In short: I absolutely love this very customizable, versitile soundbar. I REALLY hope DTS Play-fi becomes a bigger ecosystem within the home theater category, as a lot of companies have already begun to incorporate it. Its worth checking out if you like to have control of your sound. In long: There's not a lot of reviews of this soundbar on the internet. Most of them have complaints of the "complicated" set up, poor software, and one complained about the tweeters sounding over worked. I've been using this for 2 or 3 weeks now. Needless to say I did a bit of research before buying this. The specs are what drew me to it. 7.1.2 soundbar that has the ability to pair with other speakers to add to your home theater system via DTS Play-fi. Philips make a Fidelio subwoofer as well as Fidelio Surround speakers that also offer a high promise in their specs. But ill only speak on the soundbar. Set up requires you to download the dts playfi app or the philips equivalent in order to connect it to your wifi. I suggest downloading the full user manual pdf, it will tell you exactly how to set it up and I had no issues with connectivity. Complaints ive seen about software are non specific and i boil it down to whats called "user error". So i cant fault the apps because they work as intended. You should also get the ps fine tune app. That app is great, it should be incorporated into the other apps but for now it is seperate. It easily finds the soundbar and will allow you to modify pretty much anything. Bass, treble, levels of each individual channel, a wide variety of sound modes and processing are all customizable. You CAN use the included mic and calibrate the soundbar and just let it do its thing from there. But if you like to optimize sound for each type of sound you listen to, you can. Oh, all these settings are also accessable via the remote and digital display on the soundbar. Play with it for an hour and you'll understand it. Its a plug and play device that has the ability to be optimized. Now, the sound. The bass of course is important to any home theater system. So i can say the integrated subwoofers have handled every movie and show that ive watched with remarkable ease. Its deep and very clear and you WILL feel it in the room as it shakes and rumbles. I honestly dont miss a seperate sub woofer while watching shows and movies in my apartment. The only time I've wished for more bass is while listening to music. If you've got a go to song with lots of bass to test it out you will be disappointed. That can be remedied with the option fw1 sub woofer. Its hard to describe the clearity while watching movies, from high to low. Its just great. You can really hear the depth of all the different levels of sound. It really is great to hear the distinction of the music, effects, and dialogue each at the same time. The mids and highs are incredible while listening to any type of audio. It sounds like its live and in the room. Its got a dialog booster as well and its done a great job, i have not had any issues hearing voices or constantly having to raise and lower the volume when the scenes get intense like on other soundbars. I own a jbl 9.1 and that was my first soundbar system and i love it, but I'd be lying if i said it was capable of half the things the Philip fb1 can do. I really feel like this sound bar has ruined me, ill never want to listen to anything less than what this soundbar can do. To wrap it up, its really great, play with the settings to make it work the best for what you are watching. It can upscale and has an ai surround setting that is good for making non atmos audio more enjoyable. I've tested the sony 7.1.2 in store and tbh for 400-500 dollars less, this soundbar keeps up with it if not exceeds it. And that comes from a sony fan.

Awesome sound, even without a dedicated subwoofer, and quality built.
