This is what I was looking for to update an old, old, system in my home. The router and points are a good small size, they are mostly just neutral looking, and, most importantly, they just work.
Setup for me was very easy, and I was up and running in a short time. I am more or less in the Google ecosystem, so this was a no brainer for me. The app is intuitive, and once you are all setup, everything just works, and everything can be done via the app.
As I said, I am in the Google world, but I think this should be fine on the Apple side as well, but I can't really speak about the app there.
Connectivity is great, range is never an issue, speeds are quick. That is all I was looking for. There may be more complicated systems out there, for those who want more control, or who want to delve into the minutiae of their networking, but for me, this was perfect.

Compact and looks good
Checking internet download and upload speed
Testing point connectivity and its strength
Dislikes
1) Nest point doesn't always connect back when there is a power cut. It happened twice where I need to go and physically unplug and plug the device back for it to come online.
2) I upgraded from first gen google wifi (google hub) and only after purchase I realized (or came to know) that google hub cannot be used as an additional point.
3) the new google home (wifi) app interface is good in some aspects but when it comes to pausing wifi devices, I felt old app was much more easy. For you to quickly pause a device, you should have configured it as a group and same device cannot be part of multiple groups. I wonder if the google folks even use this app for day to day stuff as they would have caught this by now.
4) Point connectivity doesnt show a scale to understand if moving it around from one room to another room improves the strength any better. Currently it shows "Great" but I dont know if this is the max that can be achieved or am I compromising by keeping it even farther.

Though the advertised distance is 5400 sqft, even in a 2500 sqft home, the wifi speeds will drop. Given a gigabit connection, you will be seeing around 300-400 mbps everywhere as long as they are properly spaced and connected correctly. Getting 1 gbps from the ethernet is also pretty uncommon. It's only around 800-950 mbps at best. (I have since replaced item with a TP Link system and it works significantly better with zero service change)

Great WiFi coverage and fast speeds. Super simple management. It's well suited for most homes.
My experience wasn't great. Initial setup was simple and worked perfectly fine out of the box. Everything stopped working after it's initial software update and a factory reset was all I could do to bring it back to life. It worked great after that until some internet problems I ran into weeks later. When internet connectivity drops, I'm not able to use the app to manage the devices. The only insight provided is a flashing yellow light on the unit. I got out my old wireless router and the internet started working again.
Google phone support doesn't exist during the pandemic, so I didn't press this any further. Maybe it was a defective unit but this was anything but simple and straightforward for me.

I’ve had this for about a month and so far it’s good. Was a simple and quick set up. Worked with my spectrum modem which was a plus and didn’t need to go buy one. I’m getting roughly 300-500 upload wireless and wired I’m getting a consistent 400-500. Mind you I am paying for a 500 service.
Pros:
Easy set up
Great consistent speed for all devices
Mesh system works great
Coverage is ok, from the “points” but great strength from the main router
Cons for me:
A little on the pricey side
Speakers are iffy, ended up disabling mics as I’d rather use my google hubs
Only 1 port on the router so you will need a switch if you like to plug in (kind of an annoyance they designed with just one...)
Wish the points had a port to plug in devices as well (wish for one in future release *fingers crossed)

