a good game just got better with nier automan! I loved the first and if you loved it or final fantasy games you shouldl buy this asap! 10/10 music, story, grafix and control!!!

Positives: easy gameplay, B+ storytelling, beautiful music and voice acting. Negatives: super repetitive fighting, multiple endings that also become repetitive if you really want to finish the whole game, and I was really tired of the annoying camerawork where you're looking up the main character's skirt whenever you're running so that means all the time. Obviously some people enjoy that and I'm not one of them. Overall, glad to have played the game once, but replayability? Nah, move on to better games.

This isn't the first copy of NieR: Automata I've purchased, but I believe in the game's value so much I decided to gift my first copy to a friend and then buy it again. The fact that this is perhaps the only game I've ever felt comfortable buying twice is testament to its success as a video game. While it has the signature Platinum combat style (albeit one of their weaker combat models), it's outside of combat where the game absolutely shines. This game's storytelling chops are some of the best in the industry, the soundtrack is exceptional, and the characters are multifaceted without being convoluted. I do have to point out, however, that the game's side quests are largely very fetch-questy, but aren't necessarily that important beyond understanding the world's inhabitants a bit better. I would suggest researching which side quests to do in order to maximize the world-building while minimizing rote fetching. Also, when people say you have to play the game multiple times to truly experience it, they're only half right. The second playthrough repeats the first route's story through the eyes of a second character, with some major gameplay and story differences as such. The third playthrough is more like unlocking the second chapter of the story, where it takes place after the events of the first two. If you've played an Adventure-era Sonic title with their multiple stories, think of it like them. Would I recommend this version over a normal copy of NieR: Automata? Probably not. Unless it's on sale, you can stick with the normal version as the DLC is a few arenas with some mediocre rewards. Unless you thoroughly enjoy the game's combat (again, not some of Platinum's best), I'd recommend just going for the base package.

Everything about this game is simply amazing: the story, characters, music, gameplay, etc. I would highly recommend this game to PS4 owners. It’s definitely a game that can not be missed!

This is one of those games that is difficult to describe without spoiling. It is a third person action RPG with a very strange story. If you love a mature story-line, refinded game-play, and a very Japanese flavor of role playing game, I think you will not regret this. The additional DLC of this edition is not necessary to fully experience the game, unless the prices are about the same, don't bother and just get the original edition.

I’ve only played about ten hours so far but this game has been a platformer, an action-rpg, a twin stick shooter, and more. The world is beautiful and the combat is generally pretty cool. The fights are a bit simple on regular difficulty so far but can be cranked up if that’s your thing. Customizing your character can is different in that you install chips that take up memory space in your android body. Your standard HUD elements (HP, Map, etc) take 18/40 slots in the beginning so you could completely disable the HUD to enable 2 more power ups. The story is pretty engaging and the dialogue is smart.

One of the top 10 games this generation. Very good story and the game itself looks beautiful. The action is smooth and the game is worth a few playthroughs.

It’s a great game, loved the story and the characters. The easy mode is perfect for people that are in it for the story (which is a little mature at times) and some parts of the game can be a bit challenging no matter your difficulty setting. There’s no auto-save so remember to save often and make sure to keep playing after the first credits roll, you need the 5 “endings” to see the whole history!

I can’t believe that I’ve waited this long to play this game. Everything about it is great. Only complaint is that it’s not 4K optimized. But that really doesn’t matter. It’s beautiful anyways. If you like games like devil may cry you will love this game. It mashes a few genres together that you would think wouldn’t work and makes them play perfectly. Soundtrack is phenomenal. Story is good. And replay ability is great. When you think the games over it’s not. This game is definitely worth the money.

The music, gameplay, and story are almost perfect! Please don't miss out on this masterpiece of a game!

This is my favorite game of all time. This game is one that will have you question the meaning of your own existence and destroy you emotionally. The gameplay is fluid and dynamic, the characters are believable and lovable and the music is some of the absolute best. If you have ANY interest in this title, please get it. And play through all three routes.

One of the best looking PS4 games I've played so far. The combat is engaging, and the music is fantastic. Be prepared to play the game 3 times though to get your full money's worth though. That is what you need to do for the true ending. It sounds daunting, but it's worth it for the great ending. Each run is a little different, so it doesn't get dull.

This a very unique and awesome game. The uniqueness about this game is that is mainly an action RPG, but it will morph to a sidescroller and shoot-em-up in different parts of the game. The story is also interesting in that there are multiple endings for you to get every time you start another playthrough.

I love NieR automata definitely in a tie as my favorite ps4 game right next to persona 5! Would highly recommend this to anyone not just because of the game play and story but the meaning behind the game is such a deep and philosophical adventure that really make you rethink your life and how you see the world. I had to buy this again for the ps4 background and dlc!

This game is so great this is the second time I’ve bought it, the first was on Xbox a little while back. It’s a really interesting game with a fantastic story that I’ve gotten really invested in, and the new game plus makes for a ton of new and fun gameplay after you beat it for the first time. The game also looks beautiful and runs very well.

This is a really unique action game with RPG elements. I really enjoyed the combat in this game, its fast and fun and there are a lot of different weapons and ways to customize the combat. The game also has really interesting characters and a kind of weird story, with a great soundtrack.
