As I opened the Ninja Chef Blender, I immediately noticed the heaviness of the base unit and how light the generously-sized, 72 oz. pitcher was. Standing the assembled unit on my countertop it measured approximately 18” tall from top to bottom. The base unit is equipped with four strong suction-cup feet, which are designed to anchor unit into place as you use this appliance. This is a semi-professional blender unit, which would complement any kitchen. What's in the box: * Base unit with powerful 1,500 watt motor. * Lightweight, 72 oz. Pitcher and Lid. * Tamper Tool. * Quick Assembly & Instruction Manual. * Recipe Book with 50 recipes. Setting up the Nija Chef took approximately thirty minutes to include hand washing, drying the Pitcher, Lid Cap, Pitcher Lid, 72 oz. Pitcher, and Tamper, and reading the Quick Assembly Sheet. The four suction-cup feet on the bottom of the base unit is a key feature. Coupled with the weight of the base unit, keeps the Ninja from 'walking', sliding, or tipping over on your countertops, especially during heavy use. The suction-cups adapt and adhere easily to wood, man-made laminates, stone, marble, and tile countertops. After 30 minutes, I was anxious to to try this baby out. I had bananas, strawberrys, and half and half, on-hand, so I made a strawberry banana smoothie. I blended three cups of strawberrys and two cups of cut-up bananas into 2” pieces into the blender. I added one cup of ice, one-half cup of sugar, and set the variable speed dial to the Auto-IQ, preset program, 'Frozen Drink'. As the Nija Chef blended this mixture I noticed it pulled the ingredients from the center, top down and rotated them into the bottom of the pitcher rather quickly. In just one minute, I had two frozen smoothie treats. Yum, Yum! I was 'hooked' after making the simple, quick, and delicious smoothie. The cyclonic action of the blades (pulls down from the center, blends, and returns to the top from the sides), the powerful 1,500 watt motor, 10 Auto-IQ Presets, and 10, variable speed settings on 'Manual' make this a 'Must-Have' and FUN, kitchen appliance for me. Features of the Base Unit: * Six Modes on bottom of base unit – Clean, IQ, Manual, Timer, Pulse, and Auto-IQ Programs. * Timer Display is at top Left in LED white. * The base unit automatically accepts and recognizes the optional 24 oz. Double-Walled, To-Go-Tumbler and the 24 oz. Single Serve Cup. * Stop / Start Button. * In 'Manual' there are 10 variable speed settings. *Auto-IQ Preset Programs – Flour Mill, Frozen Drink, Extract, Smoothie, Soup, Ice Cream, Puree, Dip / Salsa, Dressing, and Nut Butter. * Electrical Cord wraps around base unit neatly for storage. Features of the 72 oz. Pitcher: * Lightweight Pitcher is made from Tritan Plastic, which is BPA-Free and BPS-Free. It is Shatter Proof, Safe around your pool, hot tub, or with young children present. It does NOT shatter into dangerous pieces like the majority of glass-made, blender pitchers when dropped. It is also just as clear as glass and resists stains, dishwasher discoloring, even after hundreds of diswashing cycles. * The Shatterproof Pitcher is graduated into measurements of Liters and Milliliters on one side and the other into Ounces and Cups, which accommodates any and all recipes. * There is a 'Max-Liquid' line on either side of the pitcher, which is at 64 oz. However the pitcher holds at least 72 oz. You can exceed the 64 oz. if you have already shaved the ice and poured the 'other' ingredients in by hand and mixed by hand, and, just use the pitcher to pour your concoction (NO more power blending). * Lid Cap, which twists and locks into place on top of the pitcher lid. You can unscrew this cap and use the included Tamper to aid in blending of large amounts without taking off the pitcher sealed lid. I love using this Nija Chef. It is so simple, and easy to clean, with uncomplicated settings. WooHoo! I have used this Ninja Chef for over two weeks now, and am super-impressed. I have made Smoothies, Asparagus Soup, Broccoli Soup (see attached pics), Spaghetti Sauce, and Chili Bean tomato sauce base. All delicious. The 'fresher' the ingredients using this blender – the better the taste and results, which prompts me to eat MUCH HEALTHIER. Cols weather is on its way so I plan to use this blender lots in making soups, and sauces for tasty and hearty, 'comfort-foods'. Tips and Precautions: * The Ninja Chef Blender is very loud when it runs, especially at higher variable speeds. * When operating in 'Manual' Mode – use the lowest variable speed setting at first – you can adjust this unit 'up or down', accordingly. This is a very powerful blender – don't use too high settings.. * Limited amount of 'attachments' - 24 oz. Double-Walled-To-Go-Tumbler, and 24 oz. Single Serve Cup. There are No other attachments at this time. However, here is hoping that Shark, Ninja Chef makes the Auto-Spiralizer, and Food Processing (chop, mix, and dough making) attachments available at a later date. * This blender unit is approximately 18” tall – it may not fit under your counter / cabinet space if you plan to keep in stored openly. * NOT Microwave compatible. * Unit has a simple, self-cleaning mode. Over the past two weeks I have used this Ninja Chef Blender to make Smoothies, Adult Beverages, Tomato Sauce for Spaghetti, Chili, and Asparagus, Broccoli, and Split Pea Soups. This unit has allowed me to provide much more healthier alternatives to the pre-processed, canned and frozen alternatives. I love the convenience, ease of cleaning, and versatility of this blender / food processor. I highly recommend the purchase of this blender / food processor because it is a 'Must-Have' in any functioning kitchen. This baby would make a great Wedding, Birthday, Anniversary, Christmas, or, Special Occasion gift to that special couple, family member, friend, on your list.

