Great upgrade over the previous models

The last one lasted about 10 years of constant cups made during the day, so we went with Phillips again. For the price (about $800.00) this is an excellent machine that grinds and makes a variety of espresso type coffees. Even the frother works well. It has enough features to keep even the most demanding coffee folks happy.

My brother-in law had the base model that has treated him well. We wanted to go nicer. Within a few months, the seal around the lid started coming off and eventually came off all together. If we wanted to actually put the lid on fully, we would have to use a butter knife to pry it open. We asked for a replacement part, but they do not have the part so a new machine was the option. It seemed a bit much so my husband and I decided to deal with it. A few months after this… my husband went in to make coffee and the thing just would not restart. After fighting it, we got our coffee and knew it was time to put the warranty to use. Even with it though you have to buy a new protection plan so that was another $130 out of our pockets. (Probably should have just got the money and chose something else.) I will say though, my brother-in-laws has been great and he has not had issues

Literally push a button and get what you asked for. Even the frothing is Automatic. It measures the grind automatically and even chucks it for you. This is a great machine for easy and mindless espresso making. If you prefer more customization , this machine might not be for you.