I studied the google mesh and the eero systems religiously before making this purchase. I live in a 5,000 square foot ranch model home (2500 upstairs / 2500 in basement). Home is 3 years old. Have been dealing with internet issues since day one. Constantly taking my phone on and off wifi, can't watch shows in bed on iPad, smart tv's having bad connection, slow speeds, etc. I was about to change internet providers but thought I should look into purchasing a mesh wifi system before making the change. The reasons I chose google over eero was I have a google home as well as the nest doorbell and I wanted to have everything running on the same system and the price was a little cheaper than the eero (i believe $50 cheaper but the eero system does come with security protection for web browsing). As soon as I installed the google nest wifi system (super easy to do) my results were IMMEDIATELY noticed. It was literally night and day!! This system supports two adults, three kids, 3 iPhones, 2 iPads, 2 smart tv's, playstation as well as a peloton bike AND WORKS FLAWLESSLY. It even INCREASED MY INTERNET SPEED! I am a HUGGGGGGGE believer in this product. My wifi works as it should and I don't get upset anymore paying for service that doesn't work like it should. I set up this system in my home about a month ago and have never even had to shut off the modem and turn it back on. Everything in my home works flawlessly. This is one of the best purchases I have made in years.....truly! Watching my DirecTV app on my iPad as well as other devices ALWAYS work flawlessly. I don't leave reviews but felt the need to so others could learn about my good experience with this product! I hope this helps many of you with your decision making when it comes to some of the same home internet problems I have been dealing with for the past 3 years.

The Google Nest works great. I have the router and 2 points. The router I have in the living room and the points are in the far bedroom and the garage. I get great coverage throughout the house and it also covers my entire 3/4 lot. The one thing that surprises me is the point in the bedroom is about 40' away and through 3 walls and has great connectivity with the router. The point in the garage is about 30' away and through 2 walls and has poor connectivity. Even so it still works and has great speed. Triple my old router. Overall a real good product and easy to set up.

Great Mesh Wifi System

I have slowly brought more and more google smart home products into our home within recent years. They have all performed what I have asked them to well. I have started to notice that my old Asus RT-N66U was struggling to keep up with all of the wifi devices I had connected. Between my wife's laptop, our multiple smart tvs, the doorbell cameras and my son's tablet/switch, it would chug at times and reset. For six years that little router did his best.
I was looking at mesh systems and the google wifi kept coming up as a nice option. I kept biding my time trying to limp the router along. Finally I retired the poor thing and picked up the Nest Wifi 2 pack. I have a ~2500 sq ft brick ranch home with a basement, and this seemed perfect. I was right. I have always setup my own routers and tweaked a lot of the settings. You cannot really do that with this router. That is ok for me, but might frustrate some who have specialized needs. Then again, if that is something you are looking for I bet you are not considering this.
Anyway, setup was a breeze. Connect 3 cables, use the Google Home app to set it all up. Then take the point, set it somewhere out in the open and do the setup of that. The point is not only a part of the mesh system but also a google home speaker as well. Keep in mind that the base router unit is not a speaker however.
The only bad thing I have found with this particular router is that it only has 1 ethernet out of the router and zero of them on the point. It works for me as it sits next to my gaming desktop with the modem and that is hardwired. The rest of the networking is wireless.
Overall I am very happy.
TL;DR: Great mesh system, ~10 install, simple router interface, single ethernet out, do recommend.

Fast, good coverage, easy to set up, each acts as a Google Home speaker which is nice (my old Google homes are in a closet collecting dust now lol).
One gripe is one of the access points goes offline sometimes for no reason, I have reset it to factory and then re-added it to the mesh, it seems to fix the issue for a few months, but then occurs again. might be a dud. but it works for the most part.

Hi Danny, we're glad to hear that Nest Wifi is providing you with fast and reliable coverage for your home network, and that you had an easy time setting it up. We do apologize if one of the Nest Wifi Points goes offline for no reason. Resetting was also a great idea to try and fix the issue. However, if the offline issue is still persistent, then we may need to take a much closer look at the issue. We recommend contacting our Pixel Buds support team for further help using this link: https://support.google.com/googlepixelbuds/gethelp

