As a previous Roku owner I was looking for a streaming device with a more comprehensive feature set, more powerful processing chip and 4K graphics. The Nvidia Shield is a definite upgrade from a Roku. I have no issues with my Roku experience but when searching for a 4K upgrade device, I chose the Shield over Roku's 4 K offerings. A visually pleasing interface and the ability to play almost every media file format makes the Shield fun to use. The ability to stream local movie files with HD audio using Plex was my main decision maker. No freezes, Netflix 4K and Amazon 4K apps work very well. A little more expensive then some of the other streamers on the market, but you get what you pay for!

I had the Nexus Player before this and I can say it runs a lot better. The remote and controller are a lot better than I thought they would be and I would recommend this buy

Best streaming box I've used.Pricey. Runs as fast as your internet can handle. Super smooth video, strong wifi, no wonder the internet's abuzz about it. I've bought other boxes & there's no comparison.Period.

This is my first Nvidia Shield TV! After researching them for some time I finally decided to purchase one. If you are looking to upgrade- don't! Nothing has changed from the previous models- except the foot print. My primary reason to purchase the Nvidia Shield TV was so I could add Kodi as I was growing tire of the Amazon Fire stick. Since my purchase I have found a few games that my daughter and I love play as well... All in all, great device with no problems. Those looking to upgrade from the fire stick this is a step in the right direction... Maybe not the 500gb but the 16gb should do it.

Price worth the best industry reviews. It has Chromecast built in to cast video/audio directly from your computer, tablet or phone. Nvidia has done a great job with little to no support necessary.

I use this to Stream my computer and play games on the go also I use the android to E it's just like an android tablet only better definitely a good buy

Smooth, quick and endless things can be used on the Nvidia Shield. From cord cutting to gaming. It's the box to have. Never have had a issue. A+++

I first I thought it was too much money for this media player. When I got home and set up the new machine was a message from the get go. Have so many amazing features that I haven’t used them all yet. I highly recommend this media lover!

Many TVs have built-in apps but the built-in processing power of these TVs is minimal at best. The Nvidia Shield is a substantial upgrade to any TV especially when streaming 4K content. The capabilities of the Nvidia shield have also allowed me to get rid of my traditional cable box without having to sacrifice video quality. The extra storage space the Nvidia Shield Pro offers is also worth the extra cost. Highly recommend. The initial investment will pay for itself in no time.

Must havr in every home spend the extra money for the additional storage i use it for everything

Wow, really awesome device, it has pretty much everything, awesome remote with headphone jack and volume control, google home functionality coming soon, google search in the meantime. fast processor, it goes on and on... only thing weird is that droid apps don't work, so i guess it's still early for "droid TV" app development, because there are a lot of apps like network tv channels for example, that are available for droid, but not droid TV so i can't download to this nvidia shield. but i'm sure in time that will change.

I bought the device for streaming, it's pretty good, but not as great as I thought it would be, for the price.

If you love to stream and play games whatever this is the system to get. You can't go wrong with the PRO

My biggest gripes with Nvidia shield‘s is there remotes are very good there’s always buggy. I’ve got six of these boxes so I know what I’m talking about. Doesn’t matter how many updates they push it still the same
