First of all the screen brightens and dims constantly no matter what you have the setting on. The battery is useless, the system is slow and ultra 4K display?! Not even close. Typing is not pleasant either. The only good thing I can say about it, is the shell looks nice and its thin and lightweight. Do yourself a favor, and get a 2-in-1 that runs Windows OS. Im returning this piece of junk ASAP!

I have never been so excited to receive and use a Chromebook before and currently use the Dell XPS 13 and a desktop....However, all of that is about to change thanks to Samsung. Detailed Review after 6 hours of use. The Galaxy Chromebook after 6 hours of heavy intensive business use has totally blown me away. I was not sure what to expect from Chrome OS let alone a high end Chromebook due to the price tag of this chromebook (The price is justified). There is so much to love about the Galaxy Chromebook but lets start with the screen. The screen is a gorgeous 4K screen. When watching 4K videos or streams on it I sit at my desk with my Jaw opened. The level of contrast is so impressive. The side by side comparison to this 4k Panel with a 1440P Monitor is so funny. I thought the 1440P Monitor was sharp....not even remotely compared to the samsung. The speaksers are also interesting they fire out of the right and left side of the computer and sound pretty good when watching 4K videos. Doing regular work on this screen is also such a pleasure. The screen is bright, sharp and just amazing...who knew I needed this. The all aluminum frame is extremely sturdy...this computer has ZERO flex...how is that possible with such a slim laptop....how?? Also, the Fiesta Red is so nice in person holy smokes. I thought that I would hate it after seeing photos but boy am I glad I have it. It pops and is sick. The keyboard is also a really pleasant feature. I have been typing on it all day (including this review). The Keys have decent key travel (I am not sure the exact amount) but I see no difference typing on this to lets say a current Mac without the new butterfly switches. The keys are a little mushy but I love that because I can type fast and barely even hear them being pressed. The keys provide really nice feedback regardless of where you hit them. The Trackpad is also exceptionally good. Its clicky and my finger glides nicely on it. The fingerprint scanner is a welcomed edition and works exceptionally well. I find myself locking the screen when walking away just so I can unlock it with the scanner. The Pen also is very nice it is hidden within the right side of the laptop. Writing with it was really nice. The only thing I didn't like was the lag of writing on this device. It wasn't terrible and I got used to it fairly quickly...I do plan on writing on this. Charging is fairly quick and uses USB-C. So far since I fully charged it I have used this intensely and two hours since I am at 73% so the 8 hours promised seems highly likely. The chromebook doesn't run too hot at all but when I did put it under heavy load it got warm but not close to how any other computer feels. Overall the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook might be the best laptop that I have ever used. I was so excited to receive this and start using it because I wanted to see if I can use Chrome OS over Windows 10 and the answer to that is yes...even as a business person. Chrome OS just works so well on this device and is such a joy to use it. I HIGHLY recommend this device and I may end up buying one for a family member. I will certainly be recommending this laptop to anyone who needs a day to day laptop for almost all of their computing needs.

Unit is only about 14 months old when unit failed. Unit does not power on. I checked the charger and it works fine. Purchasing this premium chromebook, one would believe it would be more dependable. Especially since I only used it on a limited basis. Unfortunately the unit is over the 1 year warranty. Major disappointment in the unit reliability.

the only impressive thing was the snappy red color as the chrome book response was slow and hard to navigate using touchscreen also while using the pen the program refused to end use of the pen function onscreen? Definitely won’t recommend unless you Love to troubleshoot. I decided to return and bought another HP with windows 11 which I am happy for!

