I think the sound quality a bit better. If you can get it for $29.99 then better buy this vs. the old google mini. This is my 3rd one :-) #LKTG

I generally love “Google Assistant”, but the Mic on this one is so bad, it can hardly pick my voice right most of the time, frequently Assistants that I have in other room will pick up first my commands than this that is on the room I am. The sound is decent for the size, it is just the mic that is terrible. I sometimes wonder if I got a defective one.

The mic issue is most likely related to the level of sensitivity with how the Google Assistant recognizes your hotword. We recommend adjusting the sensitivity level, including retraining the Google Assistant with your voice commands using the Voice Match feature. Here are the steps you can follow:
Retrain Voice Match:
- On your phone or tablet, open the Google Home app.
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial and then Assistant settings and then Voice Match.
- Tap Teach your Assistant your voice again and then Retrain.
Change Nest Mini's hotword sensitivity:
- Open your Google Home app.
- Select your Nest Mini.
- At the top right, tap the Settings (Gear) icon.
- Then tap Audio.
- Then tap "Hey Google" sensitivity and adjust the slider to make your Nest MIni more responsive to the hotword.

Kept disconnecting from the internet

Please check your internet connection...” It became so frustrating that I switched to Amazon Alexa. No issues. Unfortunately I couldn’t return the Nest Mini since I got rid of the packaging.

I absolutely love it. I stopped using the Dot and Echo products because the app was so buggy, and it constantly dropped connections to my devices. The Google setup is SO MUCH EASIER! From adding a device to renaming a device for use with voice control is so simple. The user interface is also incredibly easy to navigate. Well done, Google.
