Whenever I purchased this unit I was happy to get it installed right away. The controls are fairly easy and the setup was pain free (it even has a auto tunning mic for setting your speakers to the right configuration)

This receiver is packed of so many advanced features more than you require. 8 HDMI in and 2 HDMI out , 4K and 3D pass through , 1260W means 180W per channel - too powerful n loud for the house and that’s without any sound distortion at the max volume . Fantastic Features are - 1. THX certified means sound exactly like u enjoy in cinema 2. 4K upscale means you can get high quality video upto 4K resolution even from a Lower quality video. It has adjustable 3 presets equalizer setting which works fantastic. This receiver gives Fantastic and distortion free sound at very low or very high volume. This is a really power packed receiver with so many feature at a very affordable price. I’m greatly satisfied and definitely would recommend to others to buy a this receiver. My advise is to all Friends looking for a AV receiver- never buy a receiver which isn’t THX certified and don’t upscale video upto 4K.

This a strong receiver for the money. It’s clear and load with my new polls i bought. This was to replace a old onkyo I bought 17 years ago because I thought it went bad. But I learnt afterwards that it was still good I just had a speaker wire that was shorting. I expect I will get the same mileage out of tgis one too. I love the Bluetooth feature too.

Just recently I picked up a Denon AVR-X2300 to replace my AVR-X1200 I had been using. Before that was a Yamaha with two HDMI outs, which worked great for my projector. But then I got the new Xbox One S and needed something that did HDCP 2.2, and the Yamaha, while capable of regular 4k resolution, couldn't support that. So the Denon 1200 was what I ended up with, got a new unit for free, so was willing to put up with the single HDMI out and having to mess around to watch the projector. But that willingness was short lived, and I replaced the 1200 with a Denon 2300, and had to return it. Total failure in so many ways, HDMI inputs that wouldn't work, speaker setup that kept suddenly skewing balance to the right for no apparent reason, and random hiccups on the HDMI out that would reset my projector multiple times while watching movies. I returned it, and Best Buy had this in stock, and even on sale, so I thought I'd give it a try as it met my requirements - 8 HDMI inputs, 4k HDR ready, and the two HDMI outputs. Setup was simple, everything hooked up just fine, and the HDMI ports on this actually are tighter than the ones on the Denon, so things feel more secure back there. I ran through its speaker setup with the microphone, and started testing inputs. All 8 worked. I liked that, as I was used to with the Denons, it allowed me to rename the inputs to show the actual name of the devices plugged in, rather than the default names. I also appreciated the fact that it was natively able to be set up in my Harmony remote via model number. I also find I prefer this green LED, seems easier on the eyes in the dark. Sound so far is great - movies, video games, even using my headphones, all works and sounds good. I've had no issues with any HDMI hiccups so far like I did with the Denon either. The speaker outputs can be twisted as usual, but also support the banana clips I use for my speaker wires. The dimensions are about the same as my Denon it replaced, so I didn't have to do anything special to make it fit. Time will tell about the automatic setup for the speakers with the microphone. This one isn't nearly as extensive as the Denon, which requires you to move the microphone to 8 different locations, but all within like 1.5 feet of the starting point, so I never really got "why" they needed that many inputs - in that small area there's only room for two people to sit anyway. This microphone setup was just from the one position, and ran longer than I had figured it would, since I knew it wasn't going to jump from spot to spot around my recliner couch. The results seem to work well. Airplay from Itunes on my Windows computer connects fine and plays without any issues. All told, having saved three hundred dollars for something that so far works better than my Denon did, I'm very pleased with how things worked out, even if it was a bit of a pain to swap out yet again another receiver.

If you have a 4k TV and are interested in dolby atoms or DTS-X, this Amp does both perfectly. Setup is easy the amp calibrates the room for you and my 4K tv never looked better. It has all the features of the $1000 plus ones for way less, and most importantly it sounds great right after calibration. I bought this Amp because my 2 year old pioneer amp did not have the new 2.2 hardware for 4K and I'm glad i did because its way better in every way!

