This is the thinnest drive I've ever own. Pretty compact size, easy to just toss it in your back pack.

I just works! You need PowerDVD for Bluray, but it plays and burns everything without error. Thumbs up!

I’m still wrapping My mind around how small / compact and feather light this Pioneer Blu-Ray Burner that does so much is… I did all the preparatory steps prior to giving it a go burning My first Blu-Ray Disc this morning, and although the processing time was significant, once the device kicked in things went alot faster. Overall I’m pleased with it and the price.

I bought this to go with a mac computer. You need to download a program to get it to work with mac and blu-ray. No helpful instructions at all. I had to call Apple to help me figure out how to make things work. Here is the site where I got the program. https://www.macblurayplayer.com/features.htm

I purchased the Pioneer BDR-XD05S external drive with one thing in mind. Great if I can watch and burn CD's/DVD's but I wanted to add BluRay to my MacBook Pro. I must say this unit works great and powers nicely when plugged into a USB 3 port. With a software BluRay player for my Mac and the Pioneer I haven't looked back. Great unit!

I've been happy with this product as it plays all the formats I've tested on it. Furthermore instead of the more standard entry its a lid making disk insertion and removal easier. This was very important as I've had problems in the past with library disks getting stuck due to labeling coming loose.

This unit does the job. Extremely compact and easy to carry around.

I've wanted an external blu ray burner for a long time. I'm glad I waited because this one works great and is very affordable. I have tried 3 different brands/capacities of media so far, with no problems. The USB 3.0 interface allows a reasonably fast burn time. Very happy with this purchase.

I wanted a DVD burner/player for my MacBook, and this fits the bill nicely. I am able to burn DVDs and Blu-ray disks with no additional software, and watch DVDs as well. The only downside is that if you want to watch Blu-ray movies on a Mac with this drive, you need to purchase third-party software (this may not be an issue with PCs).

Boom for the buck is good....love the slim body. easy to transport in my bag.

Great price, very user friendly. Was compatible with my Apple Mac desktop.

I upgraded the external DVD that came with my laptop (4 years ago) to this Blu-ray capable USB 3 optical drive. The size and weight are ideal for including this in a laptop bag without hogging lots of additional space. The clamshell design works better than my previous DVD drive that had a drawer that extended and could be finicky on occasion. Absolutely no issues so far!
