Pros: -Looks more fashionable than most other smart watches -Can have clock face always on -Performs expected features of smart watch (notifications and fitness tracking) Cons: -iPhone users must use Google apps and won’t be able to receive text notifications on watch without turning on text preview (shows messages on Lock Screen) -2-3 second lag with tilt to wake and sometimes with using touchscreen -Unreliable battery life -Heavy and hurts wrist After weighing the pros and cons for a day, I ultimately ended up returning the watch. I loved the way it looked and was okay with not being able to respond to calls or texts on it, but ultimately the dealbreaker was that it hurt my wrist after a few hours. I like my watches to be tight, but there are small clasps for this watchband (to make it easy to change) that dug into my wrist, as did the the heart rate sensor that sticks out of the bottom. When I loosened the watchband, it was still uncomfortable because the watch itself is heavy and slid around on my wrist.

This is my first Michael Kors watch and I love it. It's a little bit big but I was still recommend it to anyone an amazing quality for the price

Nice watch! I’ve heard that many times during my first few weeks with the MK Runway smartwatch. This particular smartwatch is a departure from I’d come across because it is a beautiful merger of classic watch aesthetics with digital technology. From side angles you might mistake this digital watch for an analog one. Early smartwatches were a lot like early hybrid cars. They were overdone, and made to look too out of the ordinary. Now hybrid cars are looking more mainstream, and so are smartwatches. I am a watch freak, with a collection of over 25 watches. I am a fan of design, engineering and technology. The Runway has found a home in my watch collection sitting next to a full mechanical watch that runs off of gears not electrons. The MK Runway uses the Wear OS by Google, which keeps getting better with every update. There are so many features available to the wearer that it’ll keep you busy during many lunch breaks figuring it out and setting it up. MK makes it a lot easier to do this by providing video tutorials that walk you through configuration. Very helpful! For me I mostly use the smart features for getting messages, being notified when I get a call. Letting me know when I have an appointment. As I’ve gotten older it’s nice to have a device to remind me of things I might have otherwise forgotten. Speaking of getting old… My eyesight gets crappier every passing year. Reading glasses (i.e. cheaters), are a part of my life now. A benefit of the Runway watch is it’s large very bright and very accurate AMOLED display. I can almost see it without my glasses on! LOL! The Google OS software allows me also to make the fonts larger, and if that doesn’t help the Google Assistant can be set up to tell me the time audibly just by saying “Hello Google - please tell me the time”. I find the Assistant to be as good as Amazon’s Echo technology, and better than Apple’s SIRI. I should mention that I’m an Apple iPhone user, and pairing to the MK Runway was effortless. Early smartwatches didn’t do well if you left their ecosystem (iOS vs. Android). Thankfully that is not a problem any more. I own the first version of the Apple iWatch, and still use it. This is just a much better watch, one that doesn’t look futuristic but has more features than I’ll ever need. A major complaint I have with my iWatch and most smartwatches, is that they don’t stay lit. Smartwatches conserve energy and extend battery life by turning off the display until needed. The problem with that is you need to flip your wrist to wake the display up. This has always been a complaint of mine as often I want to discreetly look at my wrist to see what time it is. Many times in meetings I will look down to my watch to see how much time is left before I need to wrap up. If the screen is blank I’ll have to noticeably turn my wrist. If I do that and the person I’m meeting with notices they feel like I have someplace better I need to go. I hate that! There is a new feature on the Runway that solves this problem. There is an option to keep the display lit in a low-power mode all the time! This is great! I’ve been waiting for this feature, and it now removes my hesitation for wearing a smartwatch daily. Yes, this feature does cut down on battery life. However I’ve had good results even in this mode. I’ve kept the watch display on all day at work and still had battery life left at the end of the day. I recharge it and start again. The Runway has all sorts of health related features in it, to monitor your heart beat, the number of steps you take every day. It integrates online with multiple different fitness websites. But to be honest I didn’t get this watch for fitness reasons. This is a fashionable watch. It’s rose gold exterior is shiny and good looking. I don’t wish to use this watch when I’m working out. I have another dedicated watch to do that. But I suppose it’s nice to know it can do both. Indeed this watch is waterproof, so you could swim with it. It’s also got a built in GPS, so it would be great to use in many fitness programs. But I use this watch for business purposes, it keeps me on time and organized. There are so many things to like about this watch, I am very happy with it and definitely recommend it. A watch to me is more than a timepiece, it is a piece of jewelry. That’s what sets the MK Runway apart from a crowded smartwatch space. It looks great, it is well made, extremely lightweight (one of the lightest watches in my collection). You barely feel it’s there when you are wearing it (a few times I found myself checking to see if it fell off). It sits extremely well on my wrist and has been my go to daily watch now every day since I received it. If you like the looks of the watch - buy it! There’s a ton of tech built-in, and I’m impressed by all of it. There’s a lot to like about the Runway by Michael Kors. If you already bought one - congrats! Awesome isn’t it? :-)

