I purchased this because I live in a home that would be considered “cut up” with lots of walls and long hallways. The $499.99 Linksys was great if I were in the room or very close by, but it would drop in the living room that was only about 40 feet away. This Orbi solves the problem with its mesh system of what I call extenders although that’s not correct. They pass the base units signal off to the satellite unit seamlessly. And what a signal. I was paying for the Spectrum internet package of 200 down 10 up and when I would run a speed test I was lucky to get 100 down and 4 up. A soon as I installed this unit, and it’s super easy to install by the way I started getting 224 Down and 10 up so I upgraded to their 400/20 package and now checking my speeds on the satellite unit I am getting up to 435 Down and 21 up. This is in an 1800 sqft home so I should be getting these speeds. With the old Linksys that just wasn’t happening but this Orbi hasn’t slowed down since I got it. Don’t waste your time on those units with 10 antennae’s they can’t compare with this. Don’t believe me please try it. I promise you you won’t return it!

Couldn’t have been happier with a mesh set up, very easy to set up. The app works great event to remote in and check on devices. The parental app side is fantastic to group different devices and set up time blocks for kids or teens to be online. Very helpful feature! Dual signals allow me to set up guest network but have the other signal for home devices. Space I set it up was a 2 bedroom condo, about 1,500sqft, nodes are about 20ft apart and get signal all the way past the Garage where we didn’t before.

I recommend this product with no hesitation. The two unit system covers my .25 acre lot from front to back and side to side including all areas of the house. I can be in the garage or in the shed in the fairly large backyard and have no signal issues at all. The throughput is solid even when connected to the secondary unit with speed tests that confirm excellent performance. It’s not the cheapest nor is it the lowest profile option but the design of the unit fits well despite its size and the performance is well worth the the potential cons one might think it has.

After a whole lot of research (which included CNET reviews) we chose the Orbi mesh system. It has so many different features that our old system simply did not offer. Setup was incredibly simple. I don’t believe it could possibly have been any easier. The ability to privately share your password, to putting time limits on guests access, to being able to “pause” internet services to your kids xbox or tv when they are in trouble are only some of the great features that the Orbi mesh system offers. Furthermore, we no longer have any dead spots in our 4600sf, 3 story home. There are a lot of walls in our home to contend with as well and there is no interruption in service. The speed is so much faster as well. So much so, we upgraded to the next speed through our provider. Wow! I happily recommend the Orbi whole home mesh system. It has proven a very good fit for my family and most likely will fit yours well too.

I have excellent coverage over my 3000 SF house and can get internet in my backyard and detached garage. Installation was straight forward. I also bought a Nighthawk AC3000 Wifi router to compare against the Orbi and the Orbi router (w/o satellite) did marginally better. When I added the satellite there was no comparison. I wanted internet access my detached garage and backyard and this system gives it so the premium price was worth it to me. However, if my home was any smaller I would have kept the Nighthawk.

This system is delivering amazing signal throughout our entire home (2,400sq. ft.). Was super easy to set-up. Our previous system was so outdated and was not delivering the signal or speed we’re paying for. My wife even approved! We pay for 75mbp service our old system we barely reach 10mbps and a lot things wouldn’t even connect to it. Now with Orbi we are consistently pulling 80-90mbps. We did also add the Netgear-CM1000 Ultra-High Speed DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem so that my have helped the speed as well.

I purchased the Google Nest WiFi first. I couldn’t get it to consistently stay connected despite troubleshooting with Support. So I returned it and picked up an Orbi Pros: The set up was super simple and painless compared to the Google Nest WiFi. The app is straight forward and easy to understand. It does not require you to configure anything special or switch your modem/router to special modes. Set up took about 15-20 mins max. It also has multiple Ethernet ports in the router and the satellite Cons: It’s much larger than my Xfinity Xfi modem/router, so be prepared that it will take up space. It doesn’t come with a speaker system, lighting or a voice assistant like Google (that’s wasn’t a deal breaker for me). Despite the size I love it. It gets the job done in a way that no other system has been able to accomplish for me. We now get a strong signal throughout our entire home with no problems

I own a old two story house so for me I had area's in my house where I couldn't pick up my Wi Fi. After talking with a sells person he talked me into buying this model and I'm glad I did. It was easy to set up and has been easy to use. Now I can go in every room in the house and have coverage. Very Happy Giving it 4 stars because of the high price.

Worked better than I thought. Easy to set up and the speed is great better than my last modem. Reaches further too.

