Excellent quality and well built. Images and video quality are excellent and best-in-class and the unit is tiny enough to put in any areas of the windshield. Some things that could be better mostly rests on the software side of this dashcam. The UI is not easy to link up and sometimes have glitches with the app. The unit only takes certain types of SD cards so make sure you get one that performs in high heat and at quick speeds. The unit is costly but for one of the best-in-class, it is expected. Fix some of the software glitches and nagging issues with SD card, and it would be perfection!

Camera quality and video clarity from the camera is very good. Ease of setting up and connecting it my android phone was very easy. Yet to test it out completely, so far it has held good. Couple of things I would've expected from the price was, they could've bundled the hard wire kit in the box, another thing which I felt miss was the suction mount. (They gave provided sticky base which is of very high quality).

The dash cam's quality is great, the Nextbase app is simple to use just have to tinker with it for a while until you get the hang of it. The best part of this purchase for me was the sales rep that helped me out twice since when i first purchased the system i got the 32gb memory card and apparently somebody got into the box and took the memory card before the purchase, the rep. accepted the return no questions asked and order me a new one . The second time i went in to buy the rear view camera add on and noticed the same dash cam system was on sale for $80 cheaper so to my surprise i got the same sales rep again and he remembered me and was able to get me the discount for the dash cam i purchased a week earlier, such a GREAT REP seriously saved me big on my purchase , sadly i did not get the name of the rep i hope somehow Best Buy can ID who helped me with all this i know not much of a review on the dash cam , it is good quality and easy to use, a little pricey but worth it with all its add ons and features. Thanks to the sale reps a Best Buy i had a hassle free and friendly experience!!

I was looking for a dash cam to replace my aging and non-functional Owlcam. I know the value of a dependable dash cam, as my previous captured an accident and immediately proved I was not at fault. I did my research and discovered NextBase brand. Nextbase is a leading dash cam manufacturer in the UK as well as globally. I decided to check them out and quickly came to a conclusion that the 622GW is the model I wanted. It records in gorgeous 4K and you can downgrade the video quality if you like. It also records 1080P 120FPS for super slow motion as well. Image stabilization and enhanced night vision sealed the deal. So far so good and I'm happy with the purchase.

Setting up the dash cam and mounting it is pretty easy. It records in excellent quality. Only issue I have with it is it occasionally freezes up and I end up having to reset the device or formatting the sd card. Connection between the device and my phone while using the app isn’t the best but it does work and I’m able to review footage from the dash cam. Overall device performs excellently but the user interface on the app could use some work

The 622GW is the best dashcam I've ever used. The video is excellent! Easy install and setup. I added the wide-angle cabin cam too. Links to phone easily (with app.) My first week with the unit was very problematic though. When starting the car, half the time, it would just lockup. The only way to get it back was the hard reset button on the bottom. Tried formatting the card (a Nextbase 32gb) several times, reset the unit etc. No luck. I replaced the card and no more issues. So it was a bad memory card. Now all is great! Not a single lockup since replacing the memory card.

The camera itself is of great quality however the app, which arguably is needed, consistently struggles to work. More often than not, I just give up trying to connect the app which then requires you to remove the card and use a PC to fetch the footage.

so far its done what I need it to do. it does take a little time to go through the settings and set it up to you're liking but once that's done you essentially never have to touch it again. I bought the whole kit with the rear camera and hardwire kit, its simple enough to install yourself so you don't have to worry about paying for a service to set it all up for you. literally YouTube a video on how to hardwire dashcams and you'll find plenty of easy to follow walkthroughs. the only issue I've ran into here and there is sometimes the app doesn't want to sync with your phone. not a huge deal, just reset your wifi and Bluetooth connections, close out and reopen the app and it usually fixes the issue. that also brings up the fact im not too big on it using both Bluetooth and wifi to connect to my phone. overall its a good product. if you buy a sd card for it make sure its a U3 rated card, otherwise the camera will give you an error saying the cards read and write speeds aren't fast enough.

4K quality is good not great, easy to set up, I like the app but setting it up was a bit confusing at first but the app itself is good. I wouldn’t use the image stabilization don’t see the benefit. Overall it the best dash cam that money can buy with a bunch of neat features tho I wish the 4K would go to 60 FPS or just better 4K quality.

This dashcam mostly met all my expectations. The video quality is very good though I wish the viewing angle was a little bit wider (140 degrees versus my 180 degrees on my previous Garmin Dash Cam Tandem). I also wish that the mount would allow the camera itself rotate 360 degrees or at least 180 degrees. I've read other reviews stating that the data transfers were slow abd that the camera would not automatically connect when entering the car. I did not experience any slowness in data transfer (with both the stock and latest firmware), but I did experience the camera not always connecting. To resolve this, I stopped the app manually on my android and then when entering my car it connected to my phone after starting the app and worked perfectly. It's a bit of a hassle, but not a deal breaker for me. Overall, it's not perfect but is light years ahead of the Garmin Tandem even without the infrared cabin cam that comes with the Garmin. It's pricey at MSRP but I bought it on sale for $299 and that price I highly recommend this camera. It would be especially nice if they came out with an infrared cabin camera at a lower price.