Michael Kors - Access “Runway” Smartwatch (MKT5046) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ***** The Review ***** My oh my is this Michael Kors smartwatch a beauty. I must say so myself, this smartwatch is a head turner for sure. You will definitely not be short on compliments. But the key thing to that you’re probably wondering… How does it operate/work? How comfortable is it? Well, let’s go ahead and dive right in to see. Setting up the Michael Kors Access smartwatch was extremely simple. One thing to note is that if you’re looking for some sort of manual, you’ll be left surprised that there’s only a start up guide. I feel like throughout my experience with this smartwatch, it would’ve been nice to have some sort of operations manual to show you all the neat features you can do as opposed to trying to figure things out on your own as you go. With this Michael Kors Access smartwatch, not only does it look stunning but it fits really comfortable as well. The smartwatch is a bit heavy but it’s definitely manageable. During workout sessions, you don’t have to worry so much about it sliding around; even if you are the type to sweat a good amount. Keep in mind, this Michael Kors Access smartwatch is water resistant, not waterproof. Although this smartwatch is designed to look more “classy” as opposed to other smartwatches, don't be fooled! It’s designed to look elegant yet be durable at the same time. If you need to remove link(s) on the smartwatch, you can either take it somewhere to do professionally or be like me and just YouTube a video on how to remove the links. It’s not too difficult to be honest. One thing to note here about the Michael Kors Access smartwatch is that it has its own unique proprietary charger. This may be a turn-off for some as some may want to buy a 3rd party charger but Michael Kors has done an excellent job with the design of their charger. It’s constructed so that it makes it more difficult for the watch to slide/fall off when charging. Since we’re speaking about charging, the battery life of the Michael Kors Access smartwatch is not as great as I’d like it to be. From just notifications alone without really using the smartwatch, at midday it already dropped to about 50%. In the morning on a full charge, it dropped 5% without me really doing anything at all. Most of the pros I listed above… If you’re looking for the cons, well here we go: Watch is not fully compatible with iphone. Limitation between Wear OS and iOS. I can see notifications of text, emails and calls but cannot reply to text or emails. I can answer the call but will need to use the phone to talk as opposed to speaking into the watch. The watch highlights this “Google Fit” feature but it’s very easy to use when you’re doing the basics but any other type of workouts, you have to scroll through ALL these variety of “activities” you can choose from. You keep scrolling and scrolling to get to “swimming” or “Other” where it only tracks time, not calories or anything else. I can control Pandora if it’s running on my phone. There is about a 3-5 sec delay for each button to take but that’s not a big deal, I suppose. However, for people like me who do not take public transportation or walk around a lot, this feature will be used little to none. I can put the watch on battery saving mode but this is basically putting the watch into airplane mode as it disables location services, wifi, mobile data, vibrations(for notifications). Since the phone and watch is constantly syncing, guess that’s the reason why it’s draining so quickly. Alarm feature is standalone where it does not sync with iPhone’s alarm. When the alarm goes off, you actually have to go into the alarm and turn it off as opposed to having it pop up on the screen to snooze/turn off which is a bit strange. Calendar, you’re able to select in Wear OS app between apple or google. It’s a bit wonky with the Apple calendar. Luckily I already use Google calendar and it shows up fine but I cannot add or modify or delete any calendar events from the watch. Overall, I have to say that the Michael Kors Access Runway Smartwatch is elegant, beautiful, yet durable. It will definitely have your friends, co-workers, relatives and random strangers ask you about it. But that is where it kinda ends in my opinion. I had so much trouble trying to use the smartwatch with my iPhone. At this current moment, I wouldn’t be able to recommend this beauty to anyone I know. This review is from the perspective of an iPhone user and a first-time smartwatch wearer. My wife has been the primary user of this watch. She is an iPhone user and was looking for a smartwatch that would provide some basic functionality, such as displaying text messages, notifying her of phone calls, counting steps, etc. This watch does all this but with some limitations if you’re an iPhone user. If you are aware of these limitations going in, you’ll be happy with this watch because of its design and beauty. It’s important to note that the primary operating system on this watch is Google’s Wear OS. If you are an Android phone user running the latest Android operating system, this watch will support even more functionality. I’ll outline the differences in functionality between the two OS’s next. Otherwise, if you’re an iPhone user, Apple does not allow non-Apple hardware to support some of its native functions, such as using the watch as a phone, replying to messages on the watch itself, Siri integration, and Maps and directions support. What is does support is visual notifications and vibrations when a call is received on your iPhone. You can answer the phone call on the watch, but you’ll have to use the phone to carry-on the conversation. When a message comes in, either through iMessage or another messaging app like Facebook’s Messenger, you’ll also get a visual and vibration notification on the watch. The watch will allow you to read your message in full, but if you want to respond, you’ll need to use the phone to message back. To some, like my wife, this is preferred; she can respond faster typing on the phone. So she is not bothered by this limitation. Regarding the syncing of Calendars, this watch does natively connect with the Calendar app on her iPhone. She can view all her upcoming appointments and receive notifications on the watch. In fact, the