Purchased this product after xmas. Reason for buying it is I own a large brick 5200sqft home not including the basement. Currently still using my N600 modem router combo just switched off the router signal and using the modem only. Using the Orbi system compared to the N600 with dual band netgear range extender there is no contest. Places where I had dead spots in the house or just 1 bar is now at full bars everywhere. The speeds of the wifi and signal strength for each individual device is much inproved. The tri band orbi system really does eliminate issues. I have approx 22 devices on my wifi at anyone 1 time with 0 signal/lag/buffering issues, even with streaming 4k videos. Product was simple to use and set up. Mobile app works great. Cost is a bit much but for a 1 time investment it will be worth it. Only issue I had was the distance I had to place the sattelite unit from the router to maintain optimal signal strength. Basically had to put it in the room directly above the router instead of centralizing it on the second floor to maximize the coverage for the 3rd floor, but I havent had any complaints from the family about internet performance. I currently use comcast blast internet with 150Mbps. Would of given 5 stars if not for the cost being 399. I curren

I bought this not too long ago because my internet WiFi was horrible and we kept having to reset the router . After setting this up I can’t even explain how much better it is, we now have WiFi in areas of the house that have always been dead spots , and it’s is much faster now with uploading & downloading. I had one problem and it wasn’t with how it operated . It didn’t come with any directions, even though it was very easy to set up, that was after I looked theough other reviews and found out what I needed to do, and all I needed to do was “sync” the router to the satellite, and that was very quick, after that it was great , it works so well I removed some of the extenders I had around the house, no need for them anymore, I absolutely love it and I’m so glad I bought it, it really works wonders and no limit on how many you can have using it at once . The traffic doesn’t slow down the WiFi at all!!!! Go and buy this and i guarantee you will love it also!!!!

Finally completed coverage of my 2000 square foot home. I've tried the 500 dollar nighthawk and always had slow speeds or even disconnected in the master bathroom. Tried the eero pro mesh but the speeds weren't as fast as the orbi ac3000. I've seen some reviews about disconnecting wifi and daily reboots but I haven't had any of these issues. Also got the system on sale for 270. I was skeptical about a mesh system having lag and issues for my kids gaming on xbox and ps4 and to my surprise the kids say the wifi is the best it's ever been. Streaming multiple TVs in 4K while kids gaming has been flawless. I was wish I'd have gotten this system sooner but again was skeptical about a mesh system's performance. So far the best wifi we've had, performance is equal to the so called high end streaming/gaming routers that cost 500 for a single unit but with 3 times the coverage.

We have been having issues of losing wifi connection at home and since we got this system, it never happened again. The install is effortless, the design is sleek and the signal reaches the whole house and our backyard. The only thing i was looking for is the router setup control...there is not much on the app i can control as far as wifi settings but it’s fine for those who aren’t like me who gets to the nitty gritty of things. It’s like plug and play so i would recommend it to majority of users.

I replaced an older Netgear 11g/n 2.4 GHz/5GHz router and a Netgear extender with a 2 unit Orbi system. What a difference. The Orbi system provided a noticeable performance improvement and a unified SSID eliminating the need to connect to multiple wifi networks. Easy to configure and setup with the smartphone app. It was up and running in about 10 minutes. Well worth the money if you are looking for an upgrade from older wifi technology.

I live in a condo which I always had problem with range and my last router was ASUS ac5300 and I still had a dead corners in my condo and garage and I decided to return this router and get something else and Best Buy rep highly recommended ORBI I decided to go with it and got the Orbi and I installed it in 5 min and man range is CRAZY I got coverage every corner I get signal even outside of my house I highly recommend this

Loving whole house coverage with Orbi. The way my house is set up I had to put the main base station in the basement on the right side of my home. With my previous router my signal was in and out on the second floor. With the Orbi base station in the basement and the additional satellite located on the first floor (about 20’ away if it were line of sight) all of my WiFi issues are cured. My Nest Cam now works flawlessly.

I have had this system for about two months now after having an older NetGear 1750ac and it has more than exceeded my expectations. My old router was getting bogged down with all the connected devices in my household (roughly 12) and having issues with getting a solid network connection throughout. This system has been the perfect solution! Range is fantastic and speeds are just as fast if not faster. My current internet package delivers up to 150mbps and I am able to achieve this through a speed test. As far as setup is concerned, the directions are very easy to follow and I had everything running in about 10 minutes after doing a firmware update. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for increased coverage in their household or just wanting a simpler dual band system without wanting to have to worry about what network each device needs to be connected to.

Very easy to setup love the range able to have all computers, phones, and tv devices on Wifi for a family of five now great investment.

We've only owned for about four weeks so far. Easy to set up. I'm using my system in Access Point mode and letting my cable router handle the routing portion. I'm in a large 4500 sq ft house. The primary (router) is in the front upper level, and the satellite is downstairs in the middle-rear. We have great continuous coverage throughout the house and immediately outside for us in the yard, patio or driveway

Love that I have no dead zones, system is very stable and I am receiving lightning speed even wirelessly for streaming and using multiple devices all at once.
