I was going to buy ST60, price was great. I really wanted the VT60 but the price was $2, 200. While I was procrastinating the price dropped to $1, 995. I still was mulling it over, the price dropped again to $1, 799. I decided to go with the ST60, went to local best buy on a friday to buy. They were having a 2 day sale and the price for the VT60 was $1, 599 and I bought it. The setup was straight forward. I use the thx cinema setting with the brilliance set to high for regular TV viewing. I turn the brilliance to off or low for movies. I tried several different custom setups listed on the web (cnet, avsforum) but I preferred the picture using the thx cinema with the brilliance turned up. I have a bose gs123 home theatre system that preceded HDMI. The bose does have an optical audio in as the VT60 only has optical audio out. I just had to go thru the bose menu to assign TV to the optical in. The blueray (3D) panasonic player (BDP-220) presents no problems as it uses HDMI (ARC) for video and sound.I only have 1 issue. I need to turn on the TV 1st then the bose for the bose to switch to PCM: 2.0 in order to get sound thru the bose system. The VT60 speakers are ok but a separate sound system is the way to go. The tv is in a room with windows and sky light, when room real bright I switch picture setting to thx bright and reflections are minimized. I have no issue with hearing any noise/buzzing emitting from the tv. I have a friend who has a kuro 60 and he said the picture on the VT60 is better than his kuro. He had his tv professionally calebrated as well. Am I satisfied you betcha!

When I heard Panasonic was discontinuing their plasma TV line, I knew I had to get my hands on the best in class before they were gone. The VT60 did not disappoint. I have it wall mounted on a flush mount. It is crazy thin for a plasma, so the front glass is less than 3 inches from the wall (really flush mount too). The picture quality, colors and black levels do not have an equal. I watched this TV side-by-side with the Samsung F8000 and F8500, and while not as bright, crushed those sets in natural saturated beautiful colors. As with most plasmas, the motion is perfectly natural. Not juttery like an LCD, not overly smooth like a "soap-opera" effect LED LCD. The front facing speakers are remarkable for their size. There is a bit of config needed to get the best sound (especially if mounting it against a wall), but once I dialed it in, I was very happy. Overall, I could not be happier.

Great TV. Excellent picture quality, black levels, features. Was too high at over $2300, but when purchased under $1800 became an incredible value. I am sad Panasonic is dropping plasma tech, as they were the best Plasmas for the $$$, hands down.

If plasma is suitable for you're living room then this a great choice. I had previously had the 50" ST60 model delivered but needed something a bit bigger, so I went back and chose this VT60. I paid a bit more but its definitely a jump in picture quality. No need for calibration, THX settings programmed in the TV give awesome picture with some of the deepest blacks and whitest whites. This plasma is awesome for gaming also, I currently have my Xbox One plugged in and that's all I need.

This is a great set if you care about picture quality (particularly color gamut, deep blacks and motion artifact). The ZT60 series is even better, but most will be very happy with this one and it costs several hundred dollars less and comes with a camera. Yes, LCD/LED TVs are better than they used to be and are cheaper. Sure 4k is around the corner as is OLED but each of those still has problems as of Dec 2013. You'll need a huge set to appreciate 4k at normal viewing distances and there isn't much content. OLED is still expensive and runs at 60hz (so won't be good for anything with motion). So my suggestion is to get one of these before Panasonic stops making them next year.

This was my first High Definition TV, so I did a lot of research on line and with Consumer Reports. All indications were this was a top picture high definition. The price was a little steep, but since this was my first, I wanted it to be good. Went in the show room and was "wowed", so what would it be like at home? Just as good as in the show room!. Love all shows in HD, on Blue Ray, and even the internet using Apple TV. Also got a Sonos sound bar and the sound with the TV is very good. Really like the product, and so glad I got it. It would have been nice to have more than 3 HDMI inputs, but I am getting by, and really like the TV

This plasma from Panasonic is the real deal. Awesome picture, the 3D looks great. I could not ask for anything more. Well a few more 3d glasses would be nice. It only comes with 2 pair. The tv is quality. I hope it lasts for a long time. Panasonic is not making plasma TV's anymore. I would buy this tv again for sure. The sound is ok, but who uses the built in speakers. It's a high end tv, you should have a surround sound to match.

Great picture quality. Can't stop tweaking the professional image quality controls. This set produces the deepest black levels I have seen on any monitor, ever. Truly impressive. Rumor is that Panasonic will no longer Manufacture Plasma after 2013. Get one while you still can!

Its like having a computer in your living room with a big screen. Love streaming Redbox and Amazon movies. Pandora is great on here because it allows you to set up to 5 users. I'm not big on the 3D but I have used it and its pretty cool. I didn't think the picture quality could get any better and all I can say is wow!!!!!!

This TV has an outstanding resolution and picture quality. It is litteraly the best that I have seen (except for the Ultra-high resolution screens that are just becoming avaiable, but much more expensive). It has some toys, like a built in camera and facial recognition control, as well as the Internet Smart TV features. I just wanted a great picture, and I am not dissappointed.

This is our second Panasonic Viera. The first one lasted 3 years when the motherboard died. Panasonic will not sell the part to individuals and it seems the online parts suppliers are all out of stock. Our choice was to use an authorized electronic repair company and spend about $700 or buy a new one. The Geek squad rep. suggested we buy a new TV. Perhaps he could not get the part either? We were concerned about getting another Panasonic, but the picture quality is so good we thought we would take the chance. This time I bought an extended warranty. Time will tell.

I've been waiting 3 years for this one. Aside from the typical plasma screen woes (highly reflective face, not good in a very bright room) I must say that this really hits the mark. There are 2 THX settings for (std and bright room)2D and the 3D TXH setting is acceptable in a normal room/daytime setting although the set really shows its stuff in a dim or subdued lighting situation. If you want an amazing picture this is it, it's like looking out of a big picture window into the world of whatever is playing, The 3D is just amazing and the bluetooth connection makes keeping the glasses in sync with the image much easier that the old IR glasses. I have played 3d movies on my playstation 3 from disc, streamed from the internet and tivo'd from directv, all of which worked perfectly and give you an awesome 3D experience. I have the 55inch screen and I am very happy with it.

This TV has an almost hypnotic picture quality to it. Smooth, deep colors, great blacks, just a joy to look at. Easy set up, nice looking when it's off as well. Plasma is for discerning viewers and these are now very hard to find.

This television is an excellent value, was easy to set-up, and could only be improved by adding functionality to connect directly to a home network so that folders could be shared out to it from computers on the network.

I bought this to replace a smaller TV and it really makes a difference. I connected it to a Bose surround sound center that's already had and the experience is great. I had planned to buy a roku box to access Netflix but this is built in and there's a Netflix button on the remote control so that's great. I compared picture quality of all the different types of displays and liked the plasma best. I know that It costs a little more but it's worth it. There are advantages and disadvantages to the different displays and it comes down to personal preference and I thought the plasma was more natural.

I shopped around a lot, read all the reviews on the internet, struggled with the choice between LED and plasma and ended up buying this TV. It was the correct decision!! The picture is unbelievable and my concerns about brightness of the picture were unfounded, not a problem. With the numerous choice of picture settings there is something that will work beautifully for all but the brightest rooms. Very good sound I thought for the thin profile of this TV, lots of apps - way more than I'll use, and a very clean and elegant look. Hooked it up to my Oppo Blu-ray and there's almost too much detail the picture is so good. Couldn't be happier, the picture is stunning!

Completely blown away by the picture on this TV. I was not ready to step up to a 4k set yet and have been very happy with the VT60. 3D is bright and has limited crosstalk.