top right physical button on the watch is dedicated to the basic Michael Kors app. Since she hardly uses that app, she was able to remap the button to open the Calendar app instead. The ability to remap the hardware buttons is a nice setting and option made available on this watch. Continuing with the watch’s functionality, a significant feature she was really looking forward to is the watch’s ability to count the number of steps she takes each day, along with the many other health features it offers. Overall, she is really satisfied with the watch’s performance in this area. She normally uses her iPhone to count her steps, but she can’t keep track of her steps while working out. She doesn’t wear her phone on her while using workout machines or during her kick boxing classes. Now, she wears this watch during her workouts and it keeps track of her steps in whole. She even did a comparison between her iPhone’s count and the Michael Kors watch’s count on total steps, and they were both consistently close to each other. I even asked her about its size. The watch face is 41mm, that’s about the largest size of a face you’ll find in a women’s watch, and there’s a little weight to it too, but she says it feels fine on her throughout the day and during her workouts. The online instruction manual does recommend sliding the watch up the wrist further when using it during a workout. She followed those instructions and it stays in place above her wrist while working out. She did note that she thinks the calorie count is a little off (a little too high), but it’s not a deal breaker for her because she keeps track of her calories in other ways. All these health features built into this watch is driven by the Google Fit app. So over time, little things like the calorie count can be improved with future software updates. Another functionality of this watch that she uses while working out, is its ability to control her music on her phone. While playing music from a playlist, she can skip songs from the watch’s interface without have to touch her phone. We did notice that this feature is sluggish when it’s first initiated on the watch, but after a minute or two of playing music, it became much more responsive. Keeping with the health theme, she was able to customize one of the included Michael Kors watch faces to display information she is most interested in seeing. For example, in one face, she removed the heartrate monitor and placed the step counter on the screen instead (see pic). In another face, she included the date, day of the week, and step counter on the display (see pic). Like I mentioned above, because this watch runs a Google OS, it can integrate better with Android phones. Some of the things it does when connected to an Android phone is being able to respond by voice and/or by typing on the watch itself when responding to messages, ask for and receive turn-by-turn directions through Google Maps from the watch face, and initiate phone calls from the watch itself. Please note that this model only includes a mic for taking commands, or for communicating with the built in Google Assistant. It does not include a speaker for producing sound or audio of any kind. Overall, my wife is happy with this watch. She doesn’t use all it’s features, but the ones she does use work effectively. Even though there are limitations between this watch and the iPhone, she is not bothered by them. She is quite happy with its functionality, and definitely happy with its look and design. She would recommend it to others if they are looking to use it in a similar way as her.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this watch! (Did I mention I love this watch?) I’ve tried the Apple Watch, the ASUS Zenwatch, and later the Fitbit Versa. I found all the watches lacking in some way. The Apple Watch was uncomfortable, the ASUS lacked many features, and the Versa was just OK. It really wasn’t the fully featured smartwatch I had hoped it would be. The first thing out of the box was how stylish the MK Access watch was. I was a bit afraid that it would look too masculine, but the rose gold does a lot to soften the look. The second thing I noticed was how COMFORTABLE it was! This was my biggest fear. I have a larger-than-average wrist, and I thought I might have to look at getting a different band or an extra link. Good news! It comes with an extra link in the box! I didn’t need it, but how awesome is it that they included one? The metal band is easy to get on and doesn’t pinch at all. I am usually aware when I wear a watch, but I would frequently forget I was still wearing it. It was easy to set up. The watch is partially charged out of the box. I did have to plug it in for an hour or two to charge to 100% after I finished setting it up. I find the battery lasts for a day and a half. It charges super-fast, though – faster than my phone does. The charger is included, though it did NOT come with a plug, so you will need to use a USB hub or another plug to use it. The watch uses Google Wear iOS. It has the features you expect in a smartwatch. The watch buzzes to alert you to phone calls; you can also answer the phone with the watch. The caveat to this, though, is that you cannot use the watch to actually use the phone. The watch has no speaker and no sounds. You can control your Google Music as well – again, though, no speaker, so you cannot hear your music through your watch. You still need to use your phone. The watch also does not have its own GPS – it uses your phone for locating. One of the apps that uses this is Google Health. I won’t say that this app is as robust as the fitness tracking that Fitbit offers, but it’s pretty good. It would meet my needs. I tried the walk function and it located me, then allowed me to start and stop the tracking. It also recorded my heartbeats. The watch also allows you to take random heart rate readings without having to use the Google Health app. You can customize the watch with different faces, though I found the selection a bit limited. I didn’t see where you could download more options for the faces. More features include syncing with various mail apps, weather, and agenda, along with social media sites such as facebook. If you are in the market for a smartwatch, I would recommend the MK Access watch be put at the top of your list.

