Very happy with this router purchase, initially thought Internet connection was dropping so frequently because of loss of connectivity with cable company....go figure, it wasn't the cable company it was the router. This router allows you to partition the router's signal and allow a primary connection for your PC (good for gamers) and a secondary slightly weaker connection for all devices that are drawing on your wifi. Before this router, when 2 or more devices were linked into the wifi there was a signal interruption at least every 15 minutes, after switching to this router I haven't had one signal loss at all. Very happy with this purchase.

We're a family of four with each of us using wireless devices (cell phones, computers, TV's and tablets. Before purchasing this wireless router we constantly had bottle necks trying to stream various sources but that is no longer the case. We can now all use our devices trouble free and set up was easy too!

My son does onlne gaming and has said this router is much faster than the one it replaced. Also, with my previous router I had to power it of and back on at least every other week to fix connection issues and I have had no problems at all keeping a connection with this router. Cell phone connectivity on the upper band is quite fast.

I would have given it 4.5 stars but Best Buy system does not allow that. I recently replaced an older series Netgear router with the somewhat pricy Nighthawk A1900. Our 8 year old router worked great though recently we had noticed it seemed to become more and more limited as the demands of addition wireless devices increased. I do wish routers in general, routers would be equipped with more wired networking ports but that’s another story. While setup the Nighthawk, it had a problem properly connecting to anything after it up-dated itself. The problem was finally corrected by a complete reboot of both the modem and router, instead of just the router by itself. The unit now works great, speed when streaming is really good with very little to no buffers and the range covers my entire acre and a half (so far no dead spots). I do wish there would be a way to turn off or reduce the brightness of the LEDs on the front of the unit without having to turn the entire unit off at night. The lights on the unit are small but throw a bright glow in the dark. Now all there is to do is hope this unit out preforms and last as good as the last one did.

I upgraded to this router from a 1st generation wireless N Linksys router. This router is outstanding. I no longer have dead spots in my house, and I can even stream music while I am mowing the yard. Setup was simple, and I also like being able to monitor the network from my phone or iPad. You will not be disappointed in this router!

I had a wireless router provided by my cable company and another wireless router in my home and still had coverage issues. I located this thing in the center of my home and it covers everything. I used a wifi signal meter on my phone and confirmed that this thing is a beast. Huge signal compared to my other wireless routers.

aside from being fast and having a good range, it maintains connection well or at least resets itself quickly. no need to unplug and wait and replug it in when it looses connection (and they all loose connection). I can hardly tell connection lost because in resets quickly and so I do not lose any data or get interruption in loading pages.

I have had no problems with this router I have two xbox ones and a xbox 360 hooked up to it and zero lag. It has a priority setting on it just for gaming so no need to mess with port forwarding or anything. The USB ports on it allow me to hook up my external hard drive so I can watch videos wireless with my computer and xbox ones.

I originally purchased a Netgear r7000, but the signal strength was too low. I purchased the Nighthawk and it is working flawlessly. The Nighthawk has a much better signal strength and is covering a large area. I you are looking for a hard working router with a wide area of coverage, then the Nighthawk is a good choice.

The cost is a little frightening, but this router pays off when you consider how much more net speed (you're already paying for) you can now access. No buffering for 1080p You Tube videos. I can have my phone, Kindle, PS3, and laptop running at the same time my roommate is comfortably playing his XBox Online games without lag.

When we switched Internet providers we got our own router by the advise of an IT guy. This one was in the middle for cost at about $170. If you do a one or two year contract you will have a rental cost for your modem and router. So at $10/month this router pays for itself in about 17 months. It is definitely a better router than what we had from the provider. We needed it for better streaming and for my son's PS4 and playing online. I would recommend this one. The location (it needs to be high like setting on a table) and close to the modem. Also if there is a problem the internet provider won't fix it...you are on your own so some knowledge helps...or just replace it. We have had it for about 5 months and no problems.

I recently upgraded my entire home network and went to 200 Mbps internet speed. I needed a router that could not only handle to speed but had dual channels for the numerous phones, tablets and IPads in use at my home. Since I upgraded to the Nighthawk R7000 I haven't experienced any problems with speed or coverage.

    Boosted our WLAN speed

We started out upgrading to this from an older Netgear router, in hopes it would resolve some issues we had with devices dropping of the network. It didn't do that, at least not immediately, but we did see a substantial improvement in coverage throughout our small home on the 5GHz band. After Comcast/Xfinity finally restored our Internet service (which they disabled through shoddy coax cable work), we had to reboot both the modem and router several times to get the expected downlink speed. For reasons that will apparently remain a mystery, once everything was working again at top speed, it also seemed to fix the problem of devices dropping off the network. The 3-antenna MIMO system is responsible for the improvements in coverage, but Netgear should have made the antenna connectors more secure for operating at adjustable angles. They tended to loosen and fall over when one uses anything other than a vertical orientation.

Bought this router to take advantage of Time Warner's, "extreme", free upgrade offer. The setup was easy. The signal strength is plenty, for our 2,000 sq ft home. So far, we have consistent bandwidth with multi-users and is comparable to the speeds on our hard wired connections! (34 Mbps - downstream / 5.46 Mbps - upstream)

This Netgear Nighthawk seemed a bit expensive but the salesperson convinced me to get it after he explained all the features. It streams very well in a 2200 sq. ft. house with the router upstairs, and the DVD/TV downstairs in the opposite side of the house. Easy set up and online support. Very happy with purchase!
