Better than other Dash CAMS experienced

Great Dash CAM and much better than Garmin and Rove units I've tried. Easy setup and control. Phone app works good but a tab bit slow, but very usable. Easy to transfer or delete files. Was able to use a 128GB SIM Card. 622GW does not require polarizing filter since built in. Using the 422GW in other vehicle which I like and reason I wen with the 622GW version.
Freezing is symptomatic of a non-compatible, or non-formatted SD card. If the card is non-compatible or damaged, the card could corrupt which would cause a failure of data writing. Symptoms of SD card failure are: an audible 'alarm' tone, non-functional buttons, freezing, corrupted files on playback, image missing from files, lack of file recording etc. Please ensure the card is formatted every 2-3 weeks. I'd recommend a Dash Cam compatible 8GB -128GB U3 Micro SD card, specifically designed for Dash Cam or CCTV usage. Using a dash cam compatible SD card instead should then allow your Dash Cam to function as designed. The card needs to have a minimum continuous write speed of 48MB/s. If you need any further assistance regarding your SD card, please contact Nextbase Support.

I'm coming from the older model 522gw I believe it was. I also have the 422gw in my girlfriend's car. Those cameras work great with no issues. But I was excited for this one. I made sure to have a fast sd card. But this camera kept freezing on me right after it would boot up when I start the car. It did it maybe 50 percent of the time. It would be stuck on an image it was last looking at. I had to hit the reset button because it wouldn't turn off. I got tired of dealing with that issue. Not worth 399 I can tell you that much. That issue makes the camera useless and if I have to use their sd card, It should have came with it. It's a pain to even find the nextbase sd card. I think the camera has potential. But that issue was a deal breaker for me. I did love the video quality and how fast you can transfer the videos to your phone. That was the best part of this camera. Their older model cameras take forever to transfer the full quality videos to your phone wirelessly.
Hello Shane. Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear of your experience with the 622GW product. From the sounds of it this looks like a faulty SD card issue. With the 622GW recording in full 4K it requires an ultra high speed U3 card for best results and from testing we have found the Nextbase cards are best to use. I am sorry to hear it was hard trying to find a nextbase card, we are releasing the 64GB and 128GB cards into Best Buy soon. As a gesture of goodwill, we would be happy to send out a replacement Nextbase SD card to you. Please send an email onto [email protected] and we can get the sorted for you. Thanks, Nextbase

Works great. Nice picture quality. App is a little confusing.

I've had Nextbase dash cams before (422) which was excellent. I haven't set up all of the features on the 622. I would like to have it hardwired into the Jeep, but that seems to be a bit out of my area of ability. If I had to do a critic on the function of the unit, that would be the interior cam. The cam is made really for right hand drive vehicles.

I really like this dash cam system. I have it hardwired to the car and works well for the most part. The only thing I’m really having a problem with is the main camera freezes up at times and restarting seems to help at times. The app isn’t useful at all in my experience. Overall i would give it a 7/10.
Hello, Freezing is symptomatic of an SD card issue. Without regular formatting, or if the card is non-compatible or damaged, the card could corrupt which would cause a failure of data writing. Symptoms of SD card failure are: an audible 'alarm' tone, non-functional buttons, freezing, corrupted files on playback, image missing from files, lack of file recording etc.
I'd recommend checking: 1. Your camera is on the latest firmware. 2 You are using a compatible SD card. 3. You care formatting every 2 weeks.
If you're not sure if your SD card is compatible, you can contact us directly at [email protected] to check.

I had my dual dash cam installed and hardwired by Best Buy.
My first unit lost its video and Best Buy replaced it with no questions asked.
I did contact Nextbase in the UK. I must say I had an excellent customer service rep, Milliie. She shared the reason I had issues with my dash cam. I feel comfortable with the unit.

Picked one up for $300 on sale. This thing gets hot fast and its the middle of December… concerning. Most users are right about the software being clunky but i didnt have any issues connecting to the device. Just tap the screen first to wake it up. I dont like that this starts recording AFTER it feels a bump in park mode. Also the battery that it runs off while in park mode is awful. I know its only for that emergency bump while your car is off but 10 minutes of screen time is pretty bad.

I purchased and installed the Nextbase Dash Cam in my vehicle in early August. It boots when the ignition is turned and shuts down when the ignition is turned off. The video is available via a phone app for downloading. So far, it works as advertised. And, the images are quite good.

The app doesn't work as it should, will not display live view or maps even though it claims it is connected. I have gone through all phone settings to make it easy to connect to, but most of the features are unavailable, is it because the app is a UK app and a US phone Samsung Galaxy S21 Max. The Literature explaining features and how to set up are vague. Polarizer setting is impossible with the small screen thus might be better without it.

This is not what I expected. There's very little options available. You cannot turn off the Nextbase brand logo from the recorded videos. The most annoying thing is the vignette that the camera applies to the bottom corners of the video and there's no way to turn it off. Also they have a bottom title bar on the screen which prevents a clear view of the whole frame that is being captured. This product is a turn-off and I'm totally unsatisfied.
The video quality is okay.

I bought it 15 days ago and took an 84 mile trip, it lost connection, the screen went completely black, I had to unplug the camera and it didn't record again for around three hours. Otherwise very good but not reliable on a long journey.

Do not waste your money on this camera

I purchased the front and rear camera setup for a little over $600. All the reviews said this was one of the better camera's on the market. After about 6 months of owning the setup, which was installed by Best Buy's Geek Squad, the rear camera integration started to fail. The rear camera would start to show static, or nothing at all. After months of working with Nextbase, they replaced the rear camera, which did not solve the issue. Months later they replaced the front camera. Both replacements were refurbished devices, yet the problem persists.
At this point, I am ready to rip out this product and find a better replacement. I would not recommend anyone throw away their money on this Nextbase 622GW camera setup.
