This is the best router I've had. My last Motorola from 2012 got much slower recently. I upgraded to this one and have not had any problems. My only gripe is that they now require your WiFi SSID to be 6 characters long. My wireless network that I've had for years and years is 5 letters long, so I had to update all of my individual devices to reflect the new SSID.

Set up is easy with these, as to be expected, and wireless speeds are good. I can't compare the range to others, but seems very fast within 40 ft.

To keep the story short, I have a two story house around 1400 sf and recently had a roomate move in. We have two ps4s , cell phones, laptops and smart appliances including doorbell cams and locks. We needed a better router and went through 3 of them over a 30 day period. Routers we went with ranged between $150-$400. What we found was that the more expensive router didnt translate to being the better router. The motorola AC1900 was the “right” router/modem combo for our needs and has given us the best speeds and range I have ever had. Figure out which combo works for you but I woukd recommend this one for people with a like-situation and setup. Also I have Comcast.

I bought this to replace an Arris SBG6580-2 that had issues with frequent resets and lockups (apparently not uncommon according to reviews) after a few months in service. The Motorola MG7550 is designed in large part by Zoom, and I've had good results with Motorola/Zoom products in the past... and the reviews of the MG7550 gave no reason to think otherwise of this unit.
I'm familiar with programming home routers, including features like WiFi MAC access lists, port forwarding, firewall rules, DDNS, and DHCP address reservations. I had all of the necessary information on hand, and I thought getting the MG7550 set-up would be a relatively quick process. The user interface was easy enough to navigate, with on-screen contextual help available for just about every item.
Getting the modem activated with Comcast/Xfinity was a quick online process. I then started to program the MG7550's features... and that's where things started to get dicey. Although I was finally able to get everything working properly after several hours (I learned to back up the configuration after each significant change was finally successful), I experienced many inexplicable quirks in the user interface that made what should have been a straightforward process pretty painful. For example, when making entries for DHCP address reservations, all entries except one would enter properly but that one particular entry would cause the DHCP server to switch itself to "disabled" (with the only apparent recovery being a factory reset "start over"... hence the frequent backups through the process). Finally only changing the name of the device I was trying to enter for a DHCP reservation allowed the process to complete. Also, my DDNS entry reported that the DDNS provider was unreachable until, after one of many times cycling the DDNS feature off and back on again, it decided to suddenly work. My guess is that this all reveals a "not ready for prime time" graphical interface behind which is a pretty solid machine.
At the end of the day, the MG7550 is working well, with good WiFi coverage for a unit with integrated antennas. The WiFi scanner is a very helpful tool in selecting WiFi channels/bandwidths. Hopefully some updates are forthcoming that will improve the usability of the programming interface... the bad news is with this being a modem/router combo, you're at the mercy of your cable provider as to if or when you'll receive any available updates.

Not the greatest wireless range but comparable to others I’ve had before. my modem needs to be in the bedroom closet so that is my primary issue. So far it has worked fine and after a bit of back and forth with xfinity it has been up 100%.
Currently running my old router through existing home cat 5 wiring to my kitchen ( center of the house) tic extend the range and I am getting the coverage and speed through most of my 2800 sq ft 2 story house especially on the 5gHz band.

I bought this to replace my aging Arris modem that lasted 10 years. Took a chance on this model because of its 686mbps speed. My ISP is running at 400...so this modem is more than adequate. Modem and router configurations are quite simple..speeds are very good and so is the range. Haven't had any problems that I can think of so far. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a 600 and under speed modem.

Just switched to Xfinity cable and internet. Was tired of renting a modem/router for $13/month. Did my research and this is the perfect solution. Was using a wifi extender with old router/modem and I don't need it with this. Have this on the first level far corner of a 2,700 sq. ft. house and get good internet in all parts of the home. Easy set up and no issues connecting all items to it. Very satisfied with this item.

Didn't want the pay comcast monthly modem rental fee, this works very well for the price i paid. Its a 2 in 1 modem has wifi router built in, wit dual band signal. For light to medium usage would be fine, i don't think its great for gamers. overall im pleased with the purchase.

I bought this modem/router to take the place of the one had previously. I was told that the previous modem/router would work fantastic, but it kept dropping my wifi connection. So, I bought this one and it works fantastic, no more wifi drops.

Got this to replace my broken wifi router which i used since 2009. The new router is far better than the one it replace. Easy to install, fast and accommodates 3 tv, tablets, several celfons and security cams. I couldn't wait for the spectrum technician to fix the new router so i set it up myself and just called the spectrum helpdesk who helped me get it connected.

This item is the easiest to install! I am not tech savvy, that said, the directions included with the product could not have been easier! From the time I removed it from the box to working was perhaps 10 minutes. I had a Motorola product that was still working well after 8+ years- but with the times, I purchased a newer model- I hope it works as well. I am very happy with my purchase. I previously purchased a Netgear product for more money- was not impressed. Customer service is NOT based in the USA- I had to call and try to understand the representative with roosters crowing in the background. (Which is why that product was returned.) Motorola’s customer service is in the USA, another reason I purchased this product. I have not needed customer service but if I did, that was important to me.
