I was skeptical about using these at first but there are so many apps to control them

I have my whole home set up with Hue lights. We started with just a few lights and have expanded to almost the whole home including the outside lights (which work just fine even at +9 degrees.) I love the ability of the lights to set moods and even outside celebrations. The home can exhibit colors to match the seasons, Christmas, Halloween, St. Patricks, Fourth of July. We really have had fun with these lights. We have a updated router and never had a problem. The lights in my bedroom wake me gently in the morning. The lights I choose turn on when I arrive at home and turn off when I leave. I am finding new things to do each day. Thumbs up to this product.

We bought two BR30 bulbs for a total combination of nine A19's and BR30's to hue up our entire condo. These BR30 bulbs were purchased to install into our track light fixture directly above our dining area. During the installation process, we ran into two problems since our fixture utilizes the open-back / front install gimbal type fixture that uses PAR30 type halogen bulbs. The clip was designed to hold PAR30 size bulb heads, so these BR30's were just a tad wider. A little jiggle got them right in and flush mounted with no problem. Secondly, the bulbs were too tall and overshot the track light gimbal by about an 1". This prevented the light from a complete 90-degree swivel, again not a problem since we never shine the lights 90-degrees downward. Besides these two issues, the lights work perfectly. For a cleaner and flushed look, we'll probably swap out the fixture for a model that can comfortably house the BR30 bulbs. Next up, 3 additional A19 bulbs for our nursery-in-the-making and hallway, a Friends of hue light strip, two Boom accent lights, and a tap switch :).

Once you get used to the idea that you can make your light any color or pulse it to your music or have it automatically backfill your tv lighting you will drive everyone in your house insane. Thses bulbs are great for adding color were it makes sense. They are controlled from an app (there are many of them now) so there is not an instant on which means using Hue for a reading lamp or entry light is problematic. But for decorating, mood, or party they cannot be beat. Extremely easy. Screw in lights, hook bridge to router, install app, have fun in about 5 minutes. Do not use with dimmers (unless you leave the switch on and fully lit).

I purchased the Hue Lighting kit with very low expectations. Usually this type of product is hard to install and less than stellar in operation. it seemed like such a cool idea that I gave it a chance. Man, was I pleasantly surprised. The HomeKit feature installed in two minutes. I was controlling the lights with Siri moments after the install. The colors in the lights are unbelievable. You can tell Siri "turn the lights blue" and they go blue. This is really a cool thing. This product works as advertised and is really fun to use.

We do have a couple areas that really need the BIG version of the Hue (not the pint sized model) and this is it! GENERAL BULB REVIEW: OK, yes they are expensive...But, they are awesome. If you buy only a couple at a time and wait for sales at Best buy (they DO have them from time to time) You can eventually have the whole house set up. Speaking of set-up, it is relatively easy for even a novice. I do have suspicions however, that they take up a bit of the bandwidth if that is an issue for you. They work best if your home is primarily light colored walls, as you can completely have a new look whenever you want to by uploading any picture or color scheme that suits your mood and...Bam, new paint!

People whine about paying so much for lighting, yet spend $1,000s of dollars on TV's, Audio Systems, furniture, re-modelling their homes etc. Lighting is SOOOOO important, and Philips Hue is THE BEST and worth every cent. There are still a few bugs to work out in the software IMHO - for example, alarms can only be set when at home on the WiFi network and cannot be changed, disabled etc. when you are remote and using the internet. This is a real pain if you are away from home for an extended period and forget to turn them off. However, that aside, the alarm function is really good to wake up to sunlight every morning. The pushbutton remote control is invaluable for programming different moods and is great to turn everything off last thing at night without needing to reach for you iPad/iPhone. The geofencing is really cool. And then, finally, the lighting itself can TRANSFORM your home! Whether you are watching TV, reading a book, relaxing, partying, or just want to have fun, these lights make a world of difference. Take the leap of faith and buy these. They are worth every cent!

great lights deserving of 5 stars but price made me limit it to 4. Kit comes with 3 lights but of course my kitchen has 4 lights. Great for changing theme of lights to fit the occasion.

These bulbs are great. While a bit pricey, they do offer a very wide range of colors and brightness levels. At 100%, these bulbs provide more than enough light in my apartment. The integration to turn on, off, and dim the lights with Amazon Echo is great too. The home feels very futuristic having all the lights be voice controlled. This is definitely a fun and frivolous purchase to make, but if you've got the enthusiasm and spare cash to try it out, it's worth it.

I purchased this light with the starter kit just because I wanted to see what hue color was all about. All I have to say is I am going to purchase more. Great quality and easy to install makes it a great product.. A simple switch on the smart phone app allows me to dim and change the light to several colors. If you are looking to have a light that can change to moods or give off different lights, this is the light.

I like these lights, they are very bright, and I used them to replace the three lights in the track lighting in my living room. I like the ability to change the lighting for different settings in the room such as watching TV, relaxing, reading, or just needing white light. It's nice watching 12 Monkey's on the Sci-Fi channel and having the lights sync to the show as well. I just wish they were cheaper, it makes it difficult to replace all the lights in a home at their current cost.

This is the most powerful Hue Bulb available today. I use a number of these above my office furniture to blast the ceiling. The bulbs cannot be seen in the office, but the ceiling changes color throughout the day to match sunlight! I use 13 as uprights & they light up the room!!

The Hue BR-30 (Can/Pot Lights) take the versatility and usability of the Hue lighting system to the next level. Although still not quite as bright as every situation may need, these lights definitely pack a greater punch than in their predecessor. I purchased three at once to outfit the main floor of my house (covering hall & living area) and they proved to be more than adequate for daily use and the great customizable features unique to Hue Lights! Love them!!

Hue bulbs are expensive and that sucks, hence the 4 stars. Otherwise, they are awesome. Out in front of the home automation product lines makes Hue a good choice, in my opinion, if you're looking to make sure you are planning ahead for a remote control home as far as compatibilty is concerned. Open sourced apps and compatability with other top home automation products makes Hue a no brainier for me.

I bought this light bulb as an add-on to the 9 Philips Hue bulbs that I already had installed. It was fairly easy to get it added to the lighting groups, however I had some issues with the light being recognized at first. I believe it's reaching the distance limit from the bridge. Turning it on/off a few times seemed to help and I haven't had any issues with it for over a week.

I really like my Hue lighting system, but buying the individual lights is really painful because they are so expensive. I bought the BR30 starter pack, but since it only comes with 3 lights, you pretty much have to buy at least one more of the BR30 bulbs to get a total of 4. Most of the colors are pretty good except for green, which is very weak/faded looking green.

Have 9 of these now setup in my basement, really useful for managing different scenes when doing different things (watching a movie, playing cards, etc.) Really nice to have the high degree of control made possible by this system, but it is expensive. Hopefully other manufacturers will produce compatible bulbs in the future driving the cost of this system down.

These light are awesome. I have used other LED lights that change color, but they were horrible at producing white light. These lights produce great white light and so may colors. They are really bright and really look spectacular when you change them to different colors.

Genuinely hands down believe that's Phillips makes the best lighting on the market. Their bulbs destroy the competition and offer an absolutely beautiful array of coloring and are very bright considering their power consumption is so little.

Easy to set up, easy to adjust, and they remain the cheapest color changing bulbs on the market. They are very easy to use, and their range is perfect! I have about 30 bulbs connected to this and it all works perfect, just as described!
