I originally bought this out of nostalgia from when I used to play the original on N64 when I was a kid. I wanted to play this with my daughter. We have definitely gotten our moneys worth out of it, played it for hours. Still a fun game!

Love it! Very cute game. I’m very impressed with this game. At first I thought who wants to just sit there and take pictures but it is so much more than that. Kind of like being on a Safari. Some of the Pokémon are hiding so it will be a challenge to get good pictures of them. Not as easy as one might think.

10/10 recommend! If you played the original on the N64 it’s packed of nostalgia and will warm your heart to bring you back but in this new way. If you’re new to Snap you’ll love it too! Excellent graphics, fun courses, tons of poses to unlock. I love it!

Lots of family fun. Great graphics. We have the original pokemon snap for the wii and it was always a favorite. This new version is simply amazing. Lots of levels, old and new school pokemon.

It's been so long since the original N64 game for making a Pokemon Snap game. It makes Pokemon feel so much more like actual wildlife instead of just fighting with them.

New Pokémon Snap on Nintendo Switch is an absolute delight — a relaxing, heartwarming journey that captures the magic of Pokémon in a way few games ever have. Instead of battling, you get to explore stunning islands, observe Pokémon in their natural habitats, and photograph them in lively, authentic moments. Watching Pokémon play, interact, nap, or just exist in their worlds feels incredibly immersive and charming.
The environments are gorgeous — from glowing nighttime forests to sunny beaches and mysterious deserts — and the details make each run through the same area feel fresh. The Illumina phenomenon adds a fun, mysterious layer to your adventure, giving you a reason to dig deeper into the story and keep discovering new surprises.
The in-game photo tools are fantastic, letting you edit, filter, and decorate your best shots before saving or sharing them. Competing for higher star ratings and seeing how your photos stack up globally adds a really fun challenge without ever feeling stressful.
Whether you're a longtime fan of the original N64 classic or new to this peaceful side of the Pokémon world, New Pokémon Snap delivers a calming, joyful, and surprisingly magical experience. It’s one of the most wholesome games on the Switch — perfect for unwinding, exploring, and falling in love with Pokémon all over again

I got this on a sale and I’m glad I did. The game is very similar on its mechanics compared to the first Pokemon Snap that came many years ago on the N64, but with new modernized features. The camera now has a radar to spot unusual behavior on the trail and find hidden Pokemon, stages include more “Mew-like” events, and there are now optional side tasks that encourage you to find a way to get a specific picture like a reaction or showing hidden stuff like Hoot Hoot’s hidden foot. Awesome game.

New Pokemon Snap is a return for the dormant 21 year old Pokemon Snap spinoff series, and what a return it is! Fans of Pokemon have waited years for a true sequel to the original, quirky Snap N64 game, and this Switch sequel does not disappoint, for the most part. It is amazing to see so many true to size Pokemon (over 200 across all 8 generations) in their real life habitats, coexisting and interacting with other Pokemon. Using the camera to take pictures, throwing fluffruit and illumina orbs, scanning, and using the Pokeflute, brings back memories of the N64 game, while still remaining engaging enough for newcomers. The game is overflowing with content (as well as supported by a free DLC drop) and the chase to catalogue each Pokemon and complete requests to get pictures of crazy Pokemon behaviors is truly exciting and satisfying. My one qualm about New Pokemon Snap is the lack of Pokemon evolutions (like in the original); if you're an old school fan returning for the nostalgia, you might miss these, but it's not a game breaker. Whether you are a new or old fan of Pokemon, if you are looking for something different and unique outside of the standard catch and battle 'em all, New Pokemon Snap has you covered. There's truly nothing else like it in the franchise.

Love this game! I played the OG Snap and had very fond memories, so this was a nice game update. Would recommend it to any Pokemon or photographer enthusiast!
