Plugged it in and bang started burning in 10 minutes

Works great on backing up all my blu ray and dvd movies.

Fast, linked well on usb 3.0, plays blue ray and dvd

I have no doubt that this will also be an excellent DVD/BD Ripper/Burner, but to date I have only been using for CD ripping and playback. I was happy to find a unit that was not a slot load drive mechanism. I was able to rip some other CD3 discs and a couple of Shaped Picture CDs. Fast and reliable, even on older Macs and PCs. I supports a variety of OS's.

The quality is great and the small form factory is really nice. It operates very quietly for such a small size. Speed can be increase by downloading the Pioneer utility app and enabling performance mode. Only complaint would be that the included cable is kinda short but it will take any USB 3.0 to USB Micro B connector.

I have a 2014 MacBook Pro and wanted to read blu-ray movies to "copy" to Vudu as well as rip the ones that didn't so I could watch when traveling. This worked perfectly plus allows me to watch a blu-ray or DVD if I want. I didn't test writing using this yet as I don't really have the need. Matches nicely to the Apple MacBook too.

Able to view cd's quickly haven't tried burning a disk yet though

As most laptops no longer come with CD players I had no option but to purchase one for all of the CDs I utilize for embroidery and quilting. Without the CD player you cannot download to the computer any longer. I was there for in search of a reliable but fairly inexpensive player in this fit the bill

This player works very well for playing standard bluray discs, just be sure that you have the proper codex to play your movies(or bluray playing software such as cyberlink). There is no software bundled with the player and to the best of my knowledge it can not read 4k ultra hd discs.

Awesome way to get your home videos on a blu ray disc!

I use this drive to rip blu-rays to my NAS and it works great.

The drive appears to accurately transfer data to BD discs. The software needed to perform this recording task is the most important part of this scenario, but the drive seems to work just fine with Roxio burner software. Be aware without an external power source, the computer hook up cabling requires two USB ports. I use one 3.0 for data and one 2.0 for power. I like the slim nature of the physical size of the drive; it's barely larger than the discs.
