It almost caught my house on fire last month due to a faulty heating element. I had to call the fire department and all of my clothes melted inside the dryer. I am very lucky I caught the fire when I did or my whole house would be gone. Maytag sent an independent repair company to diagnose the problem, and they said it was the faulty heating element. Maytag will now not honor any compensation for damages or a new dryer, even with a fire department report and their independent service repair report. For a company who claims 10 yr parts and warranty, I am nothing but disappointed. Read the fine print of what their warranty covers. 2-yr old dryers shouldn't catch houses on fire. I would never recommend this dryer or company to anyone and will never buy their products again. Would have rated it a 0 if I could.

Actually we purchase this with an open box deal had a minor dent on the back panel and had a crack and the plastic on the front panel controls not bad for a couple several hundred dollars off