When I was first introduced to the world of smart watches, I was intrigued and impressed that all my communications could be managed from such a tiny device. It was like I was in an episode of Star Trek or some other Sci-Fi show. Being an Apple fan, I was of course drawn to the Apple Watch and at first, I thought some of the other smartwatches were really behind technology-wise. I feel like other systems like WearOS by Google have come a long way and when I was given the opportunity to check out this gorgeous smartwatch by Michael Kors, I didn’t let the fact that it wasn’t an Apple Watch keep me from using it. I actually got this watch for my grandmother. She is 85 years old and this summer, she got very sick with an infection. The infection cleared up thankfully, but she had a lot of extended care at home with physical and occupational therapy. They would check her vitals every time they came to visit and we began to think that it would be a good idea to have a smartwatch on her to monitor her heart rate and other activities more often then their visits. As it would happen, her simple wristwatch needed a battery. Since she was due for a new watch, we just replaced it with this beautiful smartwatch. The band of the watch is a standard link-based band. The watch does come with the clasp-style closure pre-installed but you can swap it out for a buckle-style closure, which is included in the box.. And the links can be removed, but a tool isn’t included. Since we did not have a link watch adjustment tool available, we visited a local jeweler and had several links removed from the band so that it would fit my grandmother’s wrist. This was a delicate balance because the watch features the heart rate sensor on the back of the watch face, which needs to have a solid connection to the wearer’s skin, but she likes her watches a little loose. We ended up finding a good balance between her comfort and what the watch needed for connectivity. One of the main things that the watch needs is a smart phone or tablet to connect to. My grandmother doesn’t have a smartphone, but she does use her iPad quite a bit. So, we connected the watch to the WearOS app for Apple devices. The app is not optimized for use on an iPad so the screen is. viewable in portrait mode only. The data does transfer over as it should but there is limited functionality between the WearOS and iOS systems. For example, you will get a notification of an incoming call (if you have the watch connected to a phone), but you can’t answer it on the watch. The call will be answered on the phone. Another limitation has to do with the Calendar. If you use Google Calendar, you won’t have any issues, but if you use Apple Calendar, the translation is a little funny. For my purposes — being able to track health stats on my grandmother — it works great. But if you are looking for a fully functional smartwatch, you might want to pair this one with an Android device rather than an Apple one. As far as style goes, this watch really steps up the game. It looks like a high-end wrist watch. The detail work is phenomenal and it really shines. I don’t think there is any other watch out there that can stand up to it as far as style goes. I can recommend this smartwatch based on its ease of use and style. I would, however, caution users about the limited functionality with iOS smartphones and tablets as that might be cause for a below-average user experience.