When I was growing up, my parents always tried to make me the perfect milkshake at home. Unfortunately, it always turned out thicker or thinner than the ‘store bought’ shakes. Even though mom and dad made the shakes with ‘real’ ice cream and milk and didn’t serve me processed milkshake mix, I still had it in my head that the shakes from McDonald’s or Arby’s were better. Now that I’m an adult, I’ve still tried to discover the perfect ‘at home’ milkshake. And, what I’ve been realizing over the years is that it’s not necessarily the ingredients that make the shake — it’s the blender. The Ninja Chef high-speed blender is the the answer and the perfect addition to my kitchen. The Ninja Chef blender is part of the SharkNinja family of products. When I got the blender, I didn’t realize that it was a sister product to my Shark Ion Flex cleaning machine, which I love. Even though I had heard great things about the Ninja brand, knowing that I already had experience with the product family instilled even more confidence in me that the blender would not only work well, but that it would also last for a very long time. Set up of the blender is easy. It comes in separate, but already assembled parts. When you open the box, you will find the pitcher, pitcher lid with lid cap, tamper and the base. The Ninja Chef comes packaged with a recipe guide, full instruction manual, and a quick assembly card.. Even though the quick assembly card shows you everything you need to know to get started, it’s still suggested that you read the full manual before getting started. The Ninja Chef has a ‘cleaning’ mode as one of its settings. I think this is brilliant because it gives you a good option to clean the blades without cutting yourself. It is suggested that you clean all the parts in warm, soapy water before your first use. All the attachments are dishwasher safe and you can clean the base with a clean, damp cloth. Assembly is easy. You place the pitcher on the base and lock it in place. Then you add your ingredients into the pitcher. If you have a lot or need to add them gradually, you can remove the lid cap from the lid and lock it into place when you are ready. Once your culinary creation is ready and all your blender parts are locked into place, you can select one of the Auto-IQ programs. This is probably my favorite part of the Ninja Chef. You can always run the Ninja manually, but it has a ‘brain’ telling it the optimal timing for the most-used recipes. For example, the Smoothie setting runs for 50 seconds. It started out with several bursts of power and then runs continuously for a few seconds before finishing with another pulse. The first thing I made with the Ninja Blender was a protein milkshake. I added 8 ounces of milk (measured using the marks on the side of the pitcher), 2 scoops of chocolate protein powder, two scoops of ice cream, and about a cup of ice chips. Then, I set the blender to the Smoothie program. I was able to clean up the ingredients in the time that the blender was running and I didn’t have to worry about it spilling or making a mess of the kitchen because all the parts were locked. The smoothie shake turned out perfectly. With the help of the Ninja Chef, the long-lost homemade milkshake suddenly became attainable. Even though I’ve primarily used a blender for smoothies and other drinks, the Ninja Chef opens up a world of possibilities because I can make things like dips and even cake mixes in this blender. I love the power of the Ninja Chef and can’t wait to see what I can make next.

