I did lots of research after my MacBook from 2013 died and I’m so glad I switched from Apple products to this. The touch screen is really nice and the keys are comfortable for typing. It is so light and thin and the shape/design is really great. I saw some comments about this computer getting hot when you work on it for a while and being able to hear the fans but I haven’t had that problem yet and have spent several days on work from home meetings all day. This is a great computer for students and those doing every day work on a computer. The only con is the price point is a bit high but comparing to Apple products it’s a deal for what you get.

    Great Laptop

I absolutely loved my computer. I would give it a 4 1/2 out of 5 if I could! I have only 2 negative things to say: 1) it gets extremely hot if I charge it and use it at the same time and 2) after 4 yrs it just never turned back on again. Motherboard failure and all my data is gone. Heartbroken to say the least. Other than that it is an amazing laptop! It failing can happen to any laptop so don’t be worried this will happen only to this brand. I use it mainly for school work and between storage & function, it has been great! Not turning back on out of nowhere still has me perplexed. My advice for any brand of laptop- BACK UP YOUR WORK/DATA TO ONEDRIVE!

I bought this on a whim because my old laptop was dying on me. The guy told me it wouldn't overheat, it had more than enough memory for what I needed to do (aka write papers and assignments) and it's super light. I was sold! The only thing that I don't know if some of you might need is that it doesnt have a number pad on the side of the letters. It has the numbers on top in a straight line but if you're looking for a laptop with the number pad kind of like how it is on a calculator to do math assignments, you might want to keep looking. But other than that, this is perfect :D you could also buy one of those number pad things on the side, just saying '\'.'/`

Let me start with this computer is beautiful but has many flaws. The design is very attractive, its sleek, it feels nice, its easy to use, and the display was great. Being an Xbox gamer I chose this over a MacBook pro just because of the seamless integration of windows across all my devices and I needed something for on the go use with work or army classes or some light gaming. I have three problems since buying this thing. One, the fan is loud and it gets hot, even with light use such as browsing YouTube and uploading some iCloud drive or one drive files. Second, the performance is terrible. I expected a lot more performance compared to the money I payed. "Light" Gaming means extra light, this thing struggles to run even very old games. I struggled to get any quality and resolution from Rome total war 2. Battery life is also terrible compared to some other devices such as a MacBook pro. I purchased this a month before realizing they were dropping the surface laptop 4 which is has those much needed upgrades. For those of you shopping, go with the Surface laptop 4!

I have use several of these laptop in business. They are light and are easy to use with Office 365. They do tend to get6a bit warm in the older versions. We will see with the 3.

I like how slim & sleek this is. My only complaints are that 1) The USB port is a little snug, it can be awkward to pull things out, and because the base is so thin you actually have to pick it up to remove a USB. And 2) It overheats when you try to stream on twitch or play most video games. It's good for writing, email, social media, photo editing, basic browsing. But not heavier stuff.

The auto/adaptive brightness and contrast cannot be turned off without switching to incompatible graphics drivers which causes other problems so do not buy if you don't like auto brightness. It feels high quality. It can run hot. The hinge is great and it was easy to use a pen with it even though it can't fold all the way back. The keyboard feels good. It was hard to put the charger in when it is on a table. The screen has good brightness. I had problems with glare. Pretty silent even when running at max capacity. All in all, a good machine if you don't mind the things listed here. Given the fact that it had so many little problems I think it is overpriced for the specs. But it all felt high quality. In the end, auto brightness was a deal breaker for me, but some people love it or don't even notice it.

I was coming from a MacBook Air 2019... I wanted to try something new... When I opened the box, I absolutely fell in love with the Microsoft Surface Laptop 3... It was beautiful, screen was robust and gorgeous and the keyboard, WOW... loved it... but 2 hours with it, after setup, it started heating up... it was so hot that the top of the box that I had it in stated to somewhat melt, the charging brick was so hot, I couldn't even touch it... unsure why but I read up and it is common... I bought the first generation Surface Tablet and it went back because it heated up as well, thinking years have passed, it would have been fixed and improved... but from what I experienced with this beautiful machine, it wasn't... I was sooooooooooo sad... this machine was sooooooooooo beautiful and it really edged out aesthetically the MacBook Air... Maybe I had a defective machine, I really wanted to love it, but alas I returned it... maybe in 2 years again I will give it a try... I got it at a really good price too... BestBuy Elite Member Pricing... I love BestBuy!

Got this pink Surface for my teenage dtr, she loves it, , the apps, capability, easily turns on, navigation, she even loves the charger on the side., great audio. I've heard from others that surface get hot right away, my dtr is not having that problem & she uses it quite a bit, daily. I chose this one over MAC, as I have one for work as well, working out great. So far, we have no complaints. I have both Mac Pro & Surface, so I'm learning a lot about both, yet loving both. Perhaps biggest difference for me, might be money you pay for the name, MACPro was more expensive

    Wifi issues ruin it

Before purchasing, please, please PLEASE google 'surface 3 laptop wifi issues'. It's a known issue and seems like it will never be fixed. The only way around it I found was to turn on airplane mode before closing the lid so that the driver wouldn't know I put the laptop to sleep. But if your connection drops for any reason, you'll have to toggle airplane mode again to reset it. For a laptop this expensive, we should not have to deal with issues like this. If it were a $300 laptop, sure. But not $1000. Also, the machine runs hot. REALLY hot. My macbook air can sit on the bed while I stream netflix and the bottom stays totally cool to the touch, and the fan doesn't have to come on. This one's fan goes crazy after just a few minutes and feels extremely hot on the bottom even when I have it sitting on a table. When it does windows updates I have to literally open my window and set the laptop on the ledge so it gets cooled by the winter air. It's that hot. Long story short: I returned it. The touch screen was beautiful and amazing and even works with my HP pen. so I was really unhappy that the experience was ruined by these two major issues. So close to being a great laptop.

This laptop came highly recommended from several sources. So I purchased it with great confidence. However, on Day 4 I awoke at 6:00 am to the sound of the fan in the device running at full speed and the device was blazing hot. I unplugged it and waited for the store to open at 10:00 am. I returned it and even after four hours, the computer had not cooled down. We were afraid the battery would explode and cause a fire. I'm sure this specific computer was defective - not the entire line. And I'm grateful to Best Buy for their professionalism in handling the return.

And unfortunately i not able to return it.

This was way off my expectations. Not as powerful as advertised. It looks stunning but that's all about it. Screen is super reflective. The main problem being, it heats up pretty bad in minutes time to time, specially when charger is plugged in. Get a MacBook or any other laptop instead and save the frustration!!

Having owned a surface pro tablet for 4 years i was excited to buy a surface pro laptop. Unfortunatly this thing has been a giant headache since i got it. Constantly over heating. Usb port for a mouse is on the leaving it sometimes unreliable in how the mouse picks up signal. You cannot charge it and use it or it overheats. Prolonged use…overheats. It sucks. I wanted to like this very badly and i just dont. For the cost this should be a perfect functioning product and it has a long long way to go. I would not reccomend buying this product at all.
