My children on the opposite side of the home would lose wifi signal whenever they would close their doors. I figured that I would try a newer wifi router as my previous one was about 4 years old. I decided to try the Netgear R8000, boy I am so glad that i did. This thing is unreal. The coverage says for homes up to 10,000 sq. ft, and yes, that is fairly accurate. My children now have full signal, even with their doors closed. I have signal all the way down my driveway to the main road, and also out beyond my shop a little ways. Well worth the money. If you are looking for a new wifi router with superb coverage and guest accounts (2) then look no further, this is the one for you.

First unit would not set up properly. Took it back to Geek Squad (w/o appointment) and was told they couldn't deal with it in store and told me to get a home visit to set up. The person who was to come out called on the day of the appointment and when I told him what happened he just told me to take it back and get it replaced (which should have been the instore Geek Squads recommendation). The replacement immediately set up properly and it has worked great ever since. Very speedy and easy to set up when I got a good device.

Upgraded from a Netgear AC1900 router because of the additional 5GHZ radio. We have multiple game systems and various smart TV's as well as smart phones in our 3100+ sq ft, 2 story home and the extra radio definitely helps.

I got this router because my previous one could not keep up with the demands placed on it with multiple devices in a family of 5 users. Not only has this kept a consistent connection, but the range is greatly improved. Hoping that continues!

Currently use this as an AP in the center of my house which is about 2200sqft. Great coverage through the house both the 2.4 and 5ghz channels with 0 dead zones, even through multiple wals/doors. One thing to take into consideration when purchasing this is the speeds it advertises. Connected to its lan port with a network card capable of running the 1gb (1000mbps) will achieve the listed speeds on your own network and give you the speeds you have to your house, on the Internet. With wifi it's the same. This has the capabilities to to run speeds over 1gb on its 5ghz channel, but on many devices the hardware falls short, leaving your wifi speeds less than your wired connections. For example, I have a Dell that has a 802.11ac capabilities and when connected to the 5ghz broadcast, I get speeds around 300-400mbps, whereas my Samsung laptop when connected to the 5ghz will get me about 200. This is due to the limitations of my nic card ( network card/computer built in wifi). So when purchasing this, keep in mind that you may have this really awesome highway (router speeds) but your driving it with a moped (your computer/phone/tablet) hardware limitations. Overall it's a great product for home or small business this looking for wide coverage.

    Not the WOW I expected

My last router was a D-Link DIR-826L. I needed an extender to reach my office and my wife complained that the printer constantly dropped from the network. After reading the reviews and the product description that claimed multiple diverse products that can operate simultaneously, I took a chance at spending the big money to buy the Nighthawk X6. It did set up relatively easily and with my extender, I get screaming speeds in my office through my comcast network, but my wife still complains about the printer dropping from the network (only on her MacBook Pro) and her Google drive dropping. I haven't had any issues with those, but the network is sluggish on occasion. My son, who is a community PlayStation enthusiast was not impressed with the network performance over our last router. For the money I paid, I expected a happy family with no more network complaints ... that didn't happen.

I am very happy with my purchase, the wireless router keeps top speeds while gaming. I stress tested the router and had 3 PlayStation going, a laptop and 4 phones amd two tablets hooked up and the router never reset or seemed to be bogged down. If you’re looking for good reliable router for gaming or just because you have many devices in the household this is the best bang for your buck.

This has been excellent for our family. Able to have PS3 game play, two adults surfing on iPads and streming movies simultaneously. Sometimes gets a tad finnicky with Xfinity cable modem, but easily fixed.

I purchase this router because I had a weak signal in my home. Before I was using a WiFi extender which made it worst. This router has fixed all of my issues. I can have over 15 items connected to it without any problem.

Being one of the first tri-band routers on the market, it has worked great. It has sped up my other wifi devices and I still haven't used it to its full potential. I am very happy with it.

I have a house built in 1929, so no sheet rock - all lath and plaster. Getting a wireless signal through all of that is a challenge. Since installation, I have had no issue getting a strong signal in every corner. Very quick and easy installation.

Works well & it does not give me issues when I stream HD. I bought it because my old router could not handle the high volume traffic once I added my smart TV to the network. The three channels work well because one can designate devices to each channel in order to maximize speed and avoid slow down. It also has great range. Moreover, the software that comes with the router gives one the option to see who is on the network and one can kick out users if necessary. Expensive but highly recommended for a household with numerous devices.

Bought this to get signal to our retreat house. Boosts signal great. But my originating speed not great, so it still needs work. Going to have to wait until speed is provided better to the area where the house is at it is way out of normal service area.

I used this router to replace an AC1750. Coverage is about the same but wireless connections close to the router are very fast. I now use my AC1750 as a wireless bridge to get internet to my office across the house. It works very well.