I upgraded from a cable company provided (Frontier) NVG468MQ router located in the family room. I have 150 Mbps internet, and even 5 feet from the router I was getting average speeds (30 - 60 Mbps). My WIRED devices even had poor performance, making it a frustrating experience.
I switched to the Nest Wifi Router 2-pack and placed the first router in place of the old router. Immediately before setting up the mesh network speeds were immensely improved. I ran multiple speed tests with the old router in different parts of my first floor and every location was faster and more consistent coverage. The speed on the wired PS4 (picture above) also improved drastically.
I placed the second router on the second floor of the house in an office / bedroom. It is on the opposite side of the house and more toward the front, so it balanced out the locations. The mesh network set up quickly with excellent strength. Upon testing devices throughout the house, front door (Ring), garage (workouts on phone or computer), the speeds were all 120-150 Mbps. This is an incredible amount compared to the 10-30 Mbps I was seeing before.
Additionally the much simpler network (single SSID), management, and the asthetics of the devices makes this an easy choice for your first mesh system. For simplicity, the Google Home app is sufficient for management, but I preferred to see more details so I also installed the Google Wifi app. It is also very simple to use but provides very clear network status and features to manage or prioritize devices.
Overall I am extremely pleased and this is very highly recommended.

My Apple Time Capsule WiFi router was starting to get long in the tooth, and the connection reliability was becoming intermittent and spotty with every device I added to my network. I opted for a new standalone WiFi router, and initially purchased a mid-range Netgear Nighthawk RAX WiFi 6 router. That was a huge mistake! After several weeks of reoccurring disconnects and firmware issues, and merry-go-round customer service troubleshooting, I returned it, and instead went with the Google Nest Mesh system with main router and one point. This has been by far the fastest and most dependable home WiFi network I've ever used! Initial setup was super simple and intuitive, using the Google home app, and I was up and running in about 5 minutes (after placing my router and point, network configuration and firmware updates). In nearly three months of use, I haven't had to restart the system, nor reconfigure any of my settings; it's a pretty much setup and forget type of router. The router and point have been more than sufficient in providing high speed whole home coverage (approx. 2200 sq ft) to over 50 smart home devices, 4 smart TVs and multiple streaming boxes (daily streaming 4k HDR and Dolby Vision content) and several laptops and phones in my home, without any stuttering. It would be cool if this was a WiFi 6 router, since thats all the hype right now in home networking. But, since I only have several AX WiFi capable devices in my home anyway, AC WiFi with the Nest mesh has been more than sufficient for my needs.

I have had a few different routers over the years, most recently the Netgear R7000. I have a difficult house to cover due to where the cable line comes into the house (basement under HVAC ducts), walls in the way, and large house. I have the R7000 centrally located in the house using a CAT5 line originally there for phone. I have never had consistent coverage or consistent speed.
I finally bought this Google Nest mesh system and kick myself for not doing it earlier. My cable provider gives me ~ 230MBs down and I never got that from the Netgear R7000 - it would be inconsistent, as high as 170 MBs and often as low as 10MBs. I assumed this was just the house and walls, etc.
When I installed the Nest mesh, I actually wired it into the R700 so it was going through the Netgear to the cable modem - I did this to maintain my old wifi while converting and intended to switch to have the Nest directly wired. Once I plugged the Nest in, I have consistently gotten ~230MBs down which is even faster than I was getting from the R7000. I realized the Netgear was my problem.
I bought the 3 pack of the Nest mesh as I assumed I needed it for the house. I could have gotten by with only 1 but there would have been some corners of the house that were slow. With a second on, I had full coverage everywhere in a 3 story 7,000 sq foot house. I installed the third because i had it but honestly did not need it.
Easy to set up, amazing speed, and I have consistently tested the speed and it has consistently been 200-230 MBs down which I never got before.

The Nest WiFi mesh system by Google is really cool! It delivers a strong, fast WiFi signal with devices that are VERY low profile. Unless you knew where I placed mine, you'd never even notice them in the house. The set-up was really easy and the app guided me through along the way. It took about 5 minutes (each node) to set up everything. The connection is maintained well and all of my devices, even older ones, connect without problem. I get full signal throughout my entire 1600 sq. ft. home without any glitches or slowing.
My only complaint is the price. $250 is steep, but worth it, if you can or want to afford it. My only hope is that Google drops the price on the individual nodes sometime in the near future so I can extend my range even further ( like to my pool).

