I have this dashcam along with the rear view attachment mounted on my Porsche GT3. This dashcam provides the most unobtrusive, high quality piece of mind, whether it be crazy drivers or Madmax cops. The mobile and PC apps are very easy to use. I can even stitch clips together on the PC app to create a nice video of any picturesque/spirited drive I take. Low light videos are clear and crisp with no grains.

Good, clear photos and app works well. My only complaint is that every few days the camera needs to be reset by pushing the reset button on the camera. Otherwise it will not work while driving. Alexa connectivity is a minor issue.

not connecting to phone iOS

Couldn’t connect my phone to the camera so I looked it up and seems a lot of people having the same issue connecting phone to the camera through the app. Those features were half the reason I bought this model and I can’t use them. Upgraded the camera with a computer and seems to be taking good video... will update after I figure it all out.

On your iPhone, go into Settings- MyNextbase- Location- Ensure this is set to 'Always'. Then re-start the phone and camera. This should resolve the connection issue.

Camera has short longevity.

Two years after purchase, the battery no longer holds a charge. There seems to be no good way to replace it (the Nextbase part store does not ship outside of the UK), and with a camera that expensive, this is extremely disappointing.
The 15-second back-recording is mostly useless as I often have to go into the camera and manually, painstakingly, protect a clip prior to the one saved with the button press. Since the battery no longer works, I can only do this while its mounted, with power applied to it.
The 4k video quality is adequate, nothing more.
On the brighter side, the mounting system is top-notch and the glare filter works very well.

Great camera

Great camera with extremely clear recording. I paired it with a rear-facing camera and it covers everything. Also nice having it automatically record when the car experiences a bump like a big pothole. This is annoying with potholes but if your car is hit (even lightly) it records and saves/protects the incident.
Downside: it constantly says "insert memory card" when starting the car even though one is installed

Freezes up

Like the many reviews it froze up on the third day 2 times. 2nd time it wouldn't turn off no matter what I did. I had to leave it frozen until it went off by itself. I formated card again, updated firm ware again so I'll see what happens.
Set up was great, app is very useful. Love the touch screen. Video is very good.
Now I'm looking for another brand
Hello, It sounds like you may be experiencing an SD card failure. SD cards only have limited lifespans. In our manuals we recommend formatting every 2-3 weeks to prolong the life of the card. Without this regular formatting, or if the card is non-compatible or damaged, the card could corrupt which would cause a failure of data writing. Symptoms of SD card failure are: an audible 'alarm' tone, non-functional buttons, freezing, corrupted files on playback, image missing from files, lack of file recording etc. I'd recommend checking that the SD card that you're using is compatible with the 622GW and is being formatted at least every 2 weeks. Decent Camera

I like some of the software features this has, but there are some odd things too. Sometimes when my card gets full, it will stop recording totally. It is supposed to record over old footage, but it is not doing that even with the settings adjusted. I do not like how I cannot view my footage with the SD card on my laptop. It is all in mobile app only. The quality and connectivity is good though.

Regarding the SD card, we recommend replacing the one you’re currently using. When an SD card is not designed for a dashcam, it can cause issues, such as preventing proper overwritting. We suggest trying our Nextbase SD cards, which have been specifically designed for our cameras and offer optimal performance. Alternatively, you can use a different brand, but please ensure it's a U3 card made for dashcams to handle the continuous stress of loop recording.

I purchased this right before going on vacation to upgrade my existing front and rear dashcam. It would not allow me to set it up without allowing constant positioning, which is a huge data draw while traveling! The cable to the rear cam wasn't long enough to hide in my Grand Caravan. Picture quality was good.

With the increase in insurance fraud (brake checking, and people deliberately stepping out in front of your vehicle in order to sue YOUR insurance for damages) this camera set works very well to capture the activity ahead of, and behind your vehicle (with the additional rear camera option installed). The videos are clear and easily viewed with a PC. I am VERY happy with this dash cam and the rear window cam that both record to the micro SD card.