Was a gift for my wife. She seems to love it as much as her Apple Watch. The sale price was amazing so I had to get it for her. You know how it is guys. She always needs something new and shiny right lol.

I researched this product for a while and was on the fence about purchasing it because of some reviews. I had been wearing a fit bit charge for 3 years and I missed having a “real” watch. I considered an Apple Watch, but it really didn’t matter to me if I could answer calls or respond to text messsges with my watch. I can still view incoming calls and text messsges from my iPhone on this watch and it’s so stylish compared to having a black square for a watch. Battery life is exactly what other reviews have stated. I get about 10 hours and that is with me keeping the display on all the time. The clock face will stay on a ghost look until you move your wrist so you can always see the time. The watch occasionally disconnects from my phone, but it hasn’t been a major issue. I’ve noticed this if I’m too far from my phone or change location with a different wi-fi. My phone is with me at work but I cant use it, so it’s nice that a quick glance at my watch let’s me know who is calling or texting me. I like to keep track of my steps and it seems pretty accurate. Set up was extremely easy and you really learn about the watch functionality by just playing around with it. I have owned it for three weeks, wear it everyday, and I am not disappointed with my purchase. I have also received many compliments on this watch.

This is the best smartwatch I have purchased. I get a lot of complaints everywhere I go. Easy to read. No more irritated wrist. I have tried 3 other smart watches. This one overall is the best.

The watch is beautiful, and I get a lot of compliance on the look of it. Functionality is great. Does everything I expected it to do. Like others, I'm disappointed in the battery life. I start wearing it around 7 am and it's below 10% by 10 pm.

Love the look,very easy-to-use and setup. Beautiful display.Loved the different watch faces. Able to make phone calls and find my phone after misplacing it. It's very nice that I don't have to worry about getting it wet. The reason I did not give it 5 stars Was the battery life it lasts maybe 15 to 20 hours at times very inconvenient.

This is a really pretty watch. Lucky for me, all I really needed was a watch to keep track of time at work. I took it as an invitation to finally buy a smartwatch, and this one had a good pricetag. The features are great once you actually find them by yourself since there's no real "startup guide", the one included just instructs you on syncing it with your phone. With casual use and doing barely more than checking the time and reading a few texts as they came in, this watch lasted me 9 hours. This works for me since I work 8-9 hour shifts at work, but it's a little irritating to buy a fancy name brand product that doesn't last all say. The box says it will hold a charge "up to 24 hours" and I'm tempted to test the theory by unplugging it and not touching it at all to see how long it would last. My only true gripe with this watch is that when I turn my wrist toward me to look at the time the watch only lights up for about 2 seconds. There doesn't seem to be a way to alter this besides turning on "always on display" which I definitely don't want to do given the battery life. 4-6 seconds would be ideal, I'm getting anxiety checking the time. Would I recommend this watch? Yes, with limitations.
