This is the 6th Nvidia Shield I have purchased.This is the most powerful streaming device on the market. Great for casting from your mobile device. Highly recommended for TV apps such as Hulu, Youtube and more

I have used all the streaming boxes at least the most popular ones so far like Amazon fire TV, Apple TV, Roku and many of the different android TV boxes. The Nvidia shield is the best. There are no issues loading SPMC. The Nvidia shield supports Bluetooth keyboards and mice so you get a mouse interface with almost every application. I personally use a track ball. So convenient. If you buy the pro, especially the pro, my favorite, I have both, the pro allows you to have IR control meaning the Nvidia Shield remote will also control the volume of your receiver if you're running your home theater through a receiver or it will control the audio on your TV. The applications for the Nvidia Shield are plentiful, its running Android TV the most current BTW. I'm only using a handful of the major cable programs like Netflix, Stars, HBO, SPMC which is a fork of Kodi. What is most important to me is the ability to load from Plex using SPMC all of my DOLBY ATMOS DEMOS and because SPMC outputs bitstream I can listen to true Dolby ATMOS. THERE IS NO OTHER STREAMING BOX KNOWN TO ME THAT WILL OUTPUT BITSTREAM ATMOS CODE. The only other way besides this streaming box to get DOLBY ATMOS is to use a blu-ray encoded with DOLBY ATMOS and of course that plays just fine. I am sure there are other streaming boxes that Run android TV so you can intern run SPMC. I suppose these my DECODE DOLBY ATMOS. Then there is the processor that Nvidia Shield runs, the most powerful streaming box there is. All the interfaces run so fast, there is no lag for loading a app or video, its almost instant. My 2 cents. the Nvidia Shield is not cheap but if you play games and want the most powerful streamer out there, this is it. Can't wait to see what the upgrade will be like. Ted

We bought this to supplement connectivity issues withour smart tv. Its reliable, easy to use and gives you alot of capabilities (streaming, gaming).

I love how fast this is,much better than the firetv,I also love the amount of space on this and all the extra's it comes with.Found lots of free games and tv. I however,did not sign up for the free 30 days Sling that comes with it,after reading on people canceling and still having the money being charged to their cards I figured its not worth the hassle. Love the Nvidia shield pro though,Hope it lasts up well

Yes !!! Boys and Girls, this is the TOP of the Notch Android TV System. and Yes it is the Newest one !! I was able to set it up before my guests arrived for the Thanksgiving Dinner and let me tell you, they loved it. When I say the loved I mean they were amazed by Nvidia Shield Pro. Graphics look Superb and if not way better than Nintendo. Free Games Free Goodies came with this System. I immediately subscribed to the GEForce Now and got Streaming Games to work instantly. Wow talk about apps.. Music, Movies, and more..

The Nvidia Shield TV is simply the best streamer I have ever had. I've owned several Apple TV and Android TV devices. Hands down this is worth every penny. It's light years beyond anything else out there. Fast, reliable, great software, great games and incredible support from Nvidia. I've combined it Sony Vue and TabloTV to cut the cord. 4K Netflix and YouTube too. I've hooked it to my PC for streaming games in house and there are wonderful native games through Nvidia store for this. Seriously.. just stop looking and buy this. It's fantastic!

Interface is clean and fast. SOOOOOO much better than my Sony x930e. The TV was slow and loaded with crap apps. It also had issues streaming local 4k content. Picked up the Shield Pro and it does everything I need it to do. Snappy interface. Load only the apps you want to see. Plex streams local content like butter! Not a huge gamer, but it's nice to have the ability to play games. If you are on the fence about a streamer box, look no further.

First streaming device owned was a Roku, and that has served me well. After reading a bit about the Nvidia Shield, and seeing how it continues to hold up from performance perspective over the years (even without any real hardware upgrade/changes), I decided to give it a try and haven't looked back. There's no shying away that this is a steeply priced product and not necessarily for everyone, but if it fits your budget then don't hesitate to pull the trigger.

This has been the best purchase I have ever made at my Best Buy. It has 500GB of storage, you think you won't need it but you will see yourself taking advantage of everything you can get out of this machine. It has chromecast pre-installed. It has the many apps, including the most essential apps, on the Google Play Store. It has a microphone and headphones on the remote and Game Controller, so it's basically already a Roku and Chromecast combined. PLUS, you can download Kodi, which basically means, it is an Amazon Firestick combined too. This is the most essential streaming device to have in a home. Trust Me. I Love Electronics.

This is Hands down best android player on the market and it is only getting better. Do not buy any other android waterdown version except for the shield. It is built nice and looks cool. Comes with an amazing joystick which is wifi pretty awesome. This sits behind my tv and the controller works perfectly. I could have settled for the lighter version but I really wanted the joystick and Harddrive space.

I wish all Android TV products were this good. This little box never seizes to impress me, has gotten better with each update

The Nvidia Shield TV is still the best Android TV box by a large margin. Nothing else comes close to the processing power or support by Nvidia. I bought mine to use as an always on Plex server along with all my streaming needs. It has worked flawlessly so far. The new included controller is great and games play and look great.

The streaming video is really nice. Games I only played one free one so far and seem to work just as good

The Nvidia Shield comes with tons of apps preinstalled including Netflix, Amazon, HBO, Sling, and Hulu (all pay services). Additionally, you can download just about any app from the Google Play store. The Shield is faster than other TV boxes and uses hardware acceleration to render the screen. The video playback is flawless with rarely any pixilation. It comes with a wired connection, and also a fast wireless connection. You can connect an approved wireless keyboard (not included) as in the Logitech K400 Plus to allow complete access to the web using Google Chrome. There is a good selection of games available that are really fun, however; none of them are truly video intensive. There are quite a few games designed specifically for the Shield. At least from what I have played so far, the Shield plays all of the games available on GeForce Now.

Been now a few months and ready to give my review. First I would recommend buying the pro version for the micro SD slot and the extra 500gb HD space. The extra cost is will worth it. Pros: Small and sleek Runs Android 7.0 Comes with game controller and simple remote (pro version) 500gb HD and Micro SD slot Two 3.0 USB ports Simple interface. Cons: Can't turn on consol with remote or game controller if fully off. Only way to turn on the consol is if you physically tap the touch sensor.

The kids love this for gaming and movies. Great graphics and sound options

Purchased the NVIDIA Shield to do away with the firestick and glad I did. This has more that you can do as far as gaming and streaming and storage space than the firestick does. I highly recommend this product.