Ok blender that is lacking in design perfection

I will start this review by saying that my opinion of this blender is the result of a comparison between this Ninja Chef blender and my other more expensive high performance blender. My other blender is the most popular and functional blender on the market, so this should be considered when reading this review. This Ninja Chef blender kind of slightly raises up and down and teeters left to right when it is blending, it is not enough to cause it to fall over or be a hazard or anything like that. In comparison, my other $450 blender is more stable when blending. The legs on this Ninja Chef blender are small suction cups, which does cause this blender to stay in place fairly well, but solid rubber legs would have made this Ninja Chef blender more stable, as it would have been easier to level any leg that was not touching the countertop. One of the things that can be lacking in design perfection on a blender, is the cutting blade, if the blender blade has too much of a pitch, it can cause too much downward suction, and this is mostly a bad thing because it causes excessive air to be sucked into the blended mixture, and it aerates the blended mixture. When the blended mixture is filled with a massive amount of air bubbles, this causes more than normal upward splattering onto the lid, and when this upward splattering occurs, the lid is the most challenging part of the blender to clean. The lid on this blender is sturdy and it stays securely in place when blending, but the lid seems to have been made with too much plastic, and the lid seems a bit difficult to snap onto the blender. The cutting blade on this Ninja Chef blender is of pretty good quality, and aside from having too much downward suction when blending, it is a fairly nice cutting blade. I am not sure as to how long the cutting blade assembly will last, as I cannot tell if it is made with a bearing that the blade turns on, or if it is turning on a bushing. The bushing type of cutting blade assembly will not last nearly as long as a cutting blade assembly made with bearings. Upon my first use of this Ninja blender, I blended my normal batch of food with the same volume as I always blend in my other blender, and this caused this Ninja blender to overheat and caused an error message which flashed the letters ERR on the screen. When this overheating error happens, it is for some reason necessary to unplug the Ninja Chef blender. The error message does not stop flashing unless unplugged, that seems a bit unnecessary to unplug the blender when this happens, it would have been better if the error message went away automatically after like 10 minutes of cooling down. Overall this blender is ok for its selling price, but it is not nearly as perfect as my other blender, this Ninja Chef blender is more of a hassle to blend with. I will stick with my other high performance blender for daily blending tasks. This Ninja Chef blender does have 1 – 10 speeds, but the speed level 1 seems way too fast for setting 1, the speed setting 1 on this Ninja Chef blender seems more like a medium speed. I would not suggest this blender to anyone who could afford a better blender, as its overall design is not that great in comparison to the better blender I am used to, with that being said, for a person who has never used a better designed and more high performance blender, this Ninja Chef blender is likely sufficient. I would gladly pay more for a blender that is easier to use and clean. I am rating this Ninja Chef blender at 2.5 out of 5 stars.

I currently own a Ninja Coffee Bar and it's my most used and versatile appliance in the kitchen. I ordered it from the manufacturer and have also had great customer service with them. My current blender is also a Ninja, but I've had it for over 10 years and have had zero issues with it, other than some age, LOL. It still works great. So, I decided it was time to upgrade and have something nice that can compliment my diet I plan on starting very soon. Now, I can make all sorts of stuff! I'm just going to go all out and say it, while keeping this review short (most of my reviews are very detailed) because this is an item that speaks for itself. THIS. THING. IS...AMAZING! From the box to the blender itself, this thing reeks of quality. It takes a lot to impress me with a kitchen appliance and this definitely did the job. One thing I was not expecting was the suction cups on the bottom. When I took it out of the box and placed it on the countertop, I had to pick up a corner of it and I heard a loud pop...I freaked out and immediately thought I'd broken something. Nope...just a suction cup that I didn't know was there. 8) This thing so far has simply mulched everything I've thrown at it. Ice? No problem. Frozen fruits, berries, it doesn't matter. However, if you do have a problem item, there's always the Tamper that is included. Just take the round part of the lid off the top, stick it down in there and run it down the sides to get anything to the blade that is trying to dodge it. The IQ setting is amazing and as simple as it sounds, the clean setting is also amazing in and of itself. I no longer dread whipping up a milkshake or smoothie in an individual amount. My only complaint that I can even remotely think of is that at the highest setting, it can get a little loud. But if that is the only compromise, I'll take it. One other note - this blender is much bigger than I expected it to be and took up a little more counter space than I anticipated. Once you get the 72 oz. pitcher on it, it's TALL! I did reach out to the Ninja PR department via e-mail regarding a question I had on accessories, but I've never heard anything back and it's been several days. Outside of that, Ninja has really outdone themselves with this product and I will continue to purchase and own their products. If you're in the market for a good blender, don't be afraid to spend a little extra money and get this one. You won't regret it. Buy it. NOW.

