This is the router and extender to get! Huge price tag but worth every penny.

I purchased this unit to replace a Netgear R7300 router and satellite purchased from Best Buy two years ago. Setup was a breeze. I particularly like the free Orbi app (available from the Apple Store), which allows the router to be configured and monitored from my iPhone. Wireless performance and signal strength was excellent. If I was only using it for wireless, it would have been great. My problem was with wired connections. Devices wired directly to the Orbi would drop connections for 3-10 seconds at a time at random times. This caused me a lot of pain since I use a VoIP phone for work and my calls would drop. I opened a ticket with Netgear support and after a week of me investing way too much time trying verifying that it was not a wiring issue, VoIP phone, switch issue, factory reset, firmware upgrades, etc.,, they escalated me to second level and I never got a call back as expected. I have returned this router to Best Buy and purchased a Linksys EA9300 from Best Buy. My return was processed without hassle and my wired network devices (VoIP phone, gaming consoles) have been reliable since I installed the Linksys have had no issues since.

Needed a stronger signal in the far room and this is working great

Before I bought this, I would not have WiFi in the bedrooms in the corner of the house. As a result, we would constantly go over the 20GB monthly allotment. Since this was installed, we not only have WiFi in the whole house but also at outside patio and yard. Additionally, upload & download speeds have drastically improved. Would highly recommend.

Claimed to cover 3500 sq foot of house, yet did not. Would work for maybe 3000 sq foot or under. Plus an open floor plan.

It made a big difference with my spectrum internet service.
