Worked great out of the box as a replacement for a cable modem. Setup was easy. A year later, moved to a new house with the same cable company, Same modem, Internet but no WiFi. Netgear wanted $85 for a tech call. Turned to the netgear forum for advice and tried numerous reboots, rewires and factory resets without success. Hired a local network ‘expert’, 2 hours and $200 later he gave up and recommended I buy a new router. $250 later problem solved. Anyone want a free set of Orbiis? They’re collecting dust.

The Orbi is great for expanding my WiFi signal through out my house, which is two stories.

I bought this item(orbi 3000) for my house. It’s work very well and do not have problem at all.

I think this is perfect for technologically-challenged individuals who just need a router at home and have it look pretty. Seriously, it's plug and play-- the accompanying app may need a little more tweaks to be more user-friendly, but all you need to do is plug it in your modem and it works. Even adding satellites was thought out in this process-- add a satellite option in the app and you're good to go as well. It is definitely pretty. I looks like an ornament without the bulk. Thirdly, and I think is the best feature of this device is, it has a single log-in-- it does not break it up into bands. For those who have the newer routers where you can choose to connect to a 2.4Ghz or a 5Ghz, this one takes it away from you. Just connect to one SSID and at least per the description in the box, it figures it out for you, which is the best connection to serve you your internet. Based on experience, IT WORKS. I used to have a really fast router already. On my 200Mbps service from Timewarner, my previous router clocks in 244Mbps-- of course, give you have a good modem. Now with the Orbi, I am hitting 275Mbps! I don't need to subscribe to a 300Mbps to get good speeds close to 300Mbps. So the bandswitching perhaps works in terms of placing you where it may best perform for you. And so far, I have not been experiencing any drops or loss in connection-- this is in a 2000 SQ Ft area and I placed the satellite on an area where there are walls that may compromise wifi signal. The downside though for this one is that it does not have a USB 3.0 connection for a media device. It only has USB 2.0 so I do not know how fast it will load my saved videos. I've had it for days and I'm still trying to figure out how to access my media files from my connected hard disk. So that's a bummer. In general, I think, if you are a busy person, who likes your house nice and posh and don't have time to tinker with your gadgets, this fits the bill. No multi-SSIDs, whole home coverage, plug-and-play, very fast, looks pretty and not bulky at all!

Great way to expand out WiFi to the lower floor of our home.

Worked good for the first few days but then began to run slower after a while. Speed test stopped working as well.