OK, it's an Onkyo. Awesomeness is expected. Plenty of horsepower (wattage) to push 7.1 Polk bookshelf surround and rear, tower front, and center speakers and the sub. Easy setup and an improved user friendly remote control. DTS-X and Dolby Atmos decoding is outstanding. The receiver is THX certified and the THX Cinema and THX Select 2 settings are still available. A new setting, Neural X - THX Cinema, provides a truley spacious sound in the listening area. 4K video up inversion is very nice too. Loving this receiver.

I love the simplicity this product brings to the table. Hook up is as simple as running hdmi cables from ps4 and cable box to the receiver and then 1 hdmi cable from the receiver to tv. Very streamlined remote control, very easy to use and hold. Plenty of power to push your speakers. Allows bi-amping compatible front tower speakers for extra power if you only plan on having a 5.1 setup. The LCD display could be more colourful but that issue is small potatoes.

I've had onkyo receivers for years and it was time to upgrade to 4k pass thru.. This new receiver was very easy to setup but, I do miss the functionality of the old remote where you could program other devices to it. Sound is very good especially at lower settings and receiver has plenty of power and clarity is great.

I purchased this after my last Onkyo died on me, so I was a little skeptical about buying another Onkyo. This receiver is awesome, it connects to your wireless router, has tons of HDMI inputs, and sounds amazing through my Definitive Technology speakers. Setup was also a breeze. Great for the price!!

I have been a home theater fan for over 30 years. The last components I had in use were an Integra processor and a separate Rotel 5 channel power amp. The processor was knocked out by a lightning strike prompting me to look for a replacement. Since I was impressed with the Integra purchased 10 years ago, Onkyo products were a natural replacement option. I had a budget in mind and began reviewing items online. After seeing the Onkyo, I wanted to see one in person. When I got to my local store, I was delighted to see that it's price had been reduced. The Best Buy associate showed me some alternatives in the Magnolia lines that were priced similarly, but the specs were comparable. The real value was evident once I set it up at home. Fantastic performance! Once the speakers are calibrated (I have a 5.1 system), it proved to be awesome. Great sound, intuitive simple controls and all in one box make this perfect for what I needed. I heartily recommend this unit.

Owned an Onkyo SR706 for a few years and loved it. Excellent sound quality, though it did suffer from the dreaded HDMI handshake issues. Eventually it got beyond repair so I opted for the 757. Here's the pro's vs con's: Pros: Easy set up, remote is much more simplified than the older remotes. Receiver menu is a huge improvement over the 706. Definitely has the power to drive your set up and it has Bi-amping, which is a must for me. Cons: The audio is good if you leave it on the default settings or adjust manually, yourself. The audio calibration software is no longer done by Audyssey, Onkyo has their own in house software and frankly, it's pretty bad. I had to shut off the calibration and go on the standard setup for better sound. Music was fine, Movies, didn't have the same punch as my 706. I ended up exchanging it for a Marantz SR5011, which I am very happy with.

I purchased this receiver based on a recommendation from a friend. I'm glad I took his advice! It has plenty of inputs for all of your devices, and tons of outputs for your speaker setup. This receiver even allows you to bi-amp your front speakers to give them even more life and clarity.

This receiver can be set up for your listening area in a few minutes using the furnished microphone and equalizing routine, and can be further adjusted using the built-in equalizer and/or tone controls. As with all Onkyo products the sound is excellent, with plenty of power to spare. The manual is well-organized, and the downloaded PDF version has both the Basic and Advanced manuals combined in a single file. Reading both is recommended if you want to get the most out of this versatile device.

I bought this to replace a receiver that was just beginning to have a few issues. I am not a technical person and found that hooking this one up was pretty simple and the instructions provided are pretty straight forward. It has a great sound , I have hooked up a PC for streaming , a CD player , tape deck ( yep ) and a turntable along with 6 speakers and this handles it all very well . Next the TV , it has space for everything but basically bought it for the music components

I got this as an open box item at my local Best But for a steal, but its worth every penny of the full price. It replaced my old HTIB setup and is a significant upgrade. Its got great power. I currently only use the 5.1 setup but its nice to have the option to move to 7.1 and 4k. The bluetooth is a great option for playing music from my smart phone. I did have to buy a new Subwoofer, but that is more of a function of the old one being part of the HTIB setup
