I have an Apple computer system (laptop and desktop). I was unable to watch Blu-Ray movies on the optical drive Apple markets. This was a welcomed option that allows me to watch Blu-Ray discs when traveling, or at home.

It's compact, attractive, and necessary given that computers no longer come with disc players of any sort. Seriously, I've got shelves of games and applications on CDs and DVDs, never mind music and movies. The downside on this product is that the Blu-Ray capable version costs twice as much as the DVD-only version, which is about the same price as a regular Blu-Ray player. Also, the USB connector's a bit on the short side. Finally, you'll need to go online and find your own software to play Blu-Ray movies, though that's not hard to come by and it's available for free.

I purchased the Pioneer external drive to compliment my new iMac. I've only used it three times to date to burn photos to discs. The files transfer at a decent speed. I like the small, sleek design of the drive.

This is a really good DVD/Bluray burner. I've been using this for a few weeks. It isn't the fastest burner out there, but it is portable; burns may different media formats; and can to 50GB Blurays... Perfect!

I bought to use with my Dell 2-in-1 7573. Works great! I just wish it had come with software. Seems stupid to not bundle that. That's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

I spent several hours over the past month using this drive and it has worked flawlessly. The drive has been mostly used for extracting data from discs. I have used on both my Ubuntu and Windows desktops. It can be a bit loud at times but its understandable considering how compact the drive is made to be.

Its nice and compact, I can carry it with me. Plays and burn disc if need it. I used it on my mac's. Work Mac, and my personal Mac. I just don't like it needs two USB ports.

I read a lot of reviews about this product and was a little hesitant, but decided to get it. The only thing I found to be true is that it is a little on the loud side, but not horrible. It performs great.

I bought this because I usually have another hard drive where my DVD player goes. Bought this needing a faster interface my other USB2 external drive. USB3 makes a huge difference! Man this sucker flies.!Accurate too.

I bought this Blu-Ray burner to create archive discs for my office. I use a new laptop without a optical drive so this was a great addition. It burns quickly and quietly so it’s ideal for my office

Integrated nicely with my laptop. Played blu ray disks very well and with the use of a third party media application it brought out all the features in the blu ray disk.

I just used it to burn 4 copies of a Home Movie made with Adobe Encore (and Premiere Pro) and it looked great on the television when played back. Served it's purpose, and seemed quick and relatively quiet. The pop-up eject design feels like a smart choice, my previous BD burner had a jammed door, and i don't see that happening with this one. If Video burned doesn't play back on a standard BD player, it's probably the software you're using as i found out before i switched to Encore.

Does what it's supposed to, fast. Some have complained about using two USB3 connectors for this drive. USB3 ports have limited power and this drive needs double to burn dual layer Blue-ray discs as fast as it does. Laws of physics apply. That said, it's a great little drive. The price on it at Best Buy was lower than on Amazon!

Works after loading the provided CD Software

My only beef with it was this is not plug and play, but it was not a reason to take a star away. The Blue ray player would originally only run the provided CD. So I was able to plug in the blue ray player to my laptop and install the required software to set it up to run Blue Ray movies on this Player. Took about 15 mins or so to install the software and we were up and running. Other thoughts: Seems to be pretty stable. I attempted to bump the table that it was sitting on to see if it would skip or stall at all, but I was not able to get it to skip or stall. Fantastic since I want to use this on trips and would not want every bump on the road to cause an issue.

Sleek brushed nickel finish, easy plug and play design. Plays, rips and burns discs easily. Hinged lid makes placing and removing discs easier than filling a slide-out tray..