The first thing you notice about this blender... it is BIG! I have had normal small blenders with push buttons and heavy glass pitchers with tops that don’t make a proper seal forever... but no more! This blender with its 72oz solid lightweight plastic pitcher is a thing to behold. It is beautiful and it works effortlessly. It has suction cups on the blender bottom to hold it in place and a lid that makes a complete seal. I attached the included pitcher to the blender base (after a thorough hand washing), plugged it in, turned it on and and the available IQ settings for the pitcher appeared. IQ settings are presets with time and power level already set for you! If you have attachments other than a pitcher (such as the single serve cup), when you attach that to the blender base, the available IQ settings for that attachment will appear on the screen. In my case, I only have a pitcher and there are 10 IQ settings for it. Among them are: flour/mill, smoothie, purée, dip/salsa & nut butter. I wanted a smoothie! I tossed in everything I could find on hand for a smoothie - banana, strawberries, raspberries, yoghurt, a splash of milk and some ice. I turned the knob to point to smoothie and :50 appeared on the screen. I pressed start and it started to pulse on and off a few times, then it shifted gears and went to a constant speed until it was done and at that point, it stopped. How was the smoothie? Perfect! It looked too thin but when I poured it out, it was perfectly blended. How easy!! I will be making more smoothies now for sure! This item may need to stay out on the counter for all the use it will get. Now to clean it. There is a button for the “clean” function. Fill to the “clean” line with warm water, add 2 drops of dish soap start her up and it runs through the cycle for you. Let’s be clear on this, it doesn’t thoroughly clean the pitcher. It did remove a lot of the residue on the sides, but there was still smoothie in the lid and all over the pour spout. It rinsed it, which made a gentle hand washing much easier. The blades are sharp, so as always, be careful. The blades are built into the pitcher, which I like. It does say all attachments are dishwasher safe, but I prefer to wash by hand. There are buttons on the blender for: power, clean, IQ, manual, timer and pulse. The IQ setting is the default. With these buttons you can have total control of your blending in any way you want. Using the buttons, the screen will show your options for that setting. Set a timer and the speed; use manual to blend at any speed until you stop; use pulse to blend in bursts or use IQ to have the blender do it all for you. Easy? Yep!! This NinjaChef blender also comes with a very nice little recipe booklet (with a lot of photos) for drinks, dips, desserts, soups and lots more. It also has a tamper for use when things get stuck to the sides of the pitcher. While blending, you can remove the lid cap, insert the tamper and push your ingredients toward the blades. This is an amazingly versatile blender I hope will last for a good long time because there are so many things I want to do with it. This is a confident: HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This blender is a beast! But is also simply a beautiful appliance. If you’re someone who likes to experiment in the kitchen with new and different recipes or someone who might be in need of a more automated experience, this Ninja Chef 72 oz. blender is sure to perform above and beyond what you might expect. I was certainly pleasantly surprised at what this machine can do. Once the blender is plugged in and powered on, you’ll see the digital display. By using the Smart Dial you can easily switch between Auto-iQ pre-set programs (which take the guess work out of it), and Manual Control Mode, which allows you to choose how much power to use with a turn of the variable speed dial. Other modes include: Clean (which enables you to wash the blender pitcher while it’s sitting atop the motor base), Timer+, and Pulse. The included Tamper is used to push ingredients down towards the blades, as needed. Take care when using the tamper while the blender is on. Included with the Quick Assembly and Instruction Guides, is a handy booklet filled with 50 quick & easy recipes. There are suction cups on the bottom of the Motor Base for added stability. The heavy duty cord can be wrapped around a special lip at the back of the motor base for convenient storage, or to shorten the cord so it won’t get in the way. The pitcher, lid, lid cap are made of heavy duty durable plastic and are dishwasher safe. I particularly appreciated how the lid clipped onto the pitcher. This really provided a tight seal. On the blender pitcher itself there are useful cautions and clearly marked guides - pay close attention to the MAX level lines. An available accessory (not included with this model) is a single-serve cup, which would come in handy for people wanting to blend a quick beverage for ‘on-the-go.’ *DO read the Product Warnings and review the Care and Maintenance Instructions. Pay particular attention to the information regarding the blade assembly - they are sharp! Safety features include: If the pitcher is not properly installed on the motor base, a ‘JAR’ message will appear on the display. In the event that the appliance overheats (or you overload the blender), a thermal switch will activate temporarily disabling the motor, and the control panel will not function along with an ‘Err’ message being displayed. There is a procedure to reset the motor thermostat, described in the instruction booklet. This unique safety system prevents damage to the motor. ‘Cons’: Loudness, this blender isn’t quiet. But you wouldn’t expect it to be, what with the amount of power the Ninja Chef’s motor has going for it. Also, this machine isn’t tiny, it will take up a considerable amount of room on your counter or in your cupboard. However, it’s “bulkiness” really does give you a sense that this is a heavy duty piece of hardware - so that’s also a ‘Pro.’ All in all, I’d agree with what the recipe booklet says - this Ninja Chef blender is “Your Culinary Dream Come True.”

