I had a cpl problems with the surface pen for a moment but it was just an issue of the battery becoming misaligned, and once it was fixed....its been perfect!!!! I love this computer, the best i have ever had!

I went in to buy the Surface Pro 4 and after close comparison of specs and the required accessory purchases, i.e. Key pad, and basic hardware comparisons, I chose the Surface Book to gain the extra real estate for the detachable display. I do a lot of visuals and having that extra space is awesome! Plus it's lightweight and powerful. I added an extra 128gb memory card which was on a great sale. Great solution!!

I love this product. Had surface pros before, but wanted something that was more sturdy and didn't fall over if on a table that rolls around my office. Opted for this guy. Great machine, performs better than any other surface product I've had, and with the dual battery (one in the tablet and one in the keyboard) the worthless 6 hour battery life that was in the surface pro is no longer an issue in this surface book. Biggest con is the procepoint. But so far, of say well worth it.

The Surface Book is a performance machine. When considering a new everyday machine for creativity, Djing and work Real Estate. I am continually impressed. The screen resolution, the quick-snappy-response with the OS is something I had only experienced with Mac Book's in the past. I broke up with Apple for my Surface, and I'm not going back. Windows on a Surface is unmatched. Plus the pen and the table functionality and the insane battery life make this an unbelievable machine.

I love this computer! It's functionality is perfect for people that want a tablet and a laptop. I take all of my notes for class on this. The pen is great but be careful if you write heavily; you may bend the tip of the pen. It still functions properly though. I do miss that it doesn't have a cd scanner, but you can buy an extension for that (and also most laptops don't have them anymore). Way better than a mac. Since it's a Microsoft computer, the office suite works great.

I chose this computer because I wanted something light and mobile, the fact that it also is a tablet was a plus. I also wanted something with an above average battery life. It says it has a life of something like 13 hours, but that is not the case. It might be more around 6. I also get a blue error message a lot when I hit the button on the pen to open up OneNote. All in all, it's a nice sleek computer/tablet but definitely not worth the money.

Hello Walsh, The Surface Book has up to 12 hours of video playback. Testing conducted by Microsoft in September 2015 using preproduction Intel® Core™ i5, 256GB, 8 GB RAM device. Testing consisted of full battery discharge during video playback. All settings were default except: Wi-Fi was associated with a network and Auto-Brightness disabled. Battery life varies significantly with settings, usage, and other factors. Bought for my husband who is taking video game design classes. It allows him to do things with ease all in one location compared to his laptop and separate Bamboo tablet. It travels nicely too.

This is a great laptop... but is very expensive... I also really like that I can use it as a tablet.. which I do quite often on the couch while watching TV.

Originally bought this for school, but ended up using it for business, school, and personal. It has a great battery life (about 8-10 hours of solid work without recharge). The detachable screen is fantastic for movies, or if you are going mobile to show information to people (the dock [sold separately] is very easy to attach and detach, but i perfer to remove the screen over the entire laptop). I have the basic version, so its not got a dedicated GPU, but i can still run Revit, Maya, and Unity without any issues.

Love it, i am a sr. Engineer and need power and portability. I haf the i7 and got the i5 and was worried but after 9 months i can state that the i5 is very powerful and i am avle to use dev studio 2015 and debug daily wiyh serial ports and a vmware of windows 7 running at the same time. I also was concerned avout space but with a 64gb sd card for documents and stuff i still have 40gb free on main drive with tons of sw dev tools installed.

This computer was the first higher end windows laptop/tablet I had purchase. Yes, these are priced inline with Apple, but far more advanced. These Surfaces have no lag time. Run quite and cool. This has windows 10 Pro. This I didn't know until buying the product. Windows 10 Pro is far better than the home addition. If you spend the extra money you will be very happy. Also, the keyboard has an additional battery which doubles the battery life.

I've only used the Surface Book for a month and use it frequently as a laptop and occasionally at as tablet. The stylus works as intended and the touchscreen more useful than I had guessed. No complaints about the speed, runs fast. The options for a good protective case are limited but still looking.

We love this computer. Portable and powerful. Love the magnetic stylus and magnetic charger connection to the computer. Great battery life. But be careful. Our first one got extremely hot to the touch. Too hot to sit on a lap. We returned it to Best Buy and exchanged for another one. The second one runs as cool as can be. The first one probably had a mechanical problem. Glad we got it for our primary computer. Definitely recommend. 4 stars because of first one heating up.

Love the touchscreen . Great keyboard. Touchpad has a louder clicking sound than I like-- and this can be disruptive as I frequently do some work in bed late at night when my partner is sleeping. I do like the pen.Even though it is magnetic to attach to the computer , I have lost it twice as the magnet is not strong enough!! Fortunately I did find it ! Overall I am pleased with my purchase.
