Gift for my 20 year old Granddaughter, who wants to start photography as a hobby. I own a Nikon D5500, and this is a great camera to get started with had everything she'll need to do some good stuff and be successful.

I love photography and I enjoy how easy this camera is to work with. Yes it is a base camera but if your are a hobbiest and not making money in your photos then this is a GREAT camera for you. Thanks Nikon!!!!

Amazing camera great quality with incredible lens.

This camera takes great quality pictures. compact enough to carry around, unless you buy extra lenses, well then you are carrying a heavy bulk. I bought the 70-300mm lens and its heavy. The auto focus is a bit slow. Other than that, it does take great quality pictures and is one of the best cameras out there. I am a beginner photographer and I think it is very user friendly.

The Nikon D3400 is an excellent choice for an entry-level DSLR for anyone who is looking to get into the world of photography. This kit comes with two lenses which will cover almost all shooting scenarios (i.e. portraiture, landscapes, wildlife, sporting events). This camera is also capable of shooting video in 1080p at 60fps, which is great for someone like me who wants to occasionally shoot video as well. The form factor of this DSLR is very ergonomic and lightweight, which eliminates some of the intimidation factor for beginning photographers. My only suggestion would be to buy a spare battery (Nikon brand, not an off-brand), and you'll find that this is a DSLR with which you can grow and expand your photography and video skills.

I am a part time photographer and shoot with a Nikon D750 full frame. I wanted a starter camera for my wife that would be east for her to use, but allow her to explore more advanced settings. This setup was a good fit. While the lenses have a good focal range, they are entry level for sure. But it you are looking for a nice camera for family pics this is pretty good.

After reviewing the options and specs for the cannon and the Nikon entry level DSLR's the best bang for your buck is with the Nikon. Higher megapixels and they threw in the 300mm lenses for free. Great value!

I really love my new camera. It does everything I wanted. It's great that it comes with two lenses. It is very lightweight. I have another Nikon that is too heavy to carry around all the time. This one is perfect.

I got this for my brother who just started getting into photography, he loves it. He said it’s the same camera he learned on in photography class, he said it’s pretty easy to use and has just enough functions for a beginner. Cannot tell it’s so easy to use and all, works perfectly!

This is an excellent kit for a Camera. Body, 2 lenses, case. Includes a DVD on using the camera, plus there are a ton of YOUTUBE videos. Lots of things to control the shot you want but easy to understand.

This is a quality camera for an excellent price. The picture quality is wonderful and it has tons of features and options (many of which I'm still trying to figure out). Well worth purchasing.

Overall this is a great camera had a bit of a problem at first setting up the blue tooth but once I read other reviews I figured it out.
