I imagine it could be quite a big problem. I really like that it has a dedicated detergent and softener tray. As part of the tub filling, the water is pushed through those tray compartments at the appropriate point in the wash cycle. I like that the wash liquids get mixed and diluted with water a bit before being added to the load. One drawback to the tray, however, is that there will still be a bit of water in it after the wash has completed. If left this way, it can take on a mildew smell, as the tray does not have enough air circulation to allow for adequate evaporation of the water inside. It's simple enough to slide the tray out and dump the water, or to use a freshly washed sock to absorb the excess water before tossing it in the dryer, but is certainly an extra step to keep in mind. This washer was a bit on the pricy side, but I think it was worth it. Hopefully it will serve me well for another decade, as my last washer did.

I love the agitator , really washes well . My last one didn’t have one and I never felt it cleaned as well as it should of . So nice to be back in business and the clothes always come out perfect !

I have had this washer for a month now. I wash at least one load a day and I have never been more happy with a washing machine. It cleans our clothes so well (2 dirt loving boys) which may sound obvious, but our last washer I purchased brand new and had 5 years never cleaned our clothes well. I was hesitant about the digital controls because I think more simple will last longer, but they have been a breeze to use. Love the app feature that lets me know when my cycle is complete on my phone since my machine is in the garage, so I can go switch the clothes over to dryer. Saving my pennies for the matching dryer. My requirements when researching a new washer were, I wanted a Maytag (my last was not, still a good company, but I wanted the reliability, then I wanted a center agitator, my last did not have and I wanted top load and larger drum capacity than my previous model. That is what lead me to this model. I would purchase again in a heart beat and would give it a 10 so far. I am only a month in so I hope I will feel the same a year in.

So far, so good. This machine replaced a Samsung that had all kinds of problems. So far we are really liking our new Maytag. It’s easy to use, cleans good, clothes are not tangled in the agitator, and it has a cool app that tells you when your wash has completed! And... it comes with a 10 year warranty on some of its parts!

Our older washer suddenly developed a problem with the bearings, and it was time to buy a new one. I read some reviews and finally decided that this Maytag had what I needed, and with a sale at the time, the price was reasonable, relatively speaking. I liked the agitator because our older one did not have one, and it became unbalanced fairly regularly. I also thought the app-based notification would be nice since our washer is in the basement. Delivery and installation were great, and the machine immediately went to work. Using it was fairly intuitive, and the results were very impressive when compared with our old machine, though we thought the old one did just fine! The new is a definite improvement. Noise is decent, though it's not "quiet," and we've washed some larger items with good success. I still haven't used the app notifications though! Once thing that was nice is that it's smaller than our previous Whirlpool Platinum machine, both in height and width. The glass lid is nice to see what's actually happening rather than just guessing at the mysterious process inside. Only downside is that water seems to sit in the detergent dispenser tray after each cycle. I'm not sure if adjusting the feet on the bottom would fix it (ie., tilting the machine toward the back). It's not a huge problem because the tray pops right out and back in for draining, but it seems like a small design flaw. Other than that, we're very happy. Hopefully the old dryer holds out!

I've had this machine for five months and so far so good. I especially like that it has an agitator. Items come out much cleaner than they did with my previous impeller-type washer. It also has not gotten unbalanced once so far - not even when washing small rugs - whereas my previous washer did so more often than not. It can be a bit noisy at certain times within a cycle - but that doesn't bother me. I would recommend this machine.

I purchased this washer over 2 months ago and will be receiving the third one in a couple weeks. The first one worked fine the first day but when I attempted to do laundry a few days later the led screen would light up but show no words so I was unable to make laundry choices. Since it was only a week old I called for an exchange rather than attempt a repair. The second one arrived and the delivery men turned it on to run a cycle and they were gone only a short time when I glanced at the screen and saw an error message saying the rinse water was too hot and to check the water connections. I called the delivery guys to come back and they were unable to resolve the issue but thought it was because the washer did not have clothes in it. Unfortunately the next load of wash I did still had the same error message and it continued to show the error with each subsequent wash. I checked the water just to make sure it was not so hot it would damage clothes and found it was actually cold. Not wanting a washer with a screen that was not working right in a washer less than a week old I called Best Buy for another exchange. That one will be delivered in a couple more weeks. I have to say the washer itself works great. I wanted a washer with a real agitator after years of frustration with my HE washer not getting clothes clean. I went with what I considered a leader in the washer field and one of the few companies still building in the US but am truly disappointed in the quality of their electronics and their lack of information when a error message does come up. Troubleshooting info is pretty much nonexistent. At the end of the day I would probably recommend this washer from a cleaning perspective but warn anyone who purchases one to run it often early on so you can discover whatever issues there are with their digital screen.

