I love the bridge. Setting it up is so easy and when its synced to a sync box the lights match perfectly. It definately gives the room an amazing feel. At first i was a little skepticle because of the price of everything but let me tell you that its all worth it. If you love movies and shows as much as i do this setup is what you need. Perfect for video games and tv. I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants to upgrade their entertainment system.

This device connects straight to your existing router. I'm using the fastest Ethernet cable to have accurate results. I have my hue bridge hooked up directly to my room. Looks nice and flush and doesn't take up space. I have it mounted on the wall and got some nice cable ties to make it professional. Anytime you need to pair something to the hue bridge all you need to do is one simple press of a button on the bridge itself and I like how everything is illuminated so I can see the status of my hue bridge if there's any problems or connection issues also like how the big button is illuminated incase I need to press it in the dark that's a plus. So far no problems. I recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade to a smart home

Decided to upgrade our condo lighting and electrical systems to smart devices like Samsung smart things, Google home and Phillips hue. If you have the money to invest it well worth the investment for convenience. We've had the system set up for almost a month now. Highly recommend investing in a quality dual or tri band gigabit router in order to not suck up all your bandwith. Have not lost connectivity once but I'm very happy with the purchase. We have two dozen recessed lights in several lamps so the process is not cheap. But if you have the expendable income sit back and enjoy being lazy while setting the mood with lights or turn it off when you're ready for bed are leaving house.

Good product, pretty easy set up and the app is alright. I have had mine up running for over month with out any problems. I have a hue led strip, a bulb and a dimmer swith connected to it. The hub seems to have good range. I was able to connect all 3 items from about 30 feet through multiple walls in my house. Plenty of expansion if you have a big house before you need a second bridge. The app is pretty good, basic but good. There other apps out there to different things like blink to music, change colors based on tv, lighting, halloween and other things. It integrates with smartthings, google home and ifttt as well. You need to use the app on phone or tablet to control the lights. I reccomend one of the dimmer switches if you have family and want other people to control the lights without a phone and tablet. This stuff is very pricey.

I love this product but am only giving it 4 out of 5 stars because it makes you hook up the hub to an Ethernet port. I have WiFi points all over the house but since everything uses WiFi I don't have very many Ethernet ports. I assumed this product could be setup with WiFi but it has to be manually plugged in.
Besides that, the product is awesome! You can add and control all your lights and setup really cool ambiences and scenes. The app works good but is always getting better. If you buy, make sure you check out the "explore" options and go to the Hue Labs to find cool routines and programs you can run on your lights.

I was holding out on wanting to get this Bridge because I really just wanted to control everything through my Alexa device. However, after having some trouble with my voice commands on my Philips bulbs, I finally buckled and purchased the Hue Bridge.
I was so surprised at how easy everything was to set up. The biggest reason for me originally not wanting to get this was because I don't have the best luck with setting stuff like this up, but I was able to set up the Bridge and all my Philips Hue Bulbs in less than 30 minutes. I have about 8 bulbs total in my home. On top of it all, I really enjoy the different themed color profiles that are provided, it really helps set the mood for movie nights at our place! Going back to Alexa, this helped make the integration seamless. I was able to set it up within its own app as well as being able to control every bulb, room, section with minimal effort using Alexa.
The only thing I wished was that this device didn't need to be hard wired into a free Ethernet port. I was lucky enough to free up my one and only port, but it would have been nice had this been capable of being wireless. Other than that though, the design of it is small, simple and clean, allowing me to discretely place it in my entertainment stand.

It works as advertised, though I resent having to download an app-- it would be better if this device came with its own program loaded on the device itself. Anyways, it feels good to put my lights in candlelit and party mode.
You need to upgrade if you have a first generation

I’ve had few bulbs and smart lights for many years and had a first generation bridge although I was told that the first generation bridge could be a matter of compatible through your software updates. I was experiencing a high-pitched home and interference throughout my house that was very hard to track down. It turns out that this was emanating from the bulbs and related to an outdated Hugh bridge apparently replacing the bridge seems to have solved the interference and high-pitched noise that was driving me crazy

Got some HUE lights as a gift but Iwas having an issue linking them together. Bought the Bridge and instant success. I can control 1 light or all the lights and also have my thermostat, and other items all connected through Alexa. I love this thing!!!!! Made it so simple

Bought this to control my home lights from outside my house easy to set up, very nice design, good quility product, working perfect but unable to schedule automatic on/off from the app.

You can use Philips lights without this, but it's way more of a pain to do so. If you use them without this, you have to be on the same WiFi network as the lights and connect to them via Bluetooth to use them. Meaning, you can only control the lights when your phone is near them.
However, this makes it so you can control your lights from anywhere in the world you can access the Internet from your phone. Very convenient.
I will say this bridge was a bit of a pain to set up. I connected it to my WiFi router via Ethernet cable and I think I had to unplug, replug and play with the Bridge about 10 times before it connected as it did. Once I got it set up though, it worked just brilliantly. But setting it up is a pain.
Overall, brilliant add to a Philips lighting package.