Set up was very simple, and I have found excellent coverage from the system throughout the house. Having upgraded from an wifi extender system, this product represents a substantial improvement. I haven't had any issues with signal or wifi drops.
The speeds were also tripled over my previous system, so we are able to fully realize our internet speeds and stream multiple devices. Further a lot of our hassles with connecting with our Sonos system, streaming quality, etc have all seemed to vanish.
It was a WFH upgrade that has paid for itself already.
Managing the devices through the app on your phone is pretty straightforward, not that you really need to spend much time worrying about the system to begin with.
The only real drawback I have found thus far is that you will need to buy a separate switch if you still have a lot of ethernet based devices, i.e Sonos, MyCloud. The router here only has one port connection.
Very happy with the purchase so far.

This system is super easy to setup through the google home app. The wireless access points are also google assistants which means they are voice activated. I did however have to turn off the voice activation because it did not seem to work well with all my google home minis I have. They seemed to not be able to decide who was going to do the action I requested so they kind of cancelled each other. Turning the mic off on these units has fixed that. You may not have this issue though if you don’t have other voice powered google devices. Using the google Wifi app, you can see what devices are connected to which access point. The one downfall is if you want anything hardwired there is only one LAN Ethernet plug on the base hub, so you will need to get a cheap switch if you want things plugged in via Ethernet. I have had no problems with connections. They are in three separate rooms with no direct view and are getting a “great” mesh connection, which is the best you can get. I consistently am getting my full internet speeds from all access points when testing. You will definitely want your streaming devices over 5ghz, so if you have the option to pick on your device, please set it to 5ghz. I usually keep all my smart devices on the 2ghz. Keep in mind that google WiFi app does not give you the option of picking what frequency or what access point your devices connect to or with. There are a ton of family features, guest WiFi, etc. overall, I’ve had no problems with this at all and it works very well across my 30+ devices.

I love this system and it is super quality right down to the box it comes in. My home is a brick 3,500 sq' two story with a large attic. It is also foamed for insulation. Initially, I had considered getting the router and two points but ultimately decided to get the router and single point. I put the router central in the attic and the point down stairs in the living room with our TV and such. With that, I have complete coverage even in my shop which is about 30' away from the router. That shop is also bricked and foamed. I have a Blink home security system which was performing poorly with my old router and in part why I purchased the Nest system. It was greatly enhanced with the Nest system. The set up was super easy, can't imagine anyone having issue with it. The app is awesome and I can do everything on my phone. Soon, I'll be controlling lights and the thermostat with it. I just can't say enough good about it. And, I love talking to Google...."Hey Google........?"

My background is IT and I had a Unified AP Pro for the past 2 years. It is commercial grade but the problem is most of the adjustment is manual. I have to test which band that my neighbors aren't using and then test the speed for each channel. This affects my networking devices such as printer and TV but especially sensitive IP Camera system. Without stable wifi, cameras would be lower resolution or even offline for minutes at a time.
Now comes Nest Wifi. Sometimes, even as an IT, I just want to go home and it just works. The mesh gives me full bar and uses its own dark magic to auto adjust the channels giving me the best wifi connection speeds. Highly recommended.
Note: Make sure you plug in and add them 1 at a time so its easier to identify which one is which in the google home app.

I live on the bottom floor of a brownstone. It is a 1 bed/ 1 bath. (Not very big) somehow my spectrum wifi does not make it to the back of the apt even though its only about 25 ft away. I tried buying some wifi extender that was supposed to work within the electrical current. NOPE. Then comes Google nest. Works perfectly! Super simple set up. The Google home app walked me through it as if i were a child (perfect) The wifi became so strong, i can now use a chrome cast to put a Tv in the backyard and sit outside and watch sunday football like i dont live in the middle of a city!!
I even bought OPEN BOX (which I have never done) and saved almost $100.
Im all in and totally recommend!!