This is the first "high end" blender I have ever had and I must say it is totally worth it. Great performance and features. Appearance and construction - the blender has a premium look to it and looks to be quality made. It is lightweight as well, making it much easier to handle than it's size would suggest. The pitcher and blade are 1 piece, making it easier to deal with and less prone to leaking compared to less expensive blenders where the blade separates from the jug and a gasket is needed between the two for form a seal. Operation - When you plug it in and turn it on, a menu appears for you to select the kind of blending you wish to do (soup, ice cream, dips/salsa, etc...). Simply turn the knob to what you need an press start - a timer in the corner indicates how long is left in the blending cycle. This takes all the guesswork out of what to do when you are blending, and it is very easy and intuitive to use. During a cycle, the blender will slow/stop to allow the mixture to settle back down towards the blades, then it will resume - smoothie came out perfect! You can also switch to manual with a press of a button, or use a timer. Blending performance - Great, but this is expected, Ninja has always been known for making great blenders. I love the 72 oz capacity of this blender, it is much larger than the old one it is replacing. Clean up - the clean cycle on this blender may be it's most innovative feature. Fill warm water to the Clean line on the pitcher and add 2 drops of soap. Press clean then start and watch it go. During the 30 second cycle you will see the soapy water shoot all the way to the top of the pitcher cleaning the lid as well as all the pitcher walls and of course the blades. Once it's done, a quick rinse of the pitcher and lid to get rid of the soapy water and you're done. Works perfect and full clean up takes about 2 minutes. Only downside to this blender is that when it is at high speeds, it is very loud - too loud to really hear anything else. But, the pre-programmed cycles are all less than 1.5 minutes, so it is not loud for too long. Overall, despite the noise, I still give this 5 stars, as I am sure the 1500W of power available and the relatively short blending cycles that it uses justifies the loud noise. It is just an over all great blender, incredibly easy to use and easier to clean than any other blender on the market.

Day two of this bad boy and I have to say it is the bomb dot com! Alright so here's the thing, cleaning up blenders in the past has been the thing that keeps me at bay from taking the tool out to create a smoothie, mixed drink or what have you. This Ninja cleans itself! You drop two drops of soap in, fill it up to the line and hit a button. 30 seconds later it's blended itself into almost complete cleanliness. You pour out the gunk and rinse it out! In the passed making anything with sticky chocolate is enough to make me cringe from cleaning up. Well I have made two meal shakes that contain, dates, cacao powder, protein, banana, almond milk and ice. All of which are sticky but I wouldn't know that because it was cleaned fast. I'm the kind of person on the go, so when tasked with trying to figure out how to make something work for me when it should be simple and a breeze was as easy as snapping on the lid after poring in the ingredients. I was in awe. It does everything except pour the ingredients in there itself. The machine is beautiful and sits pretty next to my Ninja Coffee maker and to top it off the preset modes are a cinch. Best of all if you're still reading... I was surprised to see that there are suction cups as feet for the blender so I was nervous it would vibrate off the counter until I laughingly discovered even the aesthetic of staying in place was thought out. Overall a cool design, a beauty for my counter tops and simple to use which everyone wants. The huge container is going to be a hit at my next family gathering when we make some frozen drinks!

This blender does exactly what I hoped it would, and then some. I did a lot of research on high tech expensive fancy blenders. I just could not bring myself to spend 500 dollars on a blender. Maybe if you spend that much money in a year on take out smoothies, soups, etc it is worth it. But for a normal family such as mine I think the 200 dollar price range is plenty for a nice blender. But what I got with this Ninja was much more. I had a normal blender, magic bullet and even nutri bullet. In all of my previous blenders I simply could not get them to blend my ice drinks smoothly. All I wanted was no ice chunks. I could not get it right. So I had a co-worker tell me that they just shelled out big money for a Vitamix blender and that it blended their drinks perfectly with no ice chunks. I was jealous. But I also did not want to spend that much like I stated earlier. Then after a lot of research I found out that this Ninja blender was comparable to those high end blenders but at a fraction of the cost. After trying this blender out once, I am sold! I immediately loaded it up with ice, a scoop of my mocha coffee drink, and milk. I then turned the dial to "ice drink" and hit the start button. It automatically sets a timer and then blends at variable speeds. It beeps when it is done. Then out came the most perfect iced mocha drink that I have ever blended at home. I was in love! I no longer need to go to the golden arches for my beloved mocha frappe, which is why i bought the powder mix to begin with. i just didn't have a blender up to the task. The automatic settings are awesome! You just move the dial then push start, it reminds me of the push to start on my car! There is a manual feature of course but I have yet to use it since the auto settings cover pretty much everything. Cleaning it is super easy as well. You just put some dish soap in it and some warm or hot water and hit the clean button. It then blends at variable speeds and all you have to do is rinse it. Awesome! I cannot say enough about this blender and I guarantee it is as good as those expensive high end blenders. If you search some comparisons online you will see how the power on this Ninja is only slightly less powerful than the expensive competitors but at less than half the price.