Keeping in mind our old Maytag washer was 20 years old and never had any problems with it I never considered anything but a Maytag to replace it. They have been some changes in all these years though. I never expected a cycle of clothes to take an hour to complete. Wasn't sure I needed remote access, but I tried it out. I had also read the reviews about it being excessively noisy. First the noise issue, it is a different noise than I was used to because of the different method in which it fills, washes and spins but noisier, I think not in fact quieter than the old one. The longer cycle time is taking some time getting used to, but I understand it now and the clothes are coming out cleaner than ever before and they do not take near the time in the dryer as they used to. The remote access is nice when it works, load it in the morning and start it before I leave work and when I get home pull them out and into the dryer. The problem is that I am having to constantly reload the app because it will not connect, and I have not produced a reason it does this. And it always does this when I need the time the most. Overall, it looks good, has a huge wash load capability, and works like a champ!! I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

My first major appliance purchase and I couldn't be happier. Every washing machine I've ever had has been an older, used machine. This Maytag had just been released. Apparently appliances have seasons and washer and dryers come out in the Fall. Top loading is far superior to a front loader and this one has a see through lid which is fun. Front loaders stink and create mildew. It also has an agitator which is key. Don't let them sell you on a washer without an agitator. I also love that its not very efficient so it actually gets your clothes clean. We had an efficient washer before and it totally sucked. The clothes never got clean and the dryer never had any lint because of the poor cleaning. I'll save the environment in other ways, but not with a washing machine. Clothes come out super clean and the lint trap in the dryer is full every time so you know your clothes are clean. Its extremely quiet and it doesn't dance around the laundry room or vibrate or make any weird noises. You can also control it from the Maytag app on your phone which is convenient. Good stuff! Highly recommend.

Our old Samsung washer just wasn't getting our clothes clean and was showing rust everywhere. After looking at Consumer Reports and reading various reviews we settled on Maytag. The machine is wonderful and our clothes are super clean now. I was worried as some reviews thought it was too loud but it is a machine...of course it is going to make some noise but honestly nothing worth mentioning. The Best Buy delivery team was super nice and professional!

My LG washing machine broke after 5 years and was not repairable. The repairman advised me to purchase Maytag or Whirlpool (avoid Samsung and LG). With my family all at home, I needed a machine with a quick shipping date. This machine was available. I am still getting used to it. It has an agitator and my previous machine did not. Cons: The machine has an app which took me several attempts over multiple days to get to work.. although I do not think an app is that important on a washing machine. It does show me how much time is left on the machine which can be helpful. The app does not seem that great. On the normal/regular wash setting, it only has 2 choices for the spin speed- fast and no spin. There is a medium option however it is not available on the normal setting which really does not make sense to me. The machine also does not have a color setting (which my previous machine had). Pros: Sleek looking and fits a large load easily It is a nice washing machine. I prefer the features on my previous machine... hopefully this machine lasts longer than 5 years. It is a nice washing machine with good features.

It's definitely smarter than my old washer (a Maytag) and it's a bit louder, too. I'm still trying to get used to the way it works (assessing the load, using only the amount of water IT thinks it should). I do like the wifi feature (it notifies me when the load is done) and I can check to see where in the cycle it is from my phone. I chose the non-HE version and I think that was the right thing for me. It has some very nice features, and I'm still discovering them. It is also has a lot bigger capacity than my old one. This one would hold a bedspread, AND sheets and maybe a few more things. It does seem to do a very good job on the clothes.
