Pretty rock solid board. No frills and does everything you will need for gaming. I do not need all that fancy RGB lights or covers. I just need it to work and game.

MSI was a brand I looked kindly on before I bought this steaming pile of trash. I refuse to even consider purchasing another MSI product after my experience with this awful board and even worse customer service. The board worked flawlessly for about a day and then refused to boot properly and got stuck in a self repair loop. I wiped the SSD and then the computer refused to accept windows. I shipped it to MSI and 3 months later they shipped me a ‘new’ board in the worst packaging I have ever seen. After that I quickly got everything set up how it was before and it booted to my desktop and I was exited. THEN the monitor begins to constantly flicker in and out like a graphics driver is being updated/installed. When the screen isn’t locking up it’s hard crashing and going into a self repair state. This is the worst experience I have EVER had with any PC parts. I wouldn’t recommend this to people I hate, let alone friends.

I purchased this MSI B550 but it turned out to be defective. It was my first build but the guy helping me has built quite a few and said he has had a couple of faulty motherboards out of the box that have only been MSI brand. The heat-sync is what stood out to me on this MOBO but since I couldn't use it, I wound up returning it for a B570

The motherboard doesn't support a Gen 4 nvme. you'll get nothing but a black screen. Google this issue with the B550 boards. I am not the only one. I am just disappointed that I have a defective board and am out of the return period. The msi team hasn't been helpful either. What a shame!

Its a horrible experience with this board,
And MSI service is even worse. You have to pay to get it fixed, ( yes if you have to pay for your own shipping its payig to get your device fixed). So you might want to keep that in mind also.
From day one I have had problems turning on the finished computer and now after all the extra money and time spent sending and waiting in hopes of MSI fixing the board, sorry to say they made it worse, now it won't even turn on at all, so far its been a total waste of money.

Bought because I wanted usb type c support and a better board than a budget b450 board. My 3700x should have just slotted in and worked, but it was always stuck on boot led. No matter what. Ssd, no ssd, windows USB, everything. Took cooler off, took ssds out, nothing plugged in but CPU and a low power gpu. Nothing. Returned. Got the same board. Exact same issue, stuck on boot led. Decided to try a Ryzen 5900x I borrowed. (Box says 5000 series ready) no luck. Returned the board. Got a 12700k and z690 board instead and it worked (not out of the box, but hey, it works now.) Simply tired of amd being finniky. And I've been using them since the 1600 on launch day.

Board was DOA - Starts, but immediately locked up upon loading the OS. I suspect a faulty memory controller. Replaced with an ASUS TUF, which worked immediately.
