The product is simple to setup out of the box. It boosted the signal in my living room where streaming tv had been an issue with constant buffering. Buffering is no longer an issue!

I purchased the Netgear powerline AC1000 WiFi AP and Adapter because I had very weak WiFi in a bedroom that is shielded from my router's WiFi by built-in furniture. There is no in-between location to plug in a WiFi repeater, so this seemed like the best alternative.
The system was trivially easy to set-up. The instructions are clear and simple. I had it unboxed and up and running within 15 minutes. The WiFi signal is now strong in the bedroom and the link light says that the powerline link is good for >80 Mbps. Unfortunately, speed tests give me 35 - 38 Mbps. By contrast, my main WiFi provides 300 - 350 Mbps. I expected power line communication to be slower, but not quite this slow given a good powerline connection. Nevertheless, 35+ Mbps is more than I need in that one bedroom, so I am completely satisfied with this product.
One more point - I thought about adding another powerline WiFi AP in another dead spot in my house. However, Netgear does not appear to sell APs separately, even though the instructions clearly tell how to add up to 7 more APs to the powerline network. The other dead spot is far away from my router and a WiFi repeater will work for this.

I always buy Netgear products for quality and easy installation. However, this product is not perfect yet and needs a lot of patience and tweaking. I am very computer and networks savvy so I'm typically comfortable with installation.
However, for this product initially had to reset it to factory default few times till I got it to work. Further, you need to run it few days till it is really stable and you get the ALL GREEN lights.
If you see the red light don't be alarmed but the units goes to sleep mode so the light turns red which is confusing during installation given you don't know that you picked a good location or not.
WiFi does not boost well to iPhone X or Xs but works great with laptops. I was going to return it but figured just use it for now till something better comes in the market.
Highly priced, but it is internet over power so buy it if you really need it otherwise I don't recommend.

I have tried signal boosters in the past with no luck. I was VERY skeptical. However…. It worked like a charm. Blazing fast internet for gaming. Worth every penny. I cannot believe I did not try this sooner!

This item worth the cost when you need a better wifi signal in a basement room that has steel doors. Using the house wiring is a plus as it gets you a good signal when obstacals are in the way.}ie steel doors} There are no drop-outs of the wifi signal.

The latest Verizon FiOS G3100 WiFi 6 router mentions that there is limited compatibility beyond its similarly configured Verizon FiOS E3200 extender and my purchase of the Netgear Powerline AC1000 bore that out in that it lost its IP address and internet connectivity after performing spectacularly for almost 30 minutes. The addition of an outlet is of great assistance over previous powerline hardware designs. I would recommend this product if it is proven that there could be long term compatibility with your home internet systems

I bought this for the sole purpose of eliminating a weak spot in my townhome. My router (a Netgear Nighthawk) is in the basement, and I would frequently have connectivity/buffering issues when trying to stream video or even download standard webpages while in bed 2 floors up. The PowerLINE eliminated that problem. Setup was easy, and connectivity remains solid throughout my home. PLEASE NOTE: as the unit uses the electric wiring in your house/apartment to transmit Wi-Fi, it needs to be plugged directly into a wall outlet as opposed to a powerstrip/surge protector.

Installed in a detached guest house which had a seperate electrical panal but fed from the same source as the house. The plug checker showed red as in least powerful however the signal provides full bars on all my devices including phone, streaming boxes, computer, gaming, and tablet.

I bought this device to help with my new Ring floodlights in my driveway. There was too much aggregate thickness for the signal from the Ring to establish a good connection to my wireless router. I tried the Ring Chime Plus but again, too much material for the signal to go through. I had used the wired version of this product years ago and it worked great. I figured that if I set it up at the closest electrical outlet and send the signal through the electrical grid in my house that it should work great. And, yes it did! I get a much better signal from Ring now and I can use all of it's features. Highly recommended.

I use this to cross a house and then have a mesh router to bring WiFi out to a remote yard area. It had good strength over interior household wiring but loses speed through exterior wiring to a shop. Easy to use, tells you the quality of the connection at various outlets quickly.
