I read all the reviews for 2 in 1 laptop that had enough memory for my needs without having to rely on external sources and the Surface Book was the winner. I have used this in a dark bedroom and am amazed at how the camera can still recognize me to open and that it does not burn my lap or make excessive noise. The resolution is just beautiful compared to every other computer or cell phone. Have had fun with using it in the different configurations. Still learning all the features since it has only been a month but I would recommend this for anyone who needs a new laptop.

Nice 2 in 1 tablet/laptop. I'm still trying to get over how hard it is to open. Pretty fast at first, but after the last update, it takes a while longer to start up. For the specs, it can't handle running a VM without getting super hot. I've had it freeze up on me twice already. When you switch the screen from front facing to reverse facing with tablet mode, then switch it back to front facing and laptop mode it sometimes has issues or is a little slower. I have to reboot it to get it going fast again. Also the top of it is prone to getting scratches easily. Compared to my wife's Macbook Pro, I think Microsoft needs to get a better coating that is more scratch resistant. Sometimes the up/down arrow keys will not move the screen, I end up having to scroll with the touch screen. For the price, I don't think it's the best option. I'm hoping with time it will change my opinion. I might take it back and try the HP Spectre x360 15. The graphics are pretty nice and its a pretty fast laptop. The keyboard has good key travel and the mouse pad works great. The speakers are pretty impressive for such a small laptop as well. Windows Hello is a cool feature. I enjoy not having to type a password and having the system facial recognize me even in the dark! It's not a bad laptop/tablet, but for almost 3k, I expected more out of it.

I love this all in one tablet!!! It's powerful enough to replace my desktop while still being lightweight and versatile enough to be completely portable and easy to travel with. My all time favorite PC!!!

My wife is an artist and needed a computer she could use to do art on away from home. This computer can more than handle the programs and with it in tablet mode she is able to create new works when we travel.

Perfect fit for tablet/notebook users. While not perfect, there are still some minor issues when using with multiple monitors and so odd power-up issues but overall it's been excellent for me.

This device is computer, tablet, and more all in one. I love this machine. I have read some complaints about this device and my advise to these people is to update your firmware. If you make sure you update the firmware you will not have issues. Make sure you review all the features and you will be amazed at all it does.

This laptop is first rate in every sense but support is lackluster and it is not ready for prime time. MS has been busy with patches but issues still arise with battery discharging and not waking from sleep. I may be spoiled from owning multiple MacBook that have very few issues even at launch. For taking notes nothing is close to the surface line.

I purchased this for my wife who constantly needs the best in new gadgets, and let me say this is as close to perfect as a laptop/notebook can get. Its super fast and the solid state drive odes not add much weight, she replaced her surface pro 3 with this and she absolutely adores it. I'm seriously thinking about getting one to replace my laptop which is a lot heavier than this. so if you want the best in usable gadgets for work and play and one that takes most software unlike apple, I say buy this you won't be disappointed.

Good machine as long as the Windows 10 updates keep coming. Rated it a 4 because there are issues with the Remote Desktop and the high res screen. I am having to use a 200% zoom display to see the screen in a working environment.

This laptop is fast and powerful. There are a few bugs but the updates keep coming. I think once Windows 10 is fixed this will shine. The price is a little high but you get what you pay for. Runs steam games on med settings great

Great combination tablet/laptop. I had been holding off buying a tablet for several years waiting to find one with all the features I wanted. Wait is over. This is a very lightweight replacement for my laptop and works as a nice tablet (although the screen might be a little large for a tablet).

We purchased a couple of the SurfacePros to try out as replacements for desktop computers. Turns out, they work just fine. We are able to interface with all of programs, including private servers and email. The purchase of a docking station is a good purchase as well if you plan on keeping the unit on and in use for a majority of the day. The unplug and go option is a good way to keep work with you, even at home. The motor is quiet and sometimes you even forget that it is still on.

Been wanting to upgrade my Surface, but kept hearing about MS planning a "4" by the end of the year. So glad I waited. Bigger, much faster, better graphics. Got the Surface Book Love IT! The best of both worlds. Bigger screen than my last laptop, converts to a tablet, Does it all!

pre-ordered it the day following the announcement. after using it for about 2 weeks I can say with confidence : my 5 year old Sony Vaio Z (with external discrete graphics) runs circles aroun the Surface Book. on top of that, the build quality SEEMS to be good, but upon closer inspection the unit is somewhat bent when placed on a flat surface.

I didn't do any research on this. I saw this in Best Buy, checked it out and was so impressed I bought it. It's just good as the Mac Pro, and almost looks identical to the Mac Pro. Great features. Really love the face recognition. It's perfect for traveling; better than a tablet. It has a good battery life. It comes with a stylus pen which I really haven't experimented with yet. But so far, I'm extremely satisfied with it and would highly recommend it.