I spent several days researching several different dash cams, and I picked this one up at my regional Best Buy store. With some added extras I purchased, it is easy to move in between 2 different vehicles. I have also dumped the footage into my pro video editing app on my PC and had no issues with the codecs. Great quality to the footage even at standard HD 1080p. It is the best option to buy the Nextbase brand micro SD cards, because these dash cameras are CONSTANTLY deleting and writing files to the cards, so you want one with the high endurance memory. The one thing I do not like about having to do that is, the cards a pretty pricey. Other than that, I love this dash cam!

So far so good! Great little cam for the 4k video and managed to get it on sale as well. I haven't had any of the issues of some others with the camera locking up or the like. Currently using a Samsung 128gb u3 microSD card. comes with both suction and double side tape mount, which is nice. Going to be purchasing a hardwire kit in the future to get rid of the cig lighter adapter. For those looking at aftermarket hardware - the mount is a bit tricky. Requires mini-USB and has a right angle adapter to plug into the docking station. Did have some issues connecting my andriod phone to the camera that were resolved after disabling VPN.

    Unreliable Camera. Do Not Buy

I had really high hopes for this camera, but unfortunately I have to give it one star. I would love to discuss all the cameras features and video quality, but unfortunately mine didn't work correctly. After a few months of working it would start to freeze and would not record more than about 5 minutes of footage, and it would just sit there with a black screen and be completely unresponsive. Looking online, this seems to be a very common issue with this model and Nextbase does not seem to take responsibility and just resorts to blaming third party SD cards. My SD card is working fine in other cameras. Thankfully I had the Best Buy protection plan, but without it I would have been nearly $500 out for a new dash camera. Because of its unreliability, I simply cannot recommend this camera. Imagine if somebody crashed into you and then they started saying that it was your fault, and you go to pull up your dashcam footage just to find out that it wasn't recording the whole time. When it was working, it seemed to be a pretty decent camera. As with all dash cameras, video quality was pretty mediocre, but the built in polarizer filter helped a little bit. However, the lens stuck out quite a bit from the camera and would end up very close to the windshield in my car, which made the polarizer filter less effective. Video from the front camera was heavily compressed and not very clear, and any license plate further than about 100 feet was unreadable. Sadly, this is actually pretty good compared to other dash cameras, but in the grand scheme of things it's still pretty bad. Rear video quality was horrible. It was very grainy and did not have a lot of detail. I would love to show you any pictures and videos, but I don't have any because I reformatted my SD card multiple times in an attempt to get it to work again and never saved any footage. The camera attached magnetically to the windshield mount, but the mounting system made reattaching the camera without adjusting it out of alignment very difficult. The optional rear cameras mounting system was horrible. You just get a little plastic piece that sticks to your windshield and the camera simply sticks on magnetically and is held in by friction. I found that over time the camera would slowly turn to one side and I had to constantly readjust it. The camera had a decent amount of features. It had rear camera compatibility, or you could also get a cabin camera instead. It had GPS. It had a basic parking mode. And had an app through which you can download the videos to your phone, get a live view or change camera settings. It also had Alexa integration, although I never used it. Parking mode worked OK. It ran off the camera's battery, but I never managed to figure out how long it would run for. It was your standard parking mode where the camera detects a short clip after it detects an impact.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback on the 622GW. We genuinely appreciate your insights and apologize for the issues you've encountered.

We're sorry to hear about the challenges you faced with your camera freezing and not recording properly. We have developed the 622GW as our flagship product of the series 2 range and have seen great results across Europe and North America in how it performs. Some key things which can help sustain the performance of the camera is regularly formatting the SD card from first time use. We recommend to do this every 2 weeks (depending on the amount of driving you complete). This will ensure the card works as intended as its being put through its paces quite a lot.

We understand how frustrating this must have been, especially when relying on a dashcam for crucial moments. We take your experience seriously and are proud of the reliability of our products.
The camera is designed to mount discreetly in your vehicle without compromising performance, parking mode is an excellent feature, providing protection to your vehicle when its stationary.

Thank you again for your time, I’m sorry to hear you have had some challenges, we would love the option to put things right for you. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

This is an excellent camera, however, it is VERY expensive and I'm not sure why someone would purchase this camera rather than possibly using a GoPro for a better value. For a dashcam specifically, I don't know if you'll find a better one.

      Hello Mark,

The Rear Window Camera has a 6.5m cable. I'm afraid this is a set length cable and an extension cable is not available for this model.