This blender can handle over a half gallon of material with its huge 72oz pitcher. It feels like it is designed for commercial use with the suction cup feet holding it to your counter, the locking pitcher base and snap locks for the lid. It has loads of power, but with great power comes great noise. The Auto-iQ feature is pretty neat as it pulses at various speeds to give the texture of the product selected. I have made several iced beverages using the iQ setting for it and as long as I used the included tamper for the full minute, the drink came out perfect. Without using the tamper, there were large chunks of ice remaining, even after running the program multiple times. Cleanup is a snap, simply adding hot water to the mark on the picture, a couple drops of dish washing liquid and a push of the clean button. I usually ran it a few times, just to be sure, but it has come out clean every time. It has the capability to use the Double-walled to-go tumbler (24 oz.), and supposed to recognize the difference between that and the picture, but it is sold separately and I did not get to try it out. If you have the need to make large quantities of blended products with ease, but don’t mind a bit of excessive noise, then this is certainly a great option.

    Blender with Function Over Form

This blender works much better than any other blenders I have used. Hence, the functionality of the blender is fantastic. On the other hand, what makes the blender work so great also has associated negatives - mainly the large size and the noise. Here are the pros and cons as I see them. The best thing about this blender is just how well it works. I have used it to make shakes and smoothies and have already learned that it mixes better than most blenders. For example, I made a smoothie with mostly fruit (very little liquid). Other blenders would require much more liquid in order to get the ingredients swirling and finely blended. This blender, because the base is so wide, can move the ingredients around without much liquid. In fact, the smoothie ended up almost like a sorbet, and had no chunks in it. This is important because my youngest son will not eat chunky smoothies. Another example is how we used the blender to make a shake. The first shake we added a lot of milk and it was kind of runny. The second time, I literally just added ice cream and cookies and the blender was able to blend it together in very little time without having to add any milk. Pretty impressive. Another nice thing about the blender is how large the pitcher is. It can hold and process a lot at once, which is great for making soups or processing vegetables from the garden. On the negative side, the only things I would say that I don't like about this blender are its size and the amount of noise it makes. First, the size of the blender is pretty large. That means it takes up a lot of storage and is too big to be left on our counter when not using. With that said, the reason it is large is because it is very stable (suctions to counter), has a powerful motor, and because it can hold a large amount of ingredients. The second negative is the sound. While using the blender, my wife and kids started using hearing protection. My wife mentioned that it sounded like a jet engine. While I agree that it is louder than other blenders I used, I wouldn't say that it is that much louder. Plus, I assume some of the noise is generated because it has a more powerful motor. Overall, the blender works great despite the size of the base and noise. If you are also looking for function over form, then I would highly recommend this blender.

I was really excited to get this blender because I love making smoothies every morning. I recently was thinking of creating my own home smoothie bar and I now have the perfect blender for my station! When I say this is by far the most solid blender I've ever come across for home use I mean it. There may be bigger and better models, but for the price this thing is hands down the best I've ever owned. It replaced a kitchen aid blender if that tells you anything. The blender container itself is super solid, and easy to clean. There's a nice lock down latch or a hole in the middle to prod at food that is stuck. The blender portion locks into the base and honestly is one of my favorite parts of the blending process. Locking it down just FEELS good. The blender itself has a bunch of different "IQ" settings for different items. I personally haven't tried all that they have to offer, I only have used the smoothie setting so far. The smoothie setting does a great job, but it blends it for over 30 seconds, which imo is overkill. It does a great job breaking up the ice in the beginning but about halfway through the process could be considered completed. With that in mind I either just shut it off early or switch to manual blend. There is a cleaning function as well that works really well to clean the inside of the blender. The display itself is very slick and easy to use. The only thing I did notice is the blender tends to give off a burnt smell when blending for a while. I'm not sure if that's because it's new and breaking in or if it'll always smell like that, but it is something i noticed. To be honest though it didn't bother me enough to rate this blender any lower. The smoothies come out delicious every time and that's all I care about. All in all I am very pleased with this blender and would recommend it to anyone looking for a very solid blender that almost feels like a borderline professional smoothie machine. This thing is a BEAST and I look forward to many more great smoothies!

