This is the phone you should get to move away from social media. The built in Opera browser can give you access to messenger, which is honestly all I need for instant messaging,

If you just need a simple phone without the need for all of the bells and whistles, this works. It uses old-style texting, I have not gotten the internet to work yet, and the screen is not a touch screen as indicated in the specs, but calling works and the blue tooth works. I got it as a backup because of how frequently I manage to break my smartphones, but as soon as I can manage to get another smart phone this will go into the drawer until the next time I break my phone.

This is a decent quality phone for someone looking to make calls and send basic texts.
I have been a dedicated flip phone user my whole life, but, given the cancellation of 1G-3G networks, had to upgrade my 1G flip phone to something 4G. Interestingly, I learned that, while this phone texts over 4G/LTE networks, it still makes calls on 3G. You can change this by going into settings and turning on VoLTE (Voice over LTE), which will change the calling network to LTE. This may be critical when all the 3G networks are shut down (in Feb. 2022?) but currently has not made a big difference for me.
Be aware that this phone only works with networks that use SIM cards (i.e. not Verizon). I switched to Cricket when I got this phone, and it's been working fine.
Pros:
- Good sound quality (even speaker phone is okay)
- Head phone jack is nice and works well
- Good screen size and visibility
- Texts are shown as a messaging dialogue rather than individual messages (which is what my very old phone did)
- Camera is okay? Better than my last phone, but that's not saying much
Cons:
- The whole unit is fairly lightweight. Some people may love this; I feel that it indicates cheaper, less sturdy quality. I haven't had it long enough to assess durability
- Number pad is a little small, but manageable
- It does not have a simple way of capitalizing a word in the middle of a sentence (or at the beginning of a new one) while using the predictive text. Obviously, this can be dealt with, but it's annoying.
- The apps it comes with are not deletable.
- My biggest complaint is that there are many features that are difficult to find, not intuitive, and not in the instruction guide. Examples:
- Voicemail. You have to press and hold "1" while on the home screen.
- Turn on T9/predictive text. Go to "Settings," click the left button for more settings, then scroll down to "Predictive Text."
- Volume. Same process as predictive text. But if you want to turn it to vibrate, "Settings" > "Personalization" > "Sounds."
- Search among contacts (rather than just scrolling down). Press the # key when you're in your contacts.
- When you turn on "VoLTE," it changes the timestamp on all of your incoming texts (for me it was three hours ahead of Eastern time, but this might change based on time zone?). This is frustrating because all your outgoing texts are timestamped with your correct time. So your message dialogue is organized with all of the incoming texts before the outgoing. Very awkward. I haven't found a workaround other than turning off VoLTE until I need it.
Overall, I like the phone. It's basic and easy and functional. I haven't used many of the other features (radio, music, internet connectivity, apps) and probably won't, so I cannot attest to their quality or ease of use. The snake game is an entertaining throw-back to the 90s Microsoft game, but it's just annoying enough to try to play on the phone that I won't get too distracted by it. So, yay?
One more note. Best Buy charges a $45 restocking fee on phones once the box is opened. But they also provide the IMEI number (your phone's identity ID) on the order slip (at least when I ordered for in-store pickup). They call it the "HW ID." Most phone service providers have a way to enter the IMEI in their site to see if the phone will be compatible. So you can do that without opening the box, saving you a $45 fee if your provider tells you they won't accept the phone.

Be aware that if you buy this phone and try to return it best buy will charge you $45 to return it. They mine as well say no returns. Online site said restocking fee of up to $45. They should get rid of the term up to. Phone was not strong enough to reach the tower even with 4 bars. Would not recommend this phone or best buy. They lost my business for life.

Ordered this phone for a senior friend to replace a similar (but even smaller!) Nokia phone from 2012. Phone arrived quickly and was easy to set up. Had to trim her existing sim card down to nano size,
She is happy with the phone. Simple to use and definitely small enough to pocket easily.
Quality seems pretty good. Definitely not state of the art, but that makes it just right for the right kind of person.

After a few exhausting hours browsing the internet, I've finally found my dumb phone.
Sure there are a few crappy games and a Facebook app you can't uninstall, but other than that, this is the perfect downgrade if you're looking for something more simple.
Other phones I've ordered and returned did not have as good cell reception like this one, and it comes with Bluetooth pairing as well. Also a great battery! I'm getting used to not having to charge it every day.
Feels like a step backward in the best way.

A Nice Little Getaway

Recently, I wanted to go back to a basic phone so I could get a life. Lack of boundaries around a smart phone can be quite the challenge. So I stumbled across this little cutie.
My criteria: relive my early 2000’s glory days, be able to just place calls, text, and have the “snake” game app. I got three out of four of them. For some reason, iPhone messages on this were hit or miss. I’m no tech person though, so idk what was going on there. But let’s blame Apple.
For 17 days, I enjoyed some freedom. A little too much freedom. On the seventeenth day, I accidentally got day drunk and blacked out at brunch. When I woke up, my phone wouldn’t turn on. Externally, it looked fine. Then I cracked that baby open and it was full of vom. I’ll spare you the detail. RIP brick.
We had a beautiful 3 weeks together. I’ll be getting another one. If you need a tech break too, I suggest you dish out the $55 and treat yo self. It’s fun to challenge yourself from just how reliant we are on our smart phone.

This phone is great for my grandparents, nice ans simple. My grandparents are not big fans of smartphones so having a phone like this is better for them and makes calling more easier. Minus one star because the plastic is not that strong, other than that its a great and can make good calls.

It's and unlocked nokia, I was never able to get the sim cards that I had to work in it. Wound up getting a samsung a14. However for $50 I can see this as a great phone for traveling or for kids, something that you won't be mad about losing.

This phone will only work on the T-Mobile network. I also was originally having difficulty with it not dialing and dropping calls. I had to do some research and for some reason, this model of phone had an update and most everyone that had this model of phone was having the same problems. Some people fixed the problem by turning on the VOlte. I did a factory reset on the phone and then turned on the VOlte and I haven't had any problems since. Back to the phone. It is incredibly light which I love. It's small, it is just a basic phone and if all you to do with it is talk and text it does a great job, but again only if you are utilizing the T-Mobile network. I know it says unlocked, but that is not completely true.

I recently lost my cell phone. I'm a senior citizen, and only want calling and texting. I have everything on my tmobile plan, but never go online for anything. I don't want to pay hundreds of dollars for something I don't use. It was inexpensive, and only 50 bucks, and I had some rewards so even cheaper. I love it, so much easier to use than my last phone. It is the perfect phone for me, and for those who don;t need all the extras like the young people. It's good quality, and you can't beat the price. I recommend it highly.

This is a really good cell phone, but I can only give it 4 stars because it isn't perfect. There are a few flaws that make it more difficult to use. Overall, I'm pleased with it.
