Setup was really easy. I get more coverage and better speed than the replaced N-router from Netgear. Finally the buffering has subsided.

This router has some of the best speeds and range available. Very easy to set up, and the app is easy to use. Just make sure to update the firmware right away.

We needed something powerful enough to reach the basement, 2nd floor, garage and out back patio as well as manage gaming systems, 6 smart TVs/roku/appletv/firestick, and as many smart phones, tablets & computers that 6 teens and adults would own. This unit definitely hits the mark and then some!!

I have one of those very LONG apartments. My last routerS did not give me a signal in the opposite end of my apartment so I had to use an extender and that wasn’t super reliable. So I did some research and came upon this guy. Signal is strongest in the living room but in the opposite end of the house I finally have a decent signal. Also important to note, we always have 3-5 people/things linked up to the WiFi at once and everyone and everything is always running well.

Have had this router now for about 6 weeks. Its lighting fast and works just fine with stock firmware. Didnt install the DDWRT firmware as most reviews indicate it has slower performance. I was recently relocated to Taiwan for work and VPN into the US for netflix and the sort. This works great for my entire apartment (computers, pads, phones, etc) as a VPN portal without a hitch and no hit to speed. My only complaint is that it is bulky, but if you can stash it behind something or in a cabinet, you are all set. So my one star hit is on aesthetics, not performance.

This router is great. Fairly decent range. I thought I could get away without a mesh system, but if you have a bigger home or a fair amount of walls, best to go with Eero or a mesh. No issues otherwise. Very fast for medium range.

Made Time Warner Cable (TWC) work MUCH better!

Replaced my Time Warner Cable (TWC) modem and WIFI combo (supplied by them) which was totally unreliable and dropped the WIFI connection and had weak spots all over the house - used the Netgear Nighthawk instead and instantly a better totally reliable connection everywhere around the house. I use a repeater (~$50) in one of the furthest parts which I expect as it's fairly remote but for the remainder it's rock-solid.
Great router, lots of security features, easy to configure and reliable too. Worth every cent!

With my family all working from home lately, our cable internet service was strained to the point of not working.
After a lot of research, I bought this Netgear router from Best Buy, who had the best price on it. Install was simple, and I even customized the router settings without too much ado.
Now, we get fast internet through 2 floors, and a basement.
I had been using wifi extenders, but didn't need them anymore.
Problem solved. Some people commented on how big it is, but I don't think so.
I have up to 12-15 devices connected, mostly wi fi, but also ethernet. A knowledgeable friend had recommended a Mesh network, but it didn't have enough ethernet ports, and was more money.
Family complaints about bad service have stopped, which makes me happy.
I liked the router so much, I just bought Netgear's extended 2 yr warranty and telephone support, on sale.

We Like It

We like it - however note that some computers may not work well. We have coverage at the back of the house -4 or five bars where our older router gave 2 or 3. Roku is not lagging, Kindle connects well. We hardwired the television and consoles since they are all sitting in the same area but Kindle, the laptops and other portable devices do well on it. We have also tried out the 5G connection on a MAC laptop we were working on for somebody. Overall this was a good choice and good buy. A Best Buy so far :)

This router is very good, very fast and easy to set up, however it has a large footprint on the desk top. Wish it had a vertical position.

This is *the* router for just about anyone - unless you have a dozens of devices connected via wifi on a regular basis, this bad boy will meet your needs. I'm using mine to support an average 8 to 10 devices at any given time, sometimes 15 or 16 when family is visiting and never any slowdowns.
I'm pretty tech savvy so setup was nothing. The interface is pretty clean, though it could be easier to navigate to more advanced settings.
This is the best $160 you can spend for your SoHo network.

Purchased this almost 2 months back to replace an older existing router, I have normally stayed with LinkSys router for the most of the past 10 years, this is my first experience with a Netgear wireless router. I am very happy with the device. It is fast, solid and easy to configure.
We are in a small apartment now so I can not talk about the range much, but I don't think there will be any range issues moving to a larger house.
Good buy.

This is a phenomenal wireless router, that has far exceeded my expectations. This appeals to me in its simplicity to setup, configure and maintain. The range is unbelievable. I can take my dog for a walk down the street, and my cell phone will show a full WiFi signal when I'm nearly 200 yards from home. Streaming movies online across multiple platforms (tablets, phones, laptops, desktops, voip phones, Apple TVs, and web-enabled Blu-ray players) can't bog it down - even with DSL!
Bottomline: It's tough to beat.

After deciding to upgrade my home wifi network and after reading through a bunch of reviews, I settled on this router. After about one month, I can say I'm very happy with it. Very easy to set up. Strong signal strength with very good range. And includes a lot of great utilities to map, monitor, and diagnose any problems with your network. Also includes 4 ethernet ports so you can hardwire devices as well as utilizing the wireless connection. A great buy. Highly recommended.

I'll admit this is a bit pricey, but you'll end up with an easy setup and blazing speeds. I purchased this well over a month ago, so I can happily report that I have had zero issues since installation and my speed has increased twofold. Sometimes you do get what you pay for... And BestBuy delivered again. They offered me the best price and quick pick up right in the store. I didn't have to wait for a couple of days while my internet wifi was down or pay extra for expedited shipping.

I purchased the NETGEAR - Nighthawk Dual-Band Wireless-AC Router a couple of months ago now and have been very happy with it. I previously had been using D-Link routers and thought I would give Netgear a chance. I had to use a range extender with my previous router, but not with this one. I have a good signal throughout my entire house and all the way into the backyard all around the pool deck. I ended up buying another one of these routers for my daughters house. Excellent router!!!