As I have decided to start eating healthier, okay I'm stopping fast food but hey its a start, I though I would begin to start by making my own smoothies. Considering my old blender that I had had since, well a long time, it was best to look to the future. Enter the Ninja Chef CT800. Not only does it solve the smoothie problem it is also preprogrammed for full on frozen drinks (including those ones you might enjoy on the beach) soup, ice cream, yes ice cream!!, salsa and dressings to mention a few. It has a lot of features and comes with a recipe book to get you started. A few things about this, it is what I would consider commercial grade. This is a solid piece of equipment without any exaggeration. Once it was unboxed I placed it on the counter to move things out of my way. Went to pick it up and it was if I were superman and it was kryptonite. Little did I know that it has suction cups that hold it in place! whew! Thought I had lost my super powers for a second. A gentle tilt and the cups released. One of the "cool factors" with this is the animated display when you turn the device on. With that, the display is easy to read in various lighting settings. Although it has many preprogrammed settings you still can switch over to manual and go from there. The dial easily adjusts your speed and has a visual indicator. So I've tried a couple recipes (salsa and broccoli cheese soup) and they are pretty good. I'll need to put a little more kick in the salsa :). Other features that are very handy include a countdown timer that will shut the blender off automatically and the best in my opinion is the cleaning feature!! Fill with water up the the clean line, add a few drops of detergent, put the lid on and press the clean button. When it's done it shuts off, rinse the container and let dry. Done! I have to say this is a pretty slick and cool blender even though it is much more than a blender.

A blender is not a typical tool we use at our house, until now. We had a different brand blender that this one replaced as it gave up the ghost, and there is simply no comparison. The Ninja is like driving a Geo Metro one day and a BMW the next day. It’s is insane how powerful this thing is. My wife is a serious cook and she makes things from scratch. So for instance, thick sauces and soups. The seriously thick stuff would slow down the old blender big time. The Ninja handles it like it’s water thin. The 72 oz capacity is much larger than our old blender, which we were not sure we liked at first. It’s so tall and large, it almost doesn’t fit under our counter top. It’s big for sure and on the border of being too big for standard family use. But on the order hand, it can handle a lot. Specifically it allows you to make or blend a lot or basically make multiple servings. No need to blend a few tomatoes and then blend a few more. This will handle everything in one session. I am not a blender expert or even a cook. My wife is the guru on that and I just receive the benefits of her talent. But I’m my observation of this product I feel it is superior in quality to the others we weighed it against. It locks down tight and seals well. It just feels more solid and seems to be made well. It is well suited for a serious cook or even a health/fitness guru that uses a blender a lot. They do make smaller models, so look at all of them before you decide as this one is quite large. But it is amazing and we really like it. I definitely recommend it.

If you're into having nice things in the kitchen, this blender is for you. I've been really impressed with it so far and honestly can think of only one con, which is it's size. It's powered by what I assume must be a twin turbo v6. All jokes aside, it is a pretty good sized appliance (as seen in the photo, comparing it to the ancient relic it's replacing), but that's ok because the performance is commensurate with the size. It has handled everything my wife and I have thrown at it with ease and speed. The different settings are great for creating the textures they're supposed to and can be relied on to make the dish correctly. The self-clean cycle is really handy and easy to use and definitely beats disassembling it to put in the dishwasher. Because it's self cleaning, the blades are built into the big pitcher, and because of that, there's no chance of leaks, which is nice. The pitcher locks very firmly to the base with a satisfying click. Despite it being a touch loud, it doesn't feel any louder than any other blender I've used. It has suction cups to hold it in place and is sturdy when running at full speed. It definitely feels very well made. This should be the last blender I ever need.

