I highly recommend any Pioneer Elite Receiver. Pioneer has been in the game a lot longer than most and really knows how to make a solid product from car home and dj and pro audio line.

The Pioneer SC-91 is a great receiver to drive a home theater in any room. It is easy to setup and has some wonderful features. I have it setup for Dolby Atmos with 7.2.2 with a 3rd sub. The theater experience is as if you are in the movie. Sound is well balanced and well driven by the amplifier. I have it driving 2 Definitive Technologies 8080 with 2 dolby Atmos A-60s and Bose Center with Bose 901s surrounds with some Bose 401 on stands for rear surrounds. Music played by bluetooth, CD or internet radio is mind blowing in clarity. Excellent Receiver. Only draw back is it does not have Bluetooth transmitter for using Beats wireless headsets. But Pioneer does sell a add on.

I am very pleased with this receiver. Prior to this purchase, I was considering scrapping my entire speaker system. That said, I am glad I decided to buy a new receiver first. After running a few BluRay movies through this thing, I am very excited about the sound quailty. Now I'm definately keeping my speakers. Saved a ton by making this purchase first.

Has plenty of power and easy to set up. The various option are well thought out and it provides great surround for both cable TV programs as well as BD.

I love almost everything about this unit. The wireless network capabilities are great. Bluetooth is awesome to play music from my Apple devices. Plenty of HDMI ports. Setup and calibration were easy. Sound quality is way better than my Onkyo THX unit it replaced. Energy efficiency is a plus. The only weakness is that it's slightly underpowered compared to my previous unit. Not enough for me to be too disappointed but somewhat noticeable. I would recommend this to anyone.

During the research for a Home Theater System, I came across this unit. It has the Upscaling Quality to give you crisp and clean fluidity of your picture weather it is Movie or Live action such as sports. I Have DIRECTV and I use to have it go straight to the TV. You REALLY see a dramatic Difference in the Quality. I am Using the Definitive Technology PC600s that have a really great sound. The Dolby-Atmos Feature is really phenomenal as well. The App for your Phone or tablet is great as well, as long as you are within Wi-Fi Range. I am Looking forward to purchasing the Pioneer Elite BDP-80FD Blu-ray Player to complete my system. But when you Purchase Stuff in Magnolia, Remember to Get your Panamax Conditioner/Surge Protector. You will not regret it.

This is an audiophiles dream. It had the best mcaa auto calibration I've ever heard. There is a hidden setting to allow the 2:2:2 4K video and sound to go through. The only thing it's missing is the bt.2020 HDR standard. At least as far as I am aware. Amp makes music sing through speakers with big power and the ability to bi amp

I wanted to love this receiver, I really did. After purchasing a first and bringing it home, I had some connection and setup problems that I didn't know whether they were just me or if it was actually an issue with the receiver. Finally, I decided to return this and swap it our for another of the same model. Again, I tried getting this setup to play BD and DVD and just couldn't get the sound and source to play correctly. Personally, I found this receiver very frustrating to work with. Granted, it does a lot and there are many setup options, but it just seemed to complicated for my taste. The one time I did get it working it sounded great, but that was short lived. I wouldn't advise against buying this but it just wasn't for me. I took this back a second time and bought the Yamaha, which blew me away and I'm more than happy with. All in all, Best Buy was great to work with both on pricing and returns. Props to them.

Is an excellent receiver. Had the right amount of technology for the price. Is in the middle of the models so gives you a good price with great package of technology. Easy to use and setup. Can use smart phone features.

Wifi Doesnt work, Menu Screen glitchy

I have had 2 of these delivered to my home and neither one of the wifi connections worked. The first receiver, the menu screen stopped working after an hour of them connecting everything, and the wifi would sometimes show up for a sec then disappear. This receiver definitely needs to be fixed. There are other sites that also reference the same issue with the wifi. Not sure how there are no other reviews like this on this site. I will include 2 pictures that you can see in the background they are within 30 seconds of each other. One pic you will see the receiver wifi connection, then like magic it goes away. I give 2 stars just because everything else works just fine.

The sound from the receiver is great and they do a good job of pushing my Def Tech 8040 towers and center channel. Although I'm using ARC from my Sony tv, I ended up getting an optical cable for more consistent switch back of sound from tv to receiver. The remote has buttons for all of the functions, but the iPhone provides more access to the functions and is very robust. I chose this over a Denon x3200 because the Denon did not work well with my AT&T uverse set top box. Plus, I actually thought the SC-91 sounded better. Setup was easy. Now to the downsides...there is an issue with connectivity to the app. Once my cell phone leaves the wifi network I cannot reconnect to the receiver without unplugging the receiver's power cord. That tells me it's not the app, but the receiver. You can use custom names for the input, but changing the names using the remote is very tedious. The interface for the setup could be better, but this is now considered a discontinued model. Pandora on the receiver is useless for some reason it does not recognize your account. You will have to use Pandora on your phone. I like the receiver even with the hiccups listed above. It always works and has sufficient power. I would recommend this receiver, but would let the buyer know about the app connectivity, which could be a biggy if you will use it a lot to play songs from your phone wirelessly.

Regarding video queality: My Oppo Blu Ray player has excellent abilifty to decodes and sends out HD video signals. My JVC projector projects great video image as long as you feed good quality video to it. The only job I require my receiver to do is to basically pass through video signals without any unnecessary modification. I have no complaint on how the Pioneer handles video signals so far. I don't do 3D in my house by the way. I just don't. So, I have no idea how this receiver handles 3D video signals.

I initially went to BB to purchase a Denon but the Magnolia consultant recommended the Pioneer Elite SC-91. It has great sound on even mediocre speakers and excellent sound on higher end speakers. It has enough clean power to limit distortion at high listening levels. Easy to setup, reasonable price, high end options and a great phone app.

I have a 4K Television and built in surround sound in my family room with an extra stereo zone in my living. This receiver handles it all like a champ! Pioneer Elite is, in my opinion, the best you can get.
