Bought this a couple weeks ago- unsure if I would keep it or return it. Took a few pics and it's changed my photo life! Super sharp, reasonable distortion. Seems like a lot of money, but will last 10 years if you take care of it!

its a little heavy. really nice movement. lower light pictures on auto are a bit meh but overall good when you have proper lighting.

The perfect go-to lens for someone just entering the full-frame camera realm. I have it fitted to my Nikon D610.

I purchased this item for my D600. It's a decent, FX kit lens. I've recently upgraded from DX (Cropped sensor) to FX (Full-framed sensor).

It covers so many focal lengths that I don't have to continue changing lenses. Which means more time shooting.

this is a great all around lens to start out with. very nice wide angle lens that i would highly recommend to anyone.

It is a reasonably fast lens (particularly for the price). Have been very pleased with the lens performance.

This lens came with my 610. Although it's a good lens, I prefer my 85 and 50 prime.

Works great on Nikon D600. camera. Can't wait to go on vacation

because i bought the lens to do some senior portraits, i thought having the flexibility of a zoom would be good. in hindsight i would prefer a prime lens

I'm an advanced Enthusiast and have been shooting with a D600 for about 1 month.. thus have not really pushed this lens to it's limits timewise; I've shot in RAW mainly in various lighting conditions and this lense has performed really well!.. Using Capture NX2/LR3.6, you can push to get more out from this lens, can easily sharpen output and get amazing I.Q... At F5.6 the image is sharp! The color rendition is great. Even though this is put out there as a "kit lens".. it really performs above expectations.. utilized properly you can get beautiful results.. Really great for wide shots of architecture and landscapes, and zoomed in nice results of portraits/close-ups - the textures/tones captures can be quite rich actually. The VR works really well, and can assist greatly in low light conditions.. have achieved decent quality at 1/20th on FX with post work of course. Build is plastic, but actually it balances really well on D600 - that is not a negative. It's not a "pro" build lens, but used properly the results are very satisfying. Use this lens combined with a tripod for dusk shots and you get sharp and beautiful shots! Highly recommend to enthusiast or if you're new to FX and on a "budget." Great Lens with Great potential. Improving your technique will enable you to extract the most out of this lens, not any shortcomings "perceived" of the equipment.
