When I first saw this laptop being introduced by Microsoft I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I purchased it on day one. I have not regretted purchasing this device. Microsoft has designed a great laptop. This device and Windows 10 is a winner.

I wasn't sure about purchasing a new computer, but the Microsoft Surface is so versatile and useful, that I'm glad I did. There's so much to learn, but it has been pretty easy to use. The hardest part was figuring out how to plug it in, salespeople should warn those of us who aren't up-to-date on all the latest technology details. A super computer for anyone who likes a laptop, but also likes a tablet.

Lightweight. Easy to use. Touch screen and stylus/pen are AWESOME. Screen clarity is excellent. I love using facial recognition instead of a password! Very easy to navigate and, so far, has met every need except one...It needs a video output to project presentations.

Absolutely love this laptop! A touch screen computer is something I never even knew I needed. However, I can't seem to download apps from the Microsoft store. Always an error. Something Microsoft needs to fix because it has made my near $2000 laptop only slightly more useful than my previous 5 year old HP. I believe this can be fixed with an update. Assuming so, I would absolutely recommend this to a friend but if it does not get fixed I'll be returning

I knew what I was getting into with the premium price of this product, but made the jump as I felt the unique features would be worth it in my case.
As an art teacher the surface seemed like a good replacement all in one for my use. Powerful laptop for normal productivity, and a tablet with excellent drawing for personal work. It is easy to share on the projector to show students skills as well.
The premium build is nice, but the premium price compared to other Windows laptops is hard to swallow. The pen was the selling point for me though, and still worth the jump.

1. Great design ;
2. Windows updates can put this machine at top condition, no need to use any other applications like drivers updated.
3. Battery lasts 10 hours.
1. Too expensive
2. The face reconigtion does work that well.

Microsoft finally got it right

After several generations of failed Surface Products, Microsoft has finally figured out how to make a next-gen computer. The Surface Book is perfect for me, it is mostly a laptop, which suits my purpose, but becomes a tablet with literally a push of a button. It's very easy to remove and put back on the base, and the switch from laptop to tablet mode is quite seamless.
The battery life is also great, I've been using it pretty steadily during the day, and I've never had an issue, I get at least 5-6 hours from it.
I personally don't mind the angle and space between the base and the tablet; it's still quite slim, and it fits perfectly well in the laptop bag I use. Also, the screen really does hold well at any angle, it never really slips, so the fulcrum is doing its job.
I love the laptop, and I've already shown 2 friends who went out and bought one the same week.

The surface allows me to do all of my schoolwork and game on low rates, not super low. I use this more so for school. Anyhow, I wanted a tablet and computer in one and this was perfect. I thought about an Apple IPad Pro, but it wasn’t for me because I wanted a new computer. Definitely enjoy everything about it when it comes to running all my programs and the interaction.

I bought this surface book as an open box buy because I was unsure I would like this item and didn't really want to pay full price. I was dead wrong. Great product both for it being windows and an open box item. I was ready to accept scratches and small dings. System came almost pristine. Though I have yet to find any kind of blemishes system runs fast and very responsive.

I love this laptop. I replaced my HP (I was brand loyal) after a liquid accident. I cannot rave enough about the pen feature, how easily it is to sketch up an idea, open photoshop or other programs and create while I am out and enjoying the world. Photo editing is quick and smooth.
It does everything I want and more.
It also has a beautiful design!

I was a little skeptical about paying so much for this since you can get a surface pro 3 for much less. Also I was back and forth on getting a Ipad that I thought would do similar functions. However I am so glad I bought this. I love the versatility and it kicks butt!! The batter life is awesome. I don't even take my charger to the office anymore. I can go a full day without needing a charge.

We have transitioned every member of our leadership team to use the laptop/tablet hybrid computers. They are excellent and everyone loves them. Please be aware, every once in a while one of the laptops will have some grease or some sort of lubrication on the part that folds up. I would recommend taking an alcohol wipe to that whole seam before using.

Hi Dylan,
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review on your time with the Surface Pro! We're glad to hear that your team is enjoying their devices.
As far as the grease you've been finding, this is odd, and surely not a normal experience. We've passed this information along to our team, and want to thank you for giving us a heads up!

I started grad school after 9 years and my current laptop was really outdated. I went to the store twice to see what was out there. I was overwhelmed by all the technology and was told to get a Mac. I never owned a Mac but own Apple products. When I was shown the surface pro and what it could do, I was sold. They called it the Mac of Windows. I was surprised at all it can do including touchscreen that even the Mac lacks in touchscreen and was more expensive than this PC. I use the OneNote application to jot down my notes in class using the surface pen. The screen completely detaches and turns into the size of the IPad Pro. It's very light and versatile! You will be the envy of your classmates! Super fast and lots of storage! Netflix movies looks great on this screen! Highly recommend this PC

I bought this for my wife and she loves it. Very slick and beautiful in comparison to other tablets out there. And because it's a PC, using MS office is definitely a plus when having to use MS Word or Excel, or doing PowerPoint.