    Ninja Chef with Auto-IQ

The ninja chef is a 1500 Watt high speed blender that had enough power to liquify any ingredients into restaurant style purees. The blades have a cyclonic action and nothing escapes them and all the ingredients move to the center of the blender. The ninja chef has variable speed control and works perfectly whether you are making a salsa or a smoothie drink. It is auto-iq enabled with 10 preset programs namely ice cream, soup, nut butter, flour, extract, dressing, puree, frozen drink, smoothie and salsa. This really helps to take the guesswork out of the prep and the results are quite as expected. One of the best feature is move from auto to manual mode and you can precisely control the speed form 1 thru 10 to get the perfect texture needed for your dish. We are very pleased with the footprint as well in the kitchen since it takes a lot less space than other blenders. Also we love the auto timer so you can move away from it to do other things. It is a bit loud when crushing ice but that is expected from such a powerful blender. The only downside is that it does not have a spout to pour drinks but isnt a big issue for us. All in all an excellent blender for the chef in the house.

It’s been years since I was an avid user of blenders but with a need to start eating healthier, I gave this a shot. It’s incredible. The 1500W is very powerful. I’ve blended everything from energy drinks and smoothies with rock-hard frozen fruit to milkshakes to salsa. It never skipped a beat. With the pre-programmed settings, it was made easy. My first batch of salsa was made on manual because I was nervous about it coming out too “liquidy” after making several smoothies, but after my second batch with the pre-programmed setting, I realized those concerns were unwarranted. The small recipe book included has recipes to make a variety of items, though many of them had ingredients I don’t normally stock. I pulled out my old blender recipe book and have rekindled my fondness for smoothies and blending of all things. The suction cup feet keep this high-powered blender stable and securely attached to the counter top at even full speed. I like the way the 72oz. Container drops down and then twists into place to lock. I am confident when I turn it on, I can just let go and wait for it to finish. Cleanup is a breeze as well with a self-cleaning option. If you don’t feel comfortable with it for whatever reason, it’s also dishwasher safe (container and lid… not the base)! My only grip is the loudness. I will not be making anything with anyone sleeping in the house! It’s not outrageously loud as blenders go, but it is louder than my old Sunbeam blender. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone that enjoys making things from scratch at home. It has a many pre-programmed settings, lots of power, and very stable on any hard surface.

We currently own a Vitamix blender but recently wanted to try the new Ninja Chef blender. It usually isn’t fair to compare products from different pricing categories since the more expensive product usually wins due to craftmanship and quality output. For reference, our Vitamix currently sells for more than twice the price of the Ninja Chef. However, we put the Ninja Chef through the works by blending some fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables into a smoothie. There are multiple selections on the dial to choose from for automating the right rhythm and blending power. We did have to run the ‘smoothie’ option twice to get the texture the way we like. This may be due to using frozen items but the Vitamix is able to handle it in one run. However, I may have packed it with too much when using the automated option and should just manually set it to double the blending time. As mentioned, it’s hard to compare the two products. Although, if I never owned a Vitamix and was only aware of the Ninja Chef, it would be a great addition to the kitchen for its powerful blending abilities. It does just about everything the more expensive blenders do and its half the cost which is great for anyone on a budget. It actually could give them run for the money.

This is a big, powerful blender. It would be at home in a professional kitchen or a forensic lab. It will reduce anything to submicroscopic size if that’s what you want. We’ve had blenders before, but this one out-powers them all. It has dedicated smoothie, puree, dressing, frozen drink, flour/mill, salsa, soup, nut butter, extract and ice cream settings along with a timer that works with the programs or separately. Watching the blender go through a choreographed dance as it follows a programmed script is fun. The cupped rubber feet actually “stick” to our granite counter, so you’re in no danger of the blender walking off as it operates. It’s also loud enough, you won’t forget it’s on. You might want to wait until a hangover has cleared, if your making a morning smoothie. It comes with a useful recipe booklet and a 72 oz. pitcher. This combination of pitcher and substantial motor/base results in a tall presentation. Accessories are available. The Ninja Chef is getting a workout in our kitchen and we like it a lot.

This Ninja Chef blender does it all. In fact, calling it a "blender" doesn't do it justice. First, the 72oz capacity allows you to make enough servings for a family of 4 in just one batch. We are big fans of smoothies and tested the blender out with a mixture of frozen fruit, tofu, a banana, a few veggies, ice, and juice. The results were fantastic. In our old blender, I was always running out of space trying to cram in the last few ingredients. And after doing so, sometimes the contents would not all get sucked to the bottom. That did not occur with this unit. Now, the trade-off for having such great capacity is that you will need a lot of counter space. This thing is LARGE. Of course you can pack it away in a pantry or cabinet when not in use, but it has suction cups on the bottom that hold it in place, making it a hassle to move. The versatility of this blender is amazing. We look forward to trying out it's many features including a self cleaning function, and did I mention it can make ice cream? Can't wait to see how that turns out!
