Microsoft is getting into the game of designing connectors that don't fit right with anything else (e.g.. an angled plug), and then over-charging their customers for the accessories that use these connectors. But... if you have a Surface Pro 3 and need an Ethernet adapter, this is the one to buy.

Had to buy this adapter because the newer ultrabooks are so thin that there is room anymore for an ethernet port. I decided by the microsoft because I had an USB 3.0 port available and a Cat-6 ethernet cable, so I could obtain higher data transfer rates.

It has work great on my Surface pro computer. No problems at all.

Works well with SP3. Had no issues. Adapter is easy to use. Used several times in hotel room where wireless connection was slow but hardwired connection speed was great.

USB to Ethernet is a must when sometimes WiFi just won't do. With internet speeds exceeding the speeds of many general purpose wireless connections it only makes since to have a hard wire handy when downloading or streaming larger files or media.

If you are planning on using this in a work setting it is a must have. I know the docking station has an Ethernet port in it but when you are on the move and need higher speeds than WiFi can offer this is a must have.

Was not sure if needed but decided to purchase and have not regretted the decision. There are times when wifi is just too slow and it is nice to hook into the ethernet adapter and be on my merry way.

Bought this device because the OEM stuff seems more durable than the cheaper generic versions. This device works well when I need an Ethernet connection to my Surface Pro 3. Purchased one for each tech's device.

Got this when I was in a pinch and needed ethernet hookup for my Surface. Works great. The only issue is that there is only one usb port in the Surface, so if you need to use something else, you will need a hub.

Needed this for my daughter to hook into her college's network for the first time. She still uses it because it's faster than wireless.

I bought this just in case I need the full blast of Internet speed so I can move data up and down to IBM mainframes. Got it on sale for a good price. Looking to get HDMI cable next

Had to purchase this while I was on one of my recent travels due to the Hotel not offering WiFi. Works great highly recommend if you travel a lot like myself.

It works and operates as designed. It is certainly a great help being in IT to have a hard wired port when troubleshooting a network. It installed easily and functions without an issue.

This adapter works great when you need a wired connection for your Surface 3 Pro because wireless is not available or limited.

I've use this a handful of times for troubleshooting my network and it works flawlessly. Always good to have in the tool bag.

While I was unaware at first that my ethernet cord wasn't the right fit upon replacing it it works great

This is a great addition to the Surface. I don't always want to connect via wireless and this makes it possible--something other tablets can't do.

gets me high speeds when I need it. much less expensive than having to purchase the entire dock for ethernet

Bought it for my user to use with the Surface Pro 3, they use when they need to sync their passwords.
