I looked at loads of reviews of A/V receivers. A lot of red flags out there. The sales rep at Best Buy practically stood on his head to have me choose this receiver. Glad I took his advice. Initial setup was quick and trouble free. Up and running in minutes. But I'm still trying to navigate all the controls and features. Got a learning curve here. It has ample power for my speakers and the audio is outstanding. Read a number of complaints about A/V receivers running hot to the touch. This Pioneer is barely warm even after having been turned on for several hours.

7.2 receiver with the latest HDMI hookups, including iPod/iPhone/iPad integration and a whole lot of other great features for UNDER $400 - Now THAT is a deal. This receiver doesn't cease to impress; it is easy to hook up (I strongly recommend using the HDMI connections and banana plugs for the speakers), easy to calibrate with the MCACC feature, and even better to listen to. At this point I recommend this over the latest offerings from Onkyo, which is what I replaced. Aside from not having the latest Dolby Atmos decoding - this is a perfect receiver for the home audio enthusiast.

I bought this after returning a Sony that had issues out of the box. This was more expensive, even on sale, but it was worth every penny. This has features that I'll probably never use, but it is very cool to know that I could. It can play from and charge an old gen 3 iPod touch that I have, so I just leave that hooked up for music. I was slightly disappointed by the on screen menus, the all to common lack of intuitive menus and remote control features and radio reception with provided antenna. This can be overcome through familiarity and a better antenna. I would highly recommend to a friend.

Let me start by saying I am NOT and audiophile. I was out looking for a new receiver with HDMI inputs to add to my new TV and video game console. I came across the Pioneer and the price blew me away! I had to get it! The installation of the components was extremely simple. There is even an app that guides you through the set-up and allows you to make adjustments right from your phone. The sound that it produces is strong, clear, and undistorted at all levels.

I had no problem hooking this system up. The sound is totally awesome. It separates the sound to my surround sound speakers very well. I have a flat screen tv that handles up to 1080p and it seems like it up scales the video and is tons better than what i had. I love this receiver. It is totally awesome. It is definitely a keeper!!!

This home theatre system is VERY high quality. The menus can be a little confusing, (there are 3-5 sub-menus for each menu), but they allow for manual or automatic modes of adjustments. Almost too many options. Only major issue was owners manual is online, and not the easiest to navigate. Everything else gets Kudos

I had an Oniko 7.1 system that I bought about 14 years ago. It finally bit the dust. This reciever is so much clearer. The sound quality is excellent and it has more than enough adjustabllity and range. The only negative are the instructions.

2 zones needed for multi-channel playing which were easy to setup. Very nice sound that works well with our surround sound installation. Tested full range - and provides a quality sound. Easy to read the display and understand the options. Has a universal USB jack for auxiliary playing that is located conveniently in the front of the unit.

I purchased this a month ago, I'm very pleased with it so far. Set up is simple, except for the mult zone feature. The sound can be adjusted to your preference easily. Fortunately I already have an HTC phone so controlling it through the app is easy. I wish it had Bluetooth.

Excellent receiver, easy setup, replacing a Denon and previously a Sony (both died unexpectedly, Denon was less than 6 months old!). This receiver is by far superior. Powers off when you turn off the TV/Cable by itself (it just knows!). Great sound, and great surround sound capabilities. Has better sound than the previous Sony and (by 1B miles) the Denon (which also was incompatible with my BluRay player, sound skips, etc.). CONS - Does not come with WiFi (VX90 does, but was not available at the time of purchase, and at a much higher price) without an additional (over priced) network adapter. Network connection is required to update the system software/BIOS and for streaming, but that is more cheaply resolved with a good CAT6 cable, or just purchase the VX90 model.

This receiver is great for the price. Very clear sound. I have a LG led TV with 120hz full 1080p and it up converts my TV to look almost 4k ultra. It was easy to set up with the eq. Very good and strong receiver

My setup is 5.1 but the7.2 receiver was designed to handle the 5.1 setup. Sound if very good and power is sufficient to drive my Klipsch speakers. Was a good value on sale and that made the purchase decision easy.

Owned a Denon which was difficult to even hook up even for a professional I ended up having to hire.and then it never sounded right. Volume also would only go so high with a dvd . Got this Pioneer and it was way easier to hook up. Sound is good Volume is excellent so now I can here without sitting on top of the tv.. Has everything I need and more.

After trying several receivers I finally settled on this one and so far have been happy with sound quality and features of the unit.

It has been easy so far to find my way through the menus. The quality of sound and connection seems good as well.

While not feature packed like it's higher model siblings, it has the critical features that you need to keep most people happy. The pass through option works great allowing TV sound with the amp off for normal viewing, and full home theater for movie/sports by simply turning the amp on. Sound is great for any size speakers and calibration is very easy thanks to the advanced self-calibration feature. If you are looking for creature comforts like bluetooth, look to those higher models. For all the basics and excellent sound, this model is perfect.

My home theater is performing like never before since we have the Pioneer installed. Picture is colorful and brilliant and sound is like being at the true cinema salon. We even have to be careful. Because when it is loud we are afraid we can disturb our neighbors. We are thinking of inviting them to come home and watch the movie together

Great price, value, functionality, programming functions, ease of use, reliability.

The receiver has great specifications and allows you to tailor your preferences and all functions to easily understand how to setup and listen to either TV / stereo internet radio or any other of many options on the market today including ROKU ready.
