Like the title states, I'm new to dslr photography but I am a huge technophile so it should be a trade off. The D3400 is an incredible value. I did a ton of research, comparing it to the Canon T5i as well as the T6i. More megapixels, better ISO, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, all in a much lower price than the T6i (t6i has wifi). The unboxing is great with everything meticulously wrapped and protected. A nice touch would be to have the battery as near fully charged as possible when you first take it out of the box. In my case, The battery was almost completely drained and I'm not very patient so I was kind of bummed I had to charge it up first . Other than that, it's a great camera and I'm sure it lacks quite a few features but overall, for a beginner, this bad boy is loaded !

We needed to replace our 5 yr old d3000 that was dropped- the technology and quality of photo has improved significantly with this model for around the same original price tag. We are very novice photographers but find this kit very easy to use and capable of great quality photos.

To date - product is easy to use. Takes good photos. Should come with a cable to connect to a computer. It does not - that is a separate purchase.

This is my first nikon and I am loving it . Last 4 cameras were sony alphas. They good but the nikon is better. Easy to use and takes great pictures.
