As you can see from my pictures, they did a fantastic job slimming this thing down. Plenty of room for the next USB port on my laptop, which wasn't the case on the original wireless adapter. Works for all my Xbox One controllers, guitars included.

I figured out that this version of the xbox adapter worked for me. Very space efficient. Might bug here and there occasionally but it gets the job done. I have this adapter working for my Turtle Beach wireless headphones on my self built PC.

I originally purchased this to allow my PC to wirelessly connect an Xbox controller to it. So far, this has been working wonderfully for me when playing an older game such as Psychonaughts on PC.

I bought the dongle to play games on my PC. It took a few tries on my Ubisoft games. For steam and Microsoft games it was seamless. This dongle is really slim and should fit nicely 8n the back of the motherboard or laptop.

Works with Microsoft wireless peripherals much better than Bluetooth on my PC. Creates a more stable connection. No more sound drop-outs on my xBox Wireless Headset, nor any wonky behavior on my xBox Series X controller. Pairing is easy as well. It did require a driver that Windows 10 suggested via Windows Update. Once installed, press and hold the button on the adapter, then push and hold the sync button on your device. After that, once you fire up said device, it immediately connects to the adapter. The other cool thing is that you can do all the configuration through the xBox accessories app that would normally require a hard-wired connection to a USB port. Forget the wires, get this adapter!! Solid light on the adapter means solid connection to the device.

I plugged in, windows recognized the device and installed within 10 seconds. I turned on my controller and it synced right away. I turned on my wireless gaming headset (designed for xbox) and it too synced right away. Loaded a game and was able to use my wireless controller and wireless headset simultaneously without any issues.

There seems to be a lot of confusion in the reviews about whether people should be buying the official Xbox Wireless Adapter for their controller. Part of the confusion is Microsoft's fault. They include bluetooth in almost all of their modern controllers. So why sell a "special" adapter that is 2-3x as expensive as a bluetooth dongle? The quick answer is that this adapter definitely can be worth it. And no, it's not the same as a bluetooth dongle. I'll explain what I mean. Whether or not you should buy the official Xbox Wireless Adapter comes down to your environment. Wireless technology uses radio waves for communication. Radio waves are carried on different frequencies. Right now in your home you likely have two frequencies: 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz. 5 Ghz is used by modern Wifi Routers and some wireless home phones. 2.4 Ghz is extremely common and can be used by Wifi Routers, printers, displays, home appliances, home phones, AND bluetooth. And that last part is the key to what you should be buying. Because bluetooth uses the extremely common 2.4 Ghz frequency, it's very prone to suffering from wireless interference. Interference is when a signal in your zone conflicts with another signal in your zone and makes them both less stable. Because our modern homes tend to have so much 2.4 Ghz activity in them, bluetooth doesn't always work very well. So if you've tried to use a normal bluetooth adapter with your Xbox Controller and noticed that it either struggles to connect or ends up disconnecting all of the time, you likely are dealing with 2.4 Ghz wireless interference. This is where the official Xbox Wireless Adapter comes in. It's not using 2.4 Ghz. Microsoft has created something that they're calling "Xbox Wireless". They haven't shared exactly what frequency it operates on, but it's not 2.4 Ghz or 5 Ghz. Meaning that it shouldn't conflict with the stuff that you already have in your home. So if you've been dealing with those frustrating disconnections over bluetooth, then this adapter is definitely worth a try. If you don't have bluetooth and are considering this adapter, it'll probably work just fine. However you might have been able to get away with a cheaper bluetooth adapter. It all comes down to what's going on in your environment. Reviews of products like this are often ultimately unhelpful because everyone's environment is different. Someone saying "it works" doesn't provide any clues about whether it will work in your situation. So you'll see all kinds of back and forth reviews that reflect what is going on in each situation. The bottom line is that this is a good product and can be a great alternative for those that have been struggling with bluetooth issues.

I had been using an Xbox One controller with my PC through Bluetooth, but had some issues. The biggest issue was that in certain games, the controller would randomly unpair during gameplay, and continue with whatever the last inputs were. I got this is hopes that using the native wireless connection would fix the issues I was having, and it has. No more random unpairing. The only regret is not getting it at the same time as the controller. The added cost of buying it separately kills the value a little. Do yourself a favor and just buy the combo pack when you buy the controller. It's cheaper, and it'll avoid Bluetooth issues.

The product works great, plug and play. Did I need this, probably not since there are many work arounds with connecting controllers to a PC, Bluetooth, usb, or third part software. I mostly play Steam games with either a Bluetooth connected PS4 or Xbox Series controller. I needed this for one game, Warzone and it works flawlessly and small. I recommend this only if you don’t want to install free software to your computer since this is driver free and just works.

I just got new gaming laptop and I really wanted to use my Xbox Elite controller wireless with it. Enter the "Microsoft-Xbox Wireless Adapter For Windows". Oh my goodness! It is super easy to pair and use. Within moments, I was killing grubs in "Gears of War" and slashing warriors in "Hellblade". No lag at all. And just an all around great gaming experience. I can't recommend this thing enough. I'm still trying to get the hang of the mouse and keyboard thing, but for now, this is the way go. The price is right( don't let these go on sale...I'll totally buy 2 more quickly. Why are you even still reading this? but it in your shopping cart and get your purchase on!!

    Better than Bluetooth

I've been using an Xbox One controller on my PC via bluetooth for a few years. Overall, the experience was okay, but every so often I would encounter minor latency issues or problems with the device disconnecting and then reconnecting. I decided to purchase the wireless adapter to give it a try and I'm glad I did. The input latency is slightly better than utilizing bluetooth and I no longer have the random disconnection issues that I've been experiencing randomly for years. This was well worth the investment.

It does work reasonably well with Windows, which is useful. I am disappointed that they never put the effort in to getting it to work with Android TV, which would make it a lot more useful. It does what it promises, giving a wireless, but not Bluetooth, connection to XBOX-family controllers. It is plug and play, with detection and integration into Xbox related apps, from the Microsoft Store.

Perfect Replacement for Xbox Series X Controller

Because of the wifi6 router in my apartment and the various other signals from my neighbors, using Bluetooth to connect both my Xbox One and Series X controllers to my PC resulted in frequent signal interruption. The adapter that came with my Series X Controller for Windows 10 completely solved this issue, but unfortunately during a cleaning frenzy a quick, unintentional elbow snapped the internal electronics board in two. After receiving this product and plugging it in, I was good to go in less than ten seconds. Windows 10 installed the necessary drivers automatically, and the controller and dongle connected almost immediately. Highly recommend this over a Bluetooth connection despite the steep price, losing control of your character in the middle of a high-stakes PvP match can be very frustrating and the peace of mind knowing that you'll stay connected (at least until your batteries die) is totally worth it. 10/10, highly recommend. It even comes with an extension cable for extra range.

After trying to use my Xbox controller via regular Bluetooth it was constantly dropping connection and had configuration issues. This adapter fixed everything and i can use my Xbox controller on my pc without issue. Highly recommend even though the Xbox controller should be able to connect through regular Bluetooth connection.

This product does exactly what it needs to do, as I use this just about every day with my Pro Series 2 controller. It has never dropped signal, and the pairing feature works just the same as it does on an Xbox console.
