So far, I have had no issues with the TX-RZ3100, it sounds fantastic. The set up was easy and the EQ calibration worked better than expected. This system replaced a Sony 777es (Best 5.1 receiver ever built) that was 21 years old and still running strong!!! Currently have a 7.1 set up now (I will write another review when I set up the Atmos Speakers) and it blows my 777es away. I priced matched this receiver when I first bought it and customer service allowed me to price match it three more times with in a few weeks after I bought it. BestBuy is awesome!!! Once I install the Atmos speaker and mess around with the functions, I will write another review.

1st I like onkyo receivers that being said this one is by far the best I have ever owned. It has a big price tag but if you are into home theater especially with the dolby atmos and dtsx formats you need a avr that can do a full 7.2.4 layout. This avr is a monster, it is sturdy made , very heavy I'd say 50lbs at least it is taller wider and deeper than any avr that I've ever owned, so make sure your entertainment center can hold it. Mine could not the height was my problem, but I managed lol. Now for the sound, it has 11 on board amps that are amazing you want be disappointed at all, it has a lot of dsp fields including numerous the THX options in 5.2 up to 7.2 including THX select 2 plus for movies and THX music THX games, there nice options . But the 7.2.4 layout for the dolby atmos and dtsx as well as the dtsx neural x formats are off the charts. Any blu-ray with a dtshd 2.0 5.1 6.1 7.1 format that you play the avr automatically puts it into dtsx neural x for the 7.2.4 . All your old blu-rays come alive with amazing sound . It also unconverts them to 4k and allows you to manually adjust the setting yourself. The 4k movies themselves are just amazing shown through the avr. Like I said best avr I've ever owned.

This was an upgrade from the previous top of the line Onkyo TX-NR3030. My main reason for the upgrade was the older model only had one HDMI input with HDCP 2.2 , whereas this model has 8. However, there are numerous other enhancements that make this a great, but expensive home theater receiver.

I researched AVR's for 2 months and settled on the Onkyo. Sound is amazing and it has so many features. I like the Bluetooth part. I am able to listen to all my music on my phone with no problems. Next I will be upgrading my speaker system for this receiver.
