Tried other ways lead to frustrated efforts. The rigidity of this vice wire was a no brainer. It took the radio out easygoing.

These simple pieces of stiff wire make extracting a radio from older Ford products a breeze. Just insert one into each side of the radio face in the holes provided and pull out. Voila! The detractor: kind of expensive for what they are and the number of times you are likely to use it.

If you own a Ford product you need this. My radio display cratered in one of my Explorers and Ford wanted $450 to replace the entire otherwise working radio. I found a repair service that would repair the radio including shipping for $75 if I mailed the radio to them. I went to the Ford dealer and they wanted some insane amount of money and time to pull the radio. I shamed them into using these same tools to pull the radio right there in the drive-thru for free. Could have been a disaster if I had not been a long time Ford customer.

After attempting to remove my stereo using anything I could find that seemed to fit into the holes and getting very frustrated, I decided to buy this tool. It was so easy that I can't believe I wasted as much time as I did trying to save a few bucks. If you have a stereo that needs this type of tool to remove, buy the tool and save yourself the headache.

Just as good as any other set I've used. And just like every other set, the metal used is soft so they will bend if you're too rough on em.

When i was purchasing my new radio and accessories, this item was recommended. Others were tell me that any old small screw driver would work. I bought the removal tool anyway and NO! ANY OLD SMALL SCREW DRIVER WILL NOT WORK. This tool saved me from a lot of aggravation and head ache. Well worth the money.

After watching a YouTube video on removing a factory radio, I bought this tool. At first I had difficulty, but realized that I wasn't inserting it quite far enough in (push it in until you feel the click of the release mechanism engage in the notches). After I corrected my mistake, the radio slid right out.

It's a simple device that works well for what it's supposed to, but it's do overpriced for what it is and it's something you'd asassume should be bundled in the installation kit.