    Brilliantly Beautiful, Frustatingly Flawed

The Galaxy Chromebook has to be one of the most intriguing and anticipated devices to come to the Chrome OS world in a long time. A super premium, ultra thin, incredibly beautiful chromebook is going to be polarizing in the best of circumstances. Some people want their laptop to be a workhorse (for business or for gaming). Some want theirs to be as thin and light as possible. Some people only think of Chrome OS and chromebooks as a budget ecosystem. The Galaxy Chromebook was meant to shatter expectations. It does that - in good ways, and bad ways, too. Out of the box the GCB is striking in all the ways you'd hope. The metal body is gorgeous and industrial - it's thin and angular and SHARP. The unboxing experience isn't quite the most awe inspiring device I've opened (the packaging design is kinda meh). But the device itself is just awesome from the moment you lay eyes on it. The brushed metal edging is probably the most eye catching element, even moreso than the beautiful red color. Of course the first thing everyone wants to see is the 4k AMOLED display and here's where the pleasure and the pain of the GCB starts to set in. There is no question that the 4k screen is AMAZING for contrast and sharpness. It just looks incredible. Samsung touts the color gamut as 100% sRGB and DCI P3 for photo and video editing and I can believe that and take them at their word (in the absence of testing gear or a real need to edit photos). The frustrating part of the display is right now Chrome OS doesn't offer much in the way of color tweaking for video, and many movies I tried to watch were overly saturated and suffered from black crush unless the brightness was cranked up to maximum, which of course makes the whites pop so much it will blind you on bright scenes! So the display is a mixed bag - for productivity tasks, the GCB is hands down the device I'll be doing web browsing and document composition on. For video playback I'll be scouring the net for hints on how to improve the experience over the next few months. The display is probably the biggest contributor to the major frustration with the GCB, and that is the battery life. Two things are at work here - a 4K display is naturally going to take more juice to drive (along with more power needed for the iGPU to render on it) than a 1080p display. Second, Chrome OS does NOT have a dark mode yet. Without a dark mode in the web browser, AMOLED is going to draw a ton more power than an LCD. I've already noticed a significant improvement in battery life from applying a dark theme to the browser which only affects the top ~12% of the screen. Battery life for me so far, through three charge cycles, has gone from about 4 hours for the first two cycles (one of which involved mostly testing of 4K video) to 5 and a half hours on the current cycle which has used the aforementioned dark theme (Slate) and also having the brightness set to about 40 percent, which I choose for eye strain reasons more than battery, so I'm happy with the compromise. The included 65W charger seems to take about an hour and a half to charge fully. I found it a little odd that the included charger doesn't have a detachable cable. Still, it works. The last thing I want to mention is the final power vs pain compromise with the Galaxy Chromebook, and that is the CPU and heat load. Having a quad core "U" Core i5 unit is pretty sweet, until you forget it's fanless and the single vent is fairly small and in the middle of the bottom of the device. Now that I have realized what is going on, I sit with the device cradled more between my legs, allowing the main vent to be uncovered. Under these restrictions, the temperature has only gotten 'very warm' to the touch. On a tabletop I've never had a problem whatsoever. Final notes: the Linux container beta feature (crostini) is awesome and I will be using it heavily on my GCB. Tablet mode for Chrome OS is well executed and I would rather use my GCB in tablet mode than my old Surface Pro 4. The webcam isn't great, but I don't really use that feature and kinda find all built in webcams to be the same. The 8 MP camera in tablet mode is unique enough that I haven't come up with a use for it yet. I'm giving the GCB 4 stars, subtracting more because of the over-saturated and black crushed video than the battery life and heat issues. The battery life is long enough to get me through a flight with no charger (once we all get on the road again), and I'm confident that it will get better as Chrome OS adapts to a flagship device with an AMOLED display. Performance wise I love having 4 cores and 8 threads in a device this small. Just have to watch out for that vent :)

Terrible! I would give this zero stars if I could! I bought this less than a year ago and it no longer is able to connect to Wi-Fi! Supposed to be premium I noticed immediately that it felt CHEAP and poorly made compared to my Pixelbook! Terrible and poorly made!

    Constant repairs

I really loved this Chromebook in the beginning. I work for a school system, and Chromebooks are basically what we utilize. I had quite a few issues with the keyboard getting stuck and the screen not coming on. I had to have it fixed, more than 3 times by the geek squad. I really wanted to love this Chromebook and keep it, but I ended up having to return it and replace it with a Samsung laptop due to the constant issues of having to have it repaired. It was extremely light and great when it worked, just sad it ended up being a dud for me.
