This is a fantastic router. If you need a long range high speed internet signal, this is the router for you. I tested it over 200 feet and an exterior wall away in a separate building and can pick up 38Mbps on my iPhone 5s, 10-15 Mbps on my PS3 (G) / PS4 (N) and 18Mbps on my desktop (wireless G+) off of a 60Mbps source. Expect better speed if your devices are AC capable.

We run one pc, one laptop, two smart phones, one e-reader, and a single Xbox 360 on this, although the pc is wired. With everything but the Xbox, the connection is fast and reliable. The Xbox gives us some issues (such as randomly losing connection), which we are as yet unable to correlate to the router or wireless adapter on the Xbox itself.
The laptop has lightning fast internet and download speeds. LOVE IT!
:::Remembering that we aren't certain if it is the adapter or this router, the following pertains ONLY to the Xbox connection.:::
While connected, however, there is no lag (very small latency and no jitter), and we can watch Netflix and Amazon Prime easily without skipping, and play multiplayer games over Xbox Live with very little lag.

Before purchasing this router, I was leasing one from my internet provider. I realized that I am paying too much monthly and can save (in the long run) by buying my own router. This router has much better range than my old router which I couldn't connect from couple rooms down. Faster too. I've had it for about 2 weeks and so far its great and haven't had any problems.

Our router was older and we began having a lot of troubles using the wifi, so we bought this one. It's able to run everything on our wifi without any lag. Currently it is running 3 desktops, 3 laptops, along with 5 phones, and 3 gaming systems with no lag at all. Highly recommend it to anyone.

My original modem from my local carrier was not giving a strong enough signal to reach my living room. After reading the reviews, I decided to purchase this unit.
It works great and now I better reception in my entire home. There is still some loss of signal but it's much better than before and speeds are now at an acceptable level.

This is a really great router from NetGear. Although it isn't the 6 antenna tri-band version, it still has fantastic range on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. 5GHz band easily handles my 105 megabit internet with room to space on AC devices. Comprehensive management features are good enough for IT pros, but basic features make setup easy for novices. Highly recommend.

I bought this because I'be internet connect drops frequently and not getting wifi to my second floor. After replacing the old router with net gear nighthawk, no connection drops, signal strength is too good and handling close 10 devices without any issues. I will defnetly recommend this product.

NETGEAR Nighthawk R7000 With DD-WRT Firmware

Note: This review is with DD-WRT firmware not the stock Netgear firmware. The Netgear firmware is not as good as DD-WRT as DD-WRT adds much more features & customization. Also I have this router on max power output & overclocked to 2.4Ghz.
Router is very stable & never crashes. I am a power user so I will be very critical in my review. The speeds on both the 2.4GHz & 5GHz bands are great when close to the router. The wireless range on the router is better than any other router I have ever used however it could still be better. It does fully cover my ~2,500 sq. ft. house however @ the outer limits the signal is very weak & the speeds drops. Please also note that my area has multiple Wifi signals, @ least 20 or so networks so there are lots of interference. The range & speed is especially true in the 5GHz band as that band by nature of design always has more issues going through walls than 2.4GHz. For 2.4GHz I have it set up with a middle base channel & full bandwidth. For 5.8GHz I have it set up with the upper most channels as those allow for a full 1W of power. I also have a USB 3.0 HD attached to it using it as a NAS. It works very well & the speeds are acceptable, about 15 - 20MBs, however the speed can be better. I believe the speed limitation is in the router CPU as that is the case with generally any router. Overall I have used this router for 1+ years & am very satisfied with this router however there is always still some room for improvement.

I bought this for my office consisting of about 25 people who share this wireless router. Most of our devices operate on our LAN, but with the growth of handheld devices, we needed a wireless connection setup.
After researching various options, I settled on this one after reading the same things over and over again. It is secure; it has a great range; it is easy to set up. I concur with the other reviews.

I needed a new router during this crazy pandemic - the old one finally just jumped into the pond and didn't come back up. I like Netgear, so I started there. The old one was slick, no rabbit ears, but then I figured I'd invest a bit more in speed and range - the antennas started to make sense.
When I brought it home and installed it, it was easy (installation is super easy with a smart phone) and I found it has a lot of good software in the app. There are parental controls, if you need them. You'll find automatic spam blockers (you'll still need some on the computer) and more.
Definitely a good value. Recommended.

Great signal strength in the entire home. From the back to the front and side to side. And top and bottom floors. No weak signal. Great for streaming movies and gaming. Highly recommend having the Geek Squad installing and setting up the router. Leave out the frustration and have the professionals take care of it. Choose your own Network name and password.

The NETGEAR - Nighthawk Dual-Band Wireless-AC Router with 4-Port Ethernet Switch is a very good router that is easy to setup, performs well (high speed and good range). Make sure it fits the available space - this router is quite large and vertical setup is not possible

We have a brick three story. With the router in the basement it reaches well to the third floor. Handles gaming and video streaming at the same time. Well worth the money. Super easy setup. Best router we ever owned. I would purchase again.

I purchased this router because our old Vizio 'N' router had many issues (rebooted multiple times each week, constantly dropping signal then reappearing, etc). We have also started streaming much more content and even though most of our WiFi compatible devices are not AC compliant, this improved performance across all our devices (3 bluray players have netflix, smartphones, ipad, 2 computers, printer, Direct TV are all hooked to same router). I have seen an increase in speed in streaming and downloading - uploading hasn't seen a real improvement but I believe that is because of my ISP. Many features that are easy to use - Guest Networks, parental controls, etc - and setup. If you are serious about having a lot of WiFi enabled devices in your house and you stream movies and music, I would recommend this product even with the steep price.

This router is awesome. We've experienced no internet lag since getting it. We can run all of our devices at once - two phones, an Ipad, our ps4 streaming Netflix. We might be able to take over the world with internet like this!

Me and my family love the Wi-Fi device as it gives us a long range of service and strong too. Kids are happy and so is the wife. We bought a different bramd amd just had too much problems with the device that we had to return it back. Bought this new one and we are loving it. Recommend it to anyone for their home or office..

Bought this on the recommendation of the sales clerk. Good choice. It set up easy and has worked perfectly so far, with great coverage. I put it in my basement, but so far it performs great in my one story house. Outside the house the signal drops off quickly. I bet if I put the router on the main floor I would get coverage well out into my yard.

The range on this router is amazing! It was easy to setup and has some great features! If you download the netgear genie app you can set the whole thing up from your phone. What impressed me was how you can plug in a flash drive or hard drive with music or movie files and access them from a tablet smart phone or computer anywhere within range of the router.
