    This is an awesome prime lens from Nikon. I chose this for low light for doing astronomy, ghost hunting and close up of flowers. 50 mm lens tend to be too big for group photos. Very easy to use as automatic.

    I bought this lens before a trip. I liked the focal length and discovered myself using the macro a bit. It's certainly not a lens for everyone, however if you are looking for a macro lens, I recommend this.

    I am so happy I made this purchase. This lens is honestly one of the most fun lenses I've worked with. The images come out crisp and the micro aspect of it is extremely enjoyable to use. All-in-all a great lens for the price.

    I have really enjoyed using this lens for a variety of purposes. It's a decent macro lens and is able to focus even a couple inches away. Great sharpness and clarity of image.

    When this lens occasionally goes on sale, I definitely recommend getting one. It allows for great macro shots. minimum distance for auto-focus is about 0.5 inches, this allows you to get in really close. this is 40mm so it also allows you to take great portrait shots.

    This is a great all purpose lens. Its almost equivalent to a 35mm lens. The images are crisp and sharp. The bokkeh/soft blurr for portraits is also good.

    bought this for my wife for her birthday and her first impression is that it seems to be pretty good. You do have to be careful for what it is that you are trying to focus on as the focus depth is not very much
