Purchased on March 5th and picked up in store about a week later. The packaging is cool but very basic. For a card that is at the time of purchase $700 over the 5090 FE MSRP I would have appreciated some extra flair or goodies in the box. You get the GPU, a 12VHPWR adapter, and a small support stand: that's it. The quality of the AIB seems nice. The fans appear well made and the chassis / housing feels substantial and rugged enough I suppose. The RGB is appealing to me, but if you are looking for something that rivals the 4090 Strix in appearance you may find the MSI TRIO to be a bit basic. The 5090 is still very new to me and the world at large, so I can only give my initial impressions of performance. It's fast lol. The thermals seem better than or at least equal my old 7900 XTX Red Devil and 4090 Suprim Liquid X. It's much faster overall than the XTX, but the 4090 probably not by enormous margins. I won't touch on issues related to 12VHPWR or "missing ROPs", but any potential buyer of a 50-Series GPU should be aware of these. So overall the card is great right? Well, yes... but we can't ignore the elephant in the room: the price. $2,709 plus tax for a GPU is VERY expensive, and for 95% or more of gamers the value proposition just isn't there. It's undeniably a huge "gamer flex" to own one, and the performance is of course excellent, but this purchase is hard to justify unless you are very well-off financially or your gaming PC is your pride and joy in life. Great 5090 from MSI, but man, it's expensive.

This card is absolutely fantastic. I upgraded from a 3080 / 1440p to now running a 4K monitor. This hits the 144hz refresh rate limit on every single title without issue. It is extremely quite and has not gotten over 70°. Quite large though, so make sure your case has the room. Ignore the fear mongering about connectors and use a quality cable, no issues there.

I purchased the MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio from Best Buy to upgrade from my previous RX 7900 XTX and achieve stable 4K gaming at no less than 120 fps. This card fully met my expectations. Due to the higher performance and more powerful chip, out of the box this GPU was drawing about 570 watts under load and sometimes heating up to around 77-80°C. I decided to do a bit of safe undervolting using MSI Afterburner. As a result, the power consumption dropped from about 560–570 watts down to around 430–450 watts, and the temperatures decreased from 77°C to about 62°C. Performance remained at the same high level and in some cases even improved (see screenshots). I also want to thank Best Buy for their great service, fast delivery, and the opportunity to purchase this GPU at a reasonable price. Overall, I’m absolutely satisfied and definitely recommend it.

I'm blown away by the performance of my new MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC 32GB GDDR7 graphics card. Not only does it deliver top-notch gaming and visual experiences, but it also runs significantly cooler than my CPU an AMD 9800X3D. Under prolonged full load with MSI Afterburner undervolting at 925mv and a 2830Mhz (+2000Mhz on RAM), the 5090 stays around 60°C. In contrast, my 9800X3D CPU would top out at 70°C under max loads on all cores. The reduced temperatures are a testament to the MSI Gaming Trio 5090's excellent cooling system and efficient design. I managed to snag this beast of a card from BestBuy just in time, as the price jumped by 30% the very next day! If you're considering purchasing the MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio, I highly recommend doing so. To get the most out of this powerful GPU, make sure you have: 1. A well-ventilated case with plenty of airflow to keep your system cool. 2. A reliable and high-capacity power supply (I opted for the Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 13 1600W PSU, which boasts Titanium efficiency). To ensure optimal performance and longevity, I recommend keeping the power supply load under 60% as a general rule of thumb. In conclusion, the MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio is an absolute powerhouse that delivers top-notch gaming experiences. If you're in the market for a graphics card that can handle demanding games and visuals with ease, look no further. Just remember to connect the 5.1 PCIe connection securely and keep it straight for 30mm from contact points to minimize strain on connections and heat buildup. Additional Tip: When connecting your GPU, aim for a straight line from the card to the motherboard with minimal bends (at least 30mm) to prevent potential issues.

The RTX 5090 is an absolute powerhouse. I upgraded from a previous‑gen card and the jump in performance is unreal. Everything from AI workloads to high‑end gaming to 3D rendering runs noticeably faster and smoother. Temps stay under control, the fans are quiet, and the card feels rock‑solid even under heavy load. What surprised me most is how efficient it is for the amount of power it delivers. I’ve pushed it through long sessions of AI image generation and it never stutters or throttles. If you’re doing anything demanding — creative work, training models, or just want maxed‑out performance — this card delivers exactly what it promises. It’s a premium card at a premium price, but the performance is on another level. Easily one of the best upgrades I’ve made.

Phenomenal performance. Pricey, but it’s a monster of a card. All ROPs as per GPU-Z. For the enthusiast, it’s a very fun toy. Excellent performance using various AI tools such as Stable Diffusion and Qwen 3 LLMs (and can fit many models into VRAM given reasonable quantization). You will not struggle to run games.

The MSI RTX 5090 GAMING TRIO OC is an absolute monster. I’m consistently hitting ~240 FPS at 1440p in DOOM: The Dark Ages with max settings and DLSS enabled. Frame times are extremely stable, making high-refresh gaming feel incredibly smooth. Cooling is outstanding! the Gaming Trio cooler keeps temperatures low while remaining quiet under load. Power delivery and stability have been flawless, even during long gaming sessions. Build quality is premium and exactly what you’d expect from MSI’s high-end lineup. If you’re targeting high FPS, next-gen titles, and long-term future-proofing, this card is worth every penny. Highly recommended.

While I can't complain about the power and capability of this GPU I think it is still worth noting that there are still some driver issues. My 4090 never had the issues that this has had. No fault of MSI, their quality is as good as always. However, from blue screens, to screen flicker, compatibility with multiple applications all seeming to be based on driver issues in the event viewer, be prepared to deal with a little frustration if you get a 5090. The performance of this is very noticeable from the 4090, but for as much as these things cost Personally I feel like they should be a little more refined from the software/driver perspective.

Coming from a 1070 to this beast...absolutely a night and day difference. I was at the point where I was under the minimums for any modern games, as well as many current desktop applications. Giving it a 4 stars only due to the power connector location being in the middle of the card which results in the cable having to be draped over the logo. Not sure why it's placed there, but an extremely poor aesthetic choice when you spend this amount of money on something that you want to actually display.

Needed a beefy card to pair with my Samsung Odyssey G9 57" to hit 240hz at 7680x2160 and this performed way better than what I was expecting. Silent Hill F ultra settings with DLSS running at over 144 fps is INSANELY BEAUTIFUL. Must have card for ultrawide users!!

This graphics card is so much more than just great aesthetics. This RTX 5090 easily outperforms the RTX 4090 in every single way. This card takes next-gen gaming to the next level! The card is just amazing no issues doesn’t exceed 69c after hours of gaming nvidia application auto tune over clocked it to 2900mghz running great give me 4k 170+fps in COD warezone battle royal and resurgence turning on frame gen at 4x give me 450+ fps at 4k runs like butter.

Its the current King of Consumer GPUs! I use it for gaming and building AI models for my current Graduate Robotics Studies. Sucks the price is basically now as high as it is now cause of the ram shortage.